nice vid yo., my professor talks about routing but doesn't show us how to do it and he hates protools., protools is the only software im comfortable with., thanks to you i know how to add an effect on all my tracks in my 2mix(sub master) thanks:), you got any vids on reverb cause that's one thing i have yet to quite understand
I was just in the studio, last night. I've reverse engineered the snare CRACK! you find in many of today's finest recordings. The trick is to set the compressor's attack to 3-5ms... this allows the first part of the wave through,, followed by a CHOCKING of the wave. You've got to drive that compressor with enough input, such that the transient SPIKES through! The snare top mic is only used for the first 3-5ms of the ATTACK! Stereo overalls fill in the snare's body/timbre.

That's three mics total.
Thanks for the well done presentation. I'll be looking for some of your more basic / beginner lessons as this still a little over my head. Compression needs to be understood by all, and you know your stuff.
one question! if i want to use an external compressor. when i send the signal to the compressor, can i record the signal on the same channel or will i have to bounce it to another channel? thanks
well done sir! T-racks 3 looks (and sounds ) like gold! I like the idea of the modules already programed for you in the presets...as I'm crappy mixer :) ( and recorder for that matter)
This was very helpful indeed keep this technical side of teaching up. I'm really in the position to make real moves behind the console. So all information is appreciated thanks again!

I thought you dont limit and compress your mix and if you going to send it to be mastered it needs to be peaking at -3db..... why did you do this?
