  • 4:40-4:56 best part of the song for the relization of the curse.

  • this is sort of like Dark Night Toccata

  • nice combination! =D

  • This song is quite simmilar from Finale Toccata, from Symphony of the Night.

  • I think that Trevor's new design is cool.

  • my favorite song!

  • what about the castlevania 64? no one cares about that one!

  • I have castlevania 64 on my computer and curse of darkness on my xbox. I have to say it's because the 64 castlevania is terrible.

  • @icetrey87 you know nothing castlevania 64 is the best 3d castlevania so far, this one is good but far to repetitive and with a mayor lack of platform action

  • @icetrey87 castlevana 64 is the best 3d castlevania ever

  • who ever siad hector is the best WRONG!!! ISAAC IS THE BEST!!

  • Toccata into blood soaked darkness is perfect. The better of the series

  • legal eu tambem gosto de castlevania curse of darkness

    muito legal esse jogo

  • danm hector is a beast!!!

  • LouisKoo, I know almost nobody believes so but I think Curse of Darkness was better than SotN.... But only a bit better. CoD was a 3-D Symphony of the Night. Great music, spendid drama and actors, cool areas of exploration, and high customization values make Curse of Darkness the "new" best Castlevania.

  • yay! someone that doesn't put this game down just because it is 3d!

  • Honestly, it took me a while to realize Curse of Darkness was better than Symphony of the Night IMO. When you play CoD for the 1st 5 mins, nothing really impressive until you delve into more. Then you start to realize it's just a deeper experience than SotN. 2-D/3-D don't mean shit.

  • I only had 1 complaint w/CoD--Dracula's Castle. It would have been cool and classic CV to fight the main CV bosses(ya know Frank,Medusa,Phantom Bat)at the end of each floor instead of fighting endless amounts of enemies. If this was included in the game, this would be my favorite CV game of all time and I'm sure others would agree.

  • You know something.... That would have been cool and all but I'am actually glad they didn't do that.

Because the truth is, CV1 is NOT Castlevania as a whole. It's enough Konami included the NES CV1 bosses in Rondo. And don't get me wrong: I love NES CV1 and its remakes. They are classics. But adding a special moment with classic NES CV1 bosses makes CV1 seem way too important when you start having a boss parade comprised of bosses from NES CV1.... When in reality, all the games are important.

  • I see your point. It would have been nice if Hector passed by Alucard's coffin and said something like-"So here he lies."

Why didn't Trevor just mention his cohorts(Alucard,Sypha, and Grant) by name instead of saying "others who fought beside me"(I think that's what he says). Was it copyright infringement to say their names?

  • That would have been much better.

I doubt it. How can they be copyright infringements? Konami made both games.

Well according to CoD, the Dracula's Curse game is no longer canon. The story of Trevor and his allies are but not the way NES classic portrays it.

  • Yeah I know it's not copyright infringement. I was just trying to think of some bogus excuse why Trevor didn't mention them. Hello! One of your allies was the son of Dracula. Trevor could have told Hector of Alucard and they could have teamed up to go find him. The dialogue could have been something like--Trevor:"Alucard your father tis risen again. Will thou help us defeat him?" Alucard: "My father has returned. I will take up arms and help thee Trevor."

  • Trevor could have mentioned Sypha also. C'mon he was banging her. We could have had her helping out instead of Julia but I supposed they needed a love interest for Hector. I understand why he didn't mention Grant. Important to Trevor's battle w/Dracula but no real significance.

  • Sypha was a he/she at one point. So that made Trevor a homosexual during his "Castlevania III for the NES" days.

Believe it or not, Julia is one of my favorite CV NPCs along with Saint Germain. I truly did appreciate her presence in the game. She always made me feel warm and cozy because of the theme that played inside the I.D. farm. And also she was very affectionate toward Hector, considering his act toward retribution and the grief he bore.

  • I enjoyed St.Germain's presence in this game. Would have been nice to play with him through the game. He probably would have played like Joachim in LoI.

  • Yeah, St. Germain rocked hardcore. What a comic relief, yet still keeping with the seriousness of the situation.

I was hope Trevor would play like Leon from LoI... But that wasn't the case. Leon Belmont had the smoothest controls ever in a 3-D game. And Leon was realistically graceful with his evades. Trevor's evades were ripped off of Hector's and it made Trevor seem way too superficial. The way Leon rolled and evaded was more realistic and the controls seems smoother than Trevor's.

  • Oh I see...

Yeah, I too thought Trevor could of fleshed out his past endeavors more.

  • If Alucardc does not choose to go--Alucard:" My bloodline is cursed Trevor,;however,I cannot face my father again because guilt twould fill my heart. I will offer thou this bane of evil." Gives Hector and Trevor some kind of wicked sword. Most naturally the most powerful sword in the game.

  • It should would have been sweet to see Alucard in Curse of Darkness. I had my fingers crossed for a moment like that.

What's cool about Hector is that he was originally a lost soul.... A full bred human that said "Let me fight under Dracula and learn some dark magic in the process, to fuel my ego." (Either that, or he was a man of honor who happened to make a mistake by joining Dracula).

  • Yeah! An Alucard moment would have been cool if even a glimpse of his coffin or just a stroll through his lair from CV3.

  • And then Hector takes his leave from Dracula's services and lives the happy life with Rosaly. Rosaly is murdered and so Hector goes about with his quest for vengeance, only to seek retribution and bask in redemption.

It's just like the movie Gladiator with Russell Crowe. It also reminds me of certain characters from Final Fantasy VI. I'm pretty sure I've seen this theme elsewhere as well.

  • If anything, LoI and the years of 1999 and beyond are the most important Castlevania moments. Which is why Konami NEEDS to make a sequel to LoI and a prequel to Aria starring a young Julius Belmont in 1999, however they can't because they prefer to milk ever other entry in the series by making direct sequels to "not so" important Castlevania games that happened to star a Texan named John Morris.

My point, Konami is wasting precious time.

  • And a great point it is. I'm with you 100%.

  • Yep, Konami is silly like that.

However, I do respect the recent CV games. I just prefer that Konami take initiative on some of the more important time periods in the series.

2-D or 3-D, Iga needs to remake Dracula's Curse to add in Hector, Issac and how Trevor got that fucking scar.

    : )

  • In the CoD Japanese manga, it states that Trevor got the scar from his fight w/Dracula. I viewed Vol.1 of the manga and it does show a confrontation between Trevor and Dracula. I didn't get a chance to see it all.

  • That's why Iga needs to remake Dracula's Curse. That manga and Curse of Darkness are proof that the NES game with Trevor can't be canon.

  • Dracula's Curse was canon at first but then we got The Almighty Castlevania God IGA who then sent his only begotten son Shakespearian Jesus Dracula and rearranged the CV timeline.

  • Well yeah, Dracula's Curse IS canon but just not the way the NES game portrays it.

  • this game is a let down , worst in the series

  • it IS? o_O

please explain! I think Curse of Darkness is an improvement on Lament of Innocence. The storyboards though...they could have done better. Quit the metrosexual stuff, mmmk Konami?

  • "A Toccata into Blood Soaked Darkness" is my favorite soundtrack!

    Good Video!

  • Cool vid. I love the "new" ending.

  • mto massa....num consigo passar do dracula ainda T_T...
