Do you realize the legal standard a public figure must prove to bring a frivilous lawsuit against the petitioner? I don't know the real reason for her departure and I don't think anyone does.
However I simply find it hard to believe that she would be risking her political career by leaving a position she'd been elected to do because she can't take the heat of a constant barrage of ethics violations. It is as absurd as pleading guilty to murder in order to save the court's time when innocent.
That makes her out to be weak if she's innocent, stupid if this is the best excuse she could come up with or guilty.

Do you realize the legal standard a public figure must prove to bring a frivilous lawsuit against the petitioner? SCOTUS set an almost impossible bar to reach, which is why so few politicians go after the crazy liars - on the left or right. Even with ALL of the facts in her favor, she still wouldn't win.
Besides, I believe that countersuits on ethics complaints are prohibited as a matter of law.
I doubt any of the complaints weren't politically motivated.

I don't know the extent of it but I would expect that a really frivolous lawsuit is obviously frivolous and would be thrown out for not being meritorious (if that is not the case then the Alaskan legislature isn't doing their job). Those that are proven to be completely frivolous after the fact should entail reparations. If the law does provide for them then she should use the legal recourse. If the law doesn't provide for them then she try to fix it. quitting solves nothin

Yes, and those frivolous ethics complaints were thrown out, but after 15 of them, hte Palins still amassed $.5MILL in legal fees to get them tossed. And the legislature specifically choose to not allow reparations because to do so might keep people from bringing legitimate ethic's complaints - like against the previous governor.
I do, however, agree that quitting doesn't fix anything, but it just might save her family from liberal attacks and that is actually more important anyway.

You are the one who keeps hurling insults. You have no idea of my understanding of politics, because have not discussed politics. It is fun to watch a liberal struggle for a coherant thought though.
