  • Keep practicing, you'll get it little dude!

  • It's ironic because his name is Neil. No seriously great job I know the bass for this we should jam sometime!!!! lol

  • Hey, nice fills here. As TheMetalhead89 said, you´re pretty much in sync with the backing music and that´s awesome for someone so young.

    Keep it up!

  • amazeing you are my favorite drummer.

  • nice! keep it up!

  • 5 people are jeolus they cant drum like that

  • @rennieallen thanks that really means a lot :-)

  • dude thats awesome i could never be that good

  • Rofl! I see I was not the only Christian that listened to Rush xD. (I don't any more because even the songs of theirs that aren't bad are just empty, so I feed myself with more praise and worship music.)

  • you're 13 now, right? You still playing drums? For 10 y/o at the time, this was pretty good (as you've been told). How old were you when you first played?

  • dude that is outstanding keep it up you got a talent i wish i had

  • Wow, This guy is pretty good thats practically in sync with Neil Pert, very good.

  • Excellent work Neil ! Loved everything you did with this track.

    GREAT JOB MAN!

  • O_O

  • this kid is amazing for 10

  • Amazing! 10 years old......wow!!!! I love this song!!!!

  • amazing for your age. the lighting is a lot better and it looks like your parents have installed some sound dampining shades. lol.

i think it was bobby hurley (duke) said once, if you want to be one of the best at what you do, you have to practice 3 to 4 hours a day.

  • Nice work. Perfect practice makes perfect! Keep at it. You're way ahead of the curve for your age.

  • i love all of your work; but this one really blows me away! you obviously are very gifted and talented...and you work hard! i wish you all the best!

  • little drumer boy , you have risen above the Norm

  • good for his age, but the timing is way off in alot of parts. some comments make it seem like he is the next neil peart.

  • I should clarify that timing consists of two components: precision and accuracy. In percussion these must be applied within the context of two domains: internal (sense of timing) and external (actual play).

Neils precision is actually remarkably good when playing a simple pattern (I have measured

it many times with a rhythm watch). Since his precision is good playing a simple pattern, I have concluded that his poor accuracy here results from bio-mechanical issues (AKA: insufficient practice).

  • Im really glad you stick up for the poor kid like hes 10 he is the next Neil Peart and don't let anyone change either of your minds because the kid is unbelievable..

  • I wasn't making excuses for him (he does need to practice more), just pointing out, that his internal sense of timing is actually very good (check out his cover of "who are you"), but he certainly did fail to translate it into the correct movements at points in this recording...

  • hey dont mean to sound harsh but it sees like your pushing him pretty hard. its god that you make him practice just make sure you dont make it a chore for him. drums are fun so he should have fun doin it. maybe i miss understood what you said.

  • sweet man! nice! ur really good for ur age! it's also good that u listen to rush and not the gay music that is coming out today.(everybody got mixed feeling about the function and the form, everybody got to elevate from the norm)

  • Hey! This is Dave (Above the Norm) from Counterparts. Nice job! Keep up the good work. I LOVE seeing younger kids getting into good bands like Rush. In world full of Maroon 5's and that crud, it's nice to see real music is still alive and well. You go, kiddo!

  • VERY impressive, you're going to grow up to be better than Neil if you keep playing man, nice fills.

  • saw this linked on the CP Forums. Pretty darn awesome. Keep it up!!!

  • damn kid ur really good for ur age. hell ur really good. also u r knowledgeable about good talent. if u keep listening to rush u will get even better. u and neil peart rock

  • Hi,

This is Neil. Thanks for the kind words!

  • woohooo! a most awesome job! this is a chick from the Counterparts Rush website posting on my son't utube account- keep it up!!!

  • Hey, I'm from CP too! Waz up?

Nice playing! I love Vital Signs. You did an awesome job!

  • Very good! Keep working at it, and you'll have it perfect some day! It's damn close though. Very impressive to play like this at your age!

Bring your snare drum and hi hat closer in towards the kit. It will become easier to play, once you don't have to reach so far for things!

    Once again, Very nice.
