Someone is selling me a used prodigy fx for $800. Is it a good deal? Because I reakky want to know if these are really good for mixing at parties, and etc.
can someone help me in hooking up my prodigy (same as this one on vid) to an audio source. basically i want to hear the music out of my stereo system. i thought i had the RCA cables for it, but i'm not sure where to plug what.
if u can mix, just a little, on the B-52, then u can do alot better on pioneers. The B-52 is kinda hard to mix with. I don't know why people say, "If ur a beginner, the B-52 is great!". That's a lie! If ur a beginner, then you'll need sumthing easy to learn on! Go buy sum pioneers, learn on them & you'll be a pro, & you won't have to upgrade later on, down the road!!!
By the way, you sound real good for ur first time mixin'!!!
@tone430 what's the difference between a pioneer CDJ and any other CDJ exept the quality? quality does not make u learn better... and id say if ur a beginner u should start off with Digital Dj gear, thats the easiest shit ever. and then learn beatmatching with some CDJ's
I totally agree that this is not the best product, but for a beginner the b-52 FX is great to learn on. Of course if you're a real professional DJ then you shouldn't even be messing with this in the first place. Pioneer is where you go.
I was one of the first to own the Prodigy FX system. I purchased it two years ago at the Vegas show off of the owner Avi Elkiss. The product has been to Long Beach for repair issues 7 times now. The cd players suck and the product quality is horrible. Both my cd's players took a dump for the 3rd. time now. And the customer service for this low quality product is horrible. I have been a full time professional DJ for over 12 years and I will be switching back to Pioneer.
Ok so after maybe a month of spinning, NEITHER deck likes to eject my cd's. This is rather frustrating, especially since this isnt just me, many other buyers of this product have the same problem. And Prodigys customer service is far from good, and im tempted to get the manufacturer warranty, sell the 'new' unit on craigslist for $600, and just buy pioneer cdj 400s.
Oh...try this also, with any song learn how to isolate your "breaks" without looping. back and fourth, this technique helps your timing. you got a helluva beast with that prodigy for an amateur.
Don't laugh but you might want use some old school music with the bpm you have to format yourself. it's a good teacher. Try the "off the wall album" Quincy Jones produced it for MJ. Techno is too easy. Other than that...good job.
I have just the B52 , not the FX version. Im planning on getting an external effects processor, as i figured thats cheaper than paying $1,200 when all you get additional is effects and a carrying case (which is really nice, btw). The scratch effect is decent... obviously, nothin compares to vinyl. Its worth it :)
i got the prodigy and its great.i got a job at a hooka bar here with it and i hooked it up with a time code (torq connective) and it does everything a Fx does with the program. i was bummed that i saw them on ebay for 400 and Fx for 600 there in new condition.
Besides the one complaint i saw on top, how's the table otherwise? I'm seriously considering getting one. I played around with it at Guitar Center for a good hour.... so much funnn... =)
Hey man, important tip for mix videos. Plug the audio out into your cam. and have your mic plugged into the mixer. Btw, how is that gear working for ya?
B52 is the WORST TABLE EVER, I Had to send it back to them 3 times because there table is JUNK it has a mind of its own It has takin them 5 months to try to figure out whats wrong with my unit.. and the customer service is the WORST EVER... Save Your $1200.00 I wish I would have
