Any team which Detroit plays on the road has its arena loaded with Wing fans. I know because ive been to Islanders, Rangers, Devils, Flyers, Flames, Oilers, Canucks, Maple Leafs games, just to name a few and theyre packed with Wing fans. They earned that name.

yeah but even in the 70s Detroit was a strong market, the franchise had a lot of history, it was an Original six team. Those fans probably stayed hoping the team would get better and relived the glory days (like leaf fans do) either way that doesn't matter because those fans never suffered for TOO long (20 years) the team eventually got better, my point is if the Redwings sucked as long as the Leafs did the fans probably wouldn't have stayed it's easy to be loyal when your team is always winning

Great series. The Wings are going to dominate because of one simple fact: Depth. The Wings won Games 4 & 5 short Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Draper, and Ericsson. There is no team in the league that could survive loosing so many key players. The idea that the Pens have "depth" beyond Crosby, Malkin, and Gonchar is laughable. Keep either Crosby or Malkin contained and you automatically shut the other down as well. It should still be a good series, but expect to see the Wings skating the cup in 6! Go Wings
