RIGHT AFTER HE MADE LIVING IN AMERICA. THE RESTAURANT IS NOW LOCATED IN OLNEYVILLE WE TOOK SOME PICTURES. THE ONLY ONES ALLOWED IN WERE MAYOR CIANCI,JOE BUCHANON,JB AND ME LARRY "SEKOU" JOHNSON. A VERY SOULFUL BROTHER
I remember this song when I was a baby. I used to watch the 45 turn around on the turntable, with James Brown's picture on the label. Man, those were the days!! This is probably my favorite song by J.B.
I saw JB perform this song live back in 1970 along with the songs from the "SEX MACHINE" lp; "BEWILDERED, I GOT THE FEELING, GIVE IT UP OR TURNIT A LOOSE". Man I wish the performance was filmed! He introduced the band as THE NEW BREED. James never kept the same arrangement for long but man that was something to see and hear with Bootsy Collins on bass!
This song makes me want to buy a 1975 Fleetwood

i almost got the lyrics down. But I found this 45 on the ground and it was beat up. But the worst part was it was pressed off center like a mutha.

Both versions are great. This one has a big fat feeling too it. Almost like the weight of the Big Payback.

I don't like this song as much as most others, the horns are weirdly out of tune sounding, lol. The live version from 1971 is much better to my ears.

@Ne0Panther I said the live version from the '71 Olympia concert is much better to me. Do you disagree?
