Hey Jesse, I can't seem to kong high objects if i leave split step. Would it be okay if i leave in a split step position, but pushing with both feet at the same time without stomping instead of 1-1?
@7parkoursocceraddict no but it is a bit different and the thing is once our brains know a safe way to do something it is hard for us to convince it to try it another way.
jesse please help whenever i do the kong vault both my hands don't leave the obstacle at the same time my left hand stays for a little bit longer but this is making me turn a little to the left you can say that my left arm is acting like a pivot.and i am not going as far as i should
my questin here is ... could you repeat this tutorial but in low motion or show a way to not hit the wall or the obstacle with the tip of my feet and believe me that was scary. i tried to do it and i did . the problem was that i couldnt make it with my feet and hit the obstcacle and then...get the picture ??? it hurt... thanks
i know how to do a kong but i can never get any distance when i started parkour and after 4 years whic is now i still land in the same freaking spot i know bunch of other tricks but i could never perfect the kong never could get that 10 more inches to do a cat can you give me some tip or am i doomed
i tried to kong short ways on a picnic table. I ran at it and i kicked my legs up to bring my hips up, i guess i did it to late or the distance was to short, but i cleared the table completely. It was scary. PHYSICS WORKS
Thank you so much! I usually watch UrbanCurrent videos but every single time I kept messing up. Every time I rewatched their videos I still didn't know what I was doing wrong. Your video explained every single mistake I realized I was doing and how to fix it, I am now pulling off the Kong vault with such ease.
However, I still find it difficult to kong through farther distance (i.e. Kong over the long side of a table), is there anything I can do to allow myself to go farther?
I really want to practice parkour. The problem is that I have a full day so I don't really have time to find a good park to practice at (plus I don't live in a town with good walls for practicing at/on). Any tips for good things to practice on that are in/around my home? Thanks.
A little problem I have is that I tend to do the two foot jump instead of the single foot jump. The reason I have trouble with the single foot jump is that I feel like I won't get high enough to clear the obstacle, although with the two feet I go perfectly over it. Can someone help me with this?
@LaFlairParkour i have a problem... i can do monkey, kong but getting off with both feet.. i try and i cant do it with one foot.. and for reaching longer distances i have learn that its better to do it with one foot..what should i do?
I have a little problem when i try to jump all the way through my hands, i always end up moving my legs to the right like im going to sweep my right hand and landing on the object im trying to jump over.... but when i practice like im about to jump over like you do in 1:50 i have no problem landing my feet in the middle of my hands any Suggestions
@chingoblingers try pointing your toes straight back and stay tucked while you move past the object. Pretend there is ropes tide around your toes and someone is pulling you feet straight behind you
Hey, Jesse! I really love parkour, but there's one problem... Or two. Or three. Anyways!! My house is parkour-proof, so I can't really practise here, and the same with the condo I'm living in! Aaaaaaaand I moved to this unsafe country for a year, so I can't go into the streets!! I know I love this sport, but I've stopped practising on the big wall I have (can't climb it because it's like... 24 feet high or something....) I want to do this but I've stopped doing it sort of..... What should I do?
@chingoblingers Your feet doesnt need to pass through your hands, just once your feet goes bast the other side or even just before that you can let go of your hands and gravity will do the rest
@chingoblingers what your gonna wanna do is try doing it just standing still then after like 3 times take a couple steps back and land on the object with your feet in the middle .... i think the best way to kong while beginning is over a table ... just saying in my opinion
@MrPingus123 Yes point your toes back and stay tucked longer. Your head should be forward with your feet back. Most people try to open way to soon. Just stay tucked and you will go further and fly longer. Also make sure you are arching up and over like a rainbow with an intention to jump way over the object even if you hands never touched. (but of course you have to touch your hands to help reset yuor feet and push away to give you more distance) feel free to post a video response
I've got no idea what I'm doing wrong. Whenever I do the kong over a table or something I always curve my legs. Apparently it doesn't "look" any different. (asked friends who were watching) but it "feels" like I'm doing it wrong. What is it that's not letting my legs follow through without curving them to the right or left or opening my knees to the sides?
Your the best! Really, The other people say how to do it and just do it and explain it in 1 min but you are great you take a while to explain it! And you take your time unlike others!
Is parkour dangerous? I mean snap bones dangerous. Coz I always seem to break bones in extreme sports eg: BMX. if it's not that dangerous I'm doing it, coz I already broke 3 bones in 4 month. And got a op with one.
@iOwnCoDMan21 Parkour is only dangerous to those who push to hard to fast. Our bodies have the potential to do the most incredible things but this does not just happen over night. We most learn to walk before we learn to run. We must learn to fall before we attempt to fly. We must take time to know our limits before we can set our goals. Parkour is only as dangerous as you make it. Train Safe!
i do kong vaults differently lol i jump waaaay earlier than you and by the time im at the whatever i want to vault i'm practically horizontal and still manage to bring my feet through, is this a different trick or am i just doing it wrong? i love parkour and change around most tricks and have made a few ^.^
I've been doing kongs for a while now but i've gotten into the bad habit of getting into it with a double footed jump. I need to learn to stride into it better. I just have this feeling that i'm going to bash my non jumping knee for some reason.
Hey Jesse. One of my issues is konging longer obstacles and, I guess its a kash vault, any pointers to help me. I have a hard time with my legs going between my hands or my hands dropping behind me (kash )
I know this guy does parkour for a living and Ive not even put up a youtube video ,but since everyone learns differently Id like to point out that you can skip a few steps by using a picnic table. Also once you start getting good going straight up has proven to be a big help for me. I hope this helps you all ,and jimmysreygreekfan the way I got over that was I had to dive over an object about knee high bout 3 ft away with a pad on the other side.
I can do a moneky stand kinda but only one leg goes between my hands the other is outside the hands. I'm alsoo scared because i think that when i'll do it i'll go faceplant!!! Can u help me with that??
i have trouble with this cause of my size 13 feet clipping. help on that please? im about 9 feet tall, if that helps. subscribing to you for the answer.
@777teg Damn your tall, that should make it easier to jump over things! And jus make sure you point your feet back behind you like your toes have a rope tied to them and someone is pulling them behind you when you are going over. Also just stay tight and enjoy the flight of the move with out putting your feet down until you are way past the object
thanx man pls make a tutorial of the correct placement of the feet when landing a high jump and rolling coz i always seem to feel a lot of impact when i jump thanx
For some reason every time i try a kong i think ill clip my feet and face plant(which did happen today lol) i have only really begun parkour at the start of last month. I have tried lazy vault and can do it good but i want to go to the next level. Do you have any tips???
i wanna do this stuff real bad, but i feel like i need to lose a little bit of my gut first haha. i can't bring my palms flat on the ground while my feet are down
hey bro, tx for the video. I did my kong today 7-8 times, but fell down on the next one as I try to do one leg jump rather than 2 legs together. I ended my right knee hit the wall, half dead now, can barely walk. I can't decide whether i'm left or right footed. any advice on single leg jump?
I really love your videos, even if I can wall run or vault i still watch your tutorial because i had to learn my parkour by myself, so little tips like pushing out is a good one.
Anyways, can you pose a tutorial for double kong and tell me if you think its actually useful or is it just for style.
Can you do a tutorial of the vault thats kinda like a reverse kong? The one where you jump, bring your legs in front of you, and then put your hands down? I think thats how it goes :)
@LaFlairParkour hey thanks to your tutorial i can now do a kong vault. one problem though, i cant land them. I always land on my knees and shins. Any advice on how to practice landing, on my feet preferably, i am okay with ending in a pk roll if i have to but my knees and shins are starting to hurt. please respond. thanks.
I own you sooo much... I' v been trying monkey vaults for several months and never really succeeded. I got injured sometimes... : ( But then I found your channel. I learned the monkey vault in 3 days!!! I got more into parkour with no bad memorys. I am doing every i can to make your tutorials more popular(I don't donate cause I am from china and it would kinda complicates things.
I still have some truble doing one leged jumps and keeping my body vertical but I am working on that. NEXT COMENT
I can do that, but I still can't dive :/ I can jump over that wooden outdoor table, but only over its shorter side. :/ (I managed to jump over its longer side too, but only once :( )
@LaFlairParkour :S oh wow, so 2 foot take off into a kong is poor technic? no wunder i struggle with kong to precision (iv dun 2 foot take offs into my kongs for years) if i switch it up to 1 foot take offs will that drasticly improve my kongs? cuz i can cleer a 7 foot table the way i do it... but if the 1 footed way is better then i must change my game up. plz help lol
@LaFlairParkour well iv wanted to get the move for sum time now, so i went out yesterday n tryed my heart out after watchin ur kong ect. tutorials... but the 1 foot method just woodnt werk (it did for like konging a mere rail) but not with much hight from up close or distance from further back... so i went back to punching with 2 feet...n after maybe 7 trys i got it :) was only bout 5 foot gap but still gave me that sense of accomplishment. ty for ur suggestion tho, n ur tuto.
i can now kong to precision :) btw ur parkour is awsum ... if i like u to my newest vid do u think u can give it sum critisizim ?? wood meen alot (but is also np if ur too bizzy)
at around 5:15 you go into people getting into bad habits by opening their legs and getting of balance and this is a great vid. but i still couldnt break the habit so if i didnt have the habit i would be able to kong and i need help
i have that bad habit one foot comes outside my arms and the other in between, i've done the kong a few times right so i know i can but it's like i forget because i keep doing the bat habit thingy :( help
Dude, your tutorial videos make me feel bloody fearless. Like I could go out there and do anything... I certainly couldn't do anything but damn I feel like it.
@picassopainter2 dude just get out there and try..i used to think i culd never be like these peopl but when day i tried a wall flip and landed it on my first try, now i can do kong hops, i can frontflip on flat i can speedvault, and i can also frontlip 180 off a picknick table, anything is possible if you try :)
hey i do a bit of free running myself and i have a bit of trouble climbing up walls from a cat leap land i always slip down again i was hoping if u could make video on that thanks
The one kid who was 8 and thought he was hot shit after watching this video fell on this face and disliked this video. EVERYONE else shares their love! LOL
I live in an extremely rural area, so I had pretty much given up on the idea of learning. But watching your tutorials I jury rigged a practice gym in our garage with saw horses. Thanks for the inspiration!
I wouldn't like to be annoying, but I'll try asking again... I'm currently 6'7 & 220lbs, but I've seen that parkour IS the best and most practical physical hobby and so I'd like to get involved. I would definitely like to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of being huge in parkour? (the weight can be trained down to ~180-190 lbs) Thanks! PS: I love your videos, especially tuts!
for that short of a wall i would probably just jump on it or tac to it for a precision most of the time or just tac over it, not really kong, and i ftheres no walls around then i would just jump over it or onto it probably, i cant really find a reason that you would need to kong
Just want to say, that if you land properly with both feet before you do the vault, with already bent knees and pushes as oppose to stomping, it will not kill your speed or your knees! : D Acctually, doing from both feet works better for me! ^.^
Also if you are going to kong a table or any other long width object make sure you "Eye Your Spot". What that means is as your running up to kong the object, keep your eyes focused on were you are going to put your hands, which should be at the very end of the table or object so you can clear the object and project yourself further.
Hey Jesse, I can't seem to kong high objects if i leave split step. Would it be okay if i leave in a split step position, but pushing with both feet at the same time without stomping instead of 1-1?

@MrOutlaws26 there are 3 possibilities.
1.you may not be getting your legs close to your body
2.you may be jumping too close
3.you may not be pushing of with your arms properly

Anyways, can you pose a tutorial for double kong and tell me if you think its actually useful or is it just for style.
DjAstral100 4 months ago
@DjAstral100
It is useful, since you cant lazy or even dash vault lengths you can do with a kong.
supermec131 4 months ago
@supermec131 I know that kongs go farther, im asking if double kong go farther than normal kong vault, but i got my awnser but thanks anyway
DjAstral100 4 months ago
Can you do a tutorial of the vault thats kinda like a reverse kong? The one where you jump, bring your legs in front of you, and then put your hands down? I think thats how it goes :)
zachrock101 4 months ago
@zachrock101 its called a dash. And yes I will do one soon.

NEXT COMENT

I'm 20 but I'm only 5"5. I suppose it's tough to find things that suit my height/jump ratio for a kong.

Im going to end up killing my self try to learn this...
marioplayer50 9 months ago
for that short of a wall i would probably just jump on it or tac to it for a precision most of the time or just tac over it, not really kong, and i ftheres no walls around then i would just jump over it or onto it probably, i cant really find a reason that you would need to kong
jthwdraco 9 months ago
please make a double kong tutorial soon
monsterenergymixxd8 9 months ago
Really nice tutorial! : D
