The song and now the interview are timeless. Jack's catalog of songs include lots of stories of his life and loves. And, written with the same "aha" creativity that is all Jack Lee. Another favorite of mine is, "This Song's for Lovers." Maybe, because I know that story...
This really angers me. The link states Jack Lee with versions of Hanging on The Telephone and his version, Blondie's version, plus The Nerves and after the inteview finishes you are suddenly listening to something completely different.
A marketing ploy I think is in bad taste and really isses me off.

It has to be frustrating for non-creative types to see this and realize that when inspiration happens it may as well be Magic, or God, or Luck, or whatever you want to call it. Jack is describing in detail how he did it and what happened, but it's completely non-repeatable. You could do the same steps and get zilch.
I like the Blondie version better (Its My Favorite Blondie Song)! It, Like anything, Sounds better when sung by Deborah Harry, The Queen of Rock!! LOVE DEBORAH HARRY AND BLONDIE!!!!!!!!!!!
Jack Lee must be really happy when he visits YouTube and sees/hears all the great covers of his song that have been made. I was really surprised to see that there were more than a dozen here.
Our guy Kurt Baker from The Leftovers just covered this song for his solo debut. This is a great song and always love to hear song writers talk about their processes, always fascinating
Dont you think he's pretty boring to listen to? I heard Debbie on Los Angeles KROQ once calling in from Japan (Blondie were on tour plugging "Plastic Letters")and she said they had just gotten a new song "its something about the 'phone, waitin for the telephone or something"..brilliant
This is very inspirational to me as a wannabe songwriter whos very much inspired by the Nerves' limited but incredible output. Thanks for the upload! The Nerves were brilliant and especially Jack Lee. Please release more music soon! and upload more videos! I know I can't be the only one interested

Yes...original is the one...though I DO like the way Debbie Harry makes "affection" sound like "infection"
