lol, you musta starved them for a couple days before this vid? Thats my comment down there from nine months ago. I now have far more roaches than what I need LOL
How long before you got over the fact they are ROACHES. lol I still can't touch mine after a week. I started with 40 adults, 100 nymphs. How long you think before I should start feeding my beardies? 3-4 months?
~30C and you got a non stop breeding center, its fine with room temperature but if you want to hurry the breeding just give them decent of place, ~30C and plenty of food.
for me, its food to my Gecko, just bought a colonize and going to breed them, thats my point, some other ppl might have the same reason, and others just want to look at them.
yup they are the best feeders hands down for pet reptiles and amphibians. they are cleaner than crickets, live longer than most feeders and make no noise.
Roaches are actually 1000cleaner than people give them credit for.
whats the best means of establishing a colony like that?? i had eleven to start off and they finally just breed and i have about 50 lil babies running around... any tips for success??
Tips for success... probably the biggest would be patience. I started my colony with 100 and waited about 6 months before I started really feeding heavily out of it. Other than that, keep them warm, watered and fed, and they should do just fine.
I would like to start my own colony but i have no idea how to get some of them, Ive never seen them in the pet stores before, Can u order some live online?

What is the point of colonizing roaches?
I'm seriously asking, I have no clue
CantStopWontStop818 2 years ago
Most people that keep dubia roaches are using them as food for some kind of reptile. I have bearded dragons, water dragons and frogs that love them.

No, they don't bite. But if you squeeze them just right you might get a sharp poke from the spines that cover their legs.
