@Crigito While I do like kamelot (Everything except for GO, really, more or less) I'm hoping that Khan will use his sick-break to book some coaching lessons and get his range back, like Tate did. And after that be the new singer of ARK, or get Conception to reunite :)

Ostby is such an expressive guitar player - I can't really think of any other who can convey so much emotion through his playing. Simply superb.

I used to be a massive Kamelot fan, particularly for Roy's vocals . But as I came to appreciate melodic progressive metal over traditional power metal, I find the guitar parts in Kamelot too simplistic and unadventurous, but I came to absolutely LOVE Conception!!! Roy's singing is better in Conception in my opinion. Nowadays his vibrato is sounding quite forced and not smooth.

why people insist to compare between Conception and Kamelot... each band had it own style... conception was more like a progressive metal band but kamelot is power metal... why compare? both band have their own greatness and are awesome and Khan's voice fits to both... don't compare ppl plz

@Windaros Nahhh! IMO Conception's songwriting is more unique and more advanced for lack of a better term. Kamelot is more "mainstream" power metal. Guitarist Tore Østby is way better than Thomas Youngblood. He's only 21 years old on Parallel Minds! I've seen both bands live. Khan even sings better in Conception...Only my opinion though!

@Anticlimaximum777 Advanced? I think Kamelot's songwriting is better. Tore Østby may be a better guitarist than Thomas Youngblood, though you can't be sure. I don't think Thomas Youngblood has showed everything he can do. Roy Khan sure as hell doesn't sing better in Conception. He can go much higher though, and that's damn cool. He sings in a different way. He's much older now, thus has an "older" more grown up voice.

@Anticlimaximum777 I know what quotation marks are used for. And even if you say "IMO", you can't change the fact that Kamelot is not mainstream. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. justin bieber and 50 cent are mainstream. Pop and hip hop are the mainstream genres. Power metal isn't mainstream at all, neither is metal as a whole.

well that's just damn wrong. Conception is Different than Kamelot. The fact that You like Conception better than Kamelot don' t make it true for the whole wide world dude. Also I do agree with you. I find Conception more pleasant in listening, than Kamelot. But... they' re gone, and Kamelot are still here. Let' s all hope for something better from Tomas, Roy and the gang, huh?
