A very scenic site Eliade66! Was the turbulence during the flight rotor off the headland or small thermals off the foot of the hill? WIth the rotor in the small gullies behind the coastal ridge must give you wide-eyed moments - you were wise to come in with plenty of air speed for a good landing to a sweet flight. The Falcon is a great glider, a mate has just ordered one from WW with a special seagull design. Happy flying!
Hi McAndrew! Thanks for your comments and remarks. Thermals were absent. I could slightly float with the weak uphill wind. Turbulence was also weak, but I could clearly feel the rotor behind the small ridge that compelled me to land ~100-m short from where I planned to land. I believe that with stronger winds (>25 km/h) the field I used here as LZ should be avoided or used with great caution. For my first exploring flight, I decided to take off with easy wind conditions. Cheers!
@eliade66 that would be wise to avoid in higher winds, as with those hills in front in a stronger breeze the rotor would be difficult to manage. flying faster when landing in turbulent conditions will give more control. As you say, avoid, and if you can't use great caution! Nice video :-)
