300dpi is nice and gives for most DSLR/Compact camera owners more then reasonable results ;) I did a 600dpi versus 300dpi test and I didn't saw a difference. I don't print huge so my simple 10Mpixel DSLR is fine enough...

Some of the point and shoot camera can get a large print with good quality. but nowadays who still print out the photo anymore :)

@jad9594 There are those who do - most pros still print - most amateurs... maybe not. But photobooks are still poppular.
