Heard the lyrics to this song 1 month after finding out my beloved cat Lemmy had cancer and would soon be leaving us. I was a puddle of tears. Lemmy was so distressed to see me crying,he came over to see what was wrong by putting his paws in my lap and looking up at me. He's gone now but listening to this song reminds me of the bond we had. I miss him.
Why do so many people think he's singing about his cat? He's singing about his dog... jeez.

Some corrections, taken from "Nights of passed over" lyrics book.
First time:
"Ella es mi hijita, más dulce que cerezas

Second time:

I could be wrong here but I think there are 3 corrections to the lyrics you posted:
1.WE'LL go to sleep, when she falls along my side.
2.And if I roll and kick AROUND, I might knock her to the ground.
3. I ADORE her face, she lays perfectly in place.
