@RossD189 Personally, I believe her records wouldn't have flopped if they at least considered these songs as singles. It isn't like Bryan Michael Cox isn't a proven hitmaker. After all, he produced Ideal's "Get Gone", Jagged Edge's "He Can't Love You" and "Walked Outta Heaven", Justin Bieber's "Never Let You Go" and Mary J. Blige's "Be Without You"...and then there's his work with Jermaine Dupri. Last time I checked, all of those songs were huge hits!

Everyone is always so quick to attack Beyonce because she's getting her props and another isn't. Beyonce didn't start at the top, she worked hard for 20 years to get there. Don't hate, I love Amerie too but Beyonce's music just appeals to a broader audience. Amerie chooses to make music that's good but unpopular. That's not B's fault.

It takes consistency, 3x platinum worldwide was nothing in the 90's. So Beyonce wasn't on top of the game at 16. DC wasn't really on top until 2001 and that was only in R&B. Then Beyonce went solo and crossed over. "Irreplaceable" is the song that made her queen, then came "Single Ladies" so it took time.
