  • Perfection!! I will never questioon GOD but I must say that I hope it was worth it. I just love this band and wish often that the plane never went down and where they would be now and what hits would we be rockin to. I am sure it was only the beginning!!! I lost my father while we were riding our Harley Davidsons and I learned after his passing that I must be greatful for the time I did get and not wine about the times I didn't get because I could have had none!! GOD bless.

  • The best of the best!!!!!!!

  • Southern rockin blues, baby! God bless Skynyrd!

  • Holy shit the guitar solo part involving all three of them is epic. Love how ronnie is completely mesmerized by the slide guitar playing ability of steve gaines

  • Give me a "C" for Cardinals -- team kicked the ass offa me!

  • Simply legendary, thanks for posting it.

  • that slide before gary starts playing is epic

  • air guitar@1:05 DWEEB

  • these guys knew how to have a good time

  • What dvd is this from?

  • "Don't let that Flag hit th

    \e ground."

  • i ment it sounds like the song one way out by the Allman Bros

  • no disrespect but this sounds alot like one way out by the Allmans. still a great song just sounds like the Allmans song

  • @radwaygreen Which song? I don't they the Allman Bros ever performed this song.

  • @radwaygreen out of all the songs skynyrd did before the crash only 4 or 5 were covers, everything else was theirs. skynyrd didnt copy allman bros its more like allman brothers copied jimmy rodgers. this is skynyrds cover of "t for texas" by jimmy rodgers. you may ask allman where he got the sound for "one way out" he should tell you jimmy rodgers. hope this clears things up.

  • @dirtyirvin :Actually One Way Out was originally recorded by Elmore James and Sonny Boy Williamson II...no disrespect towards Jimmy Rodgers...

  • @dirtyirvin The original T for texas by jimmy rodgers sounded nothing like this version. It was actually more of a slow country song. Skynyrd pretty much took his words and put it to the song "one way out". Same key, same single guitar intro (different lick), same stops at the end of each progression, same swapping of leads in the solo section, same ending where the band stops and the singer has his "solo", in fact the ending lick is almost exactly the same.

  • @MrSkizicks88 i was thinkin the same thing , i love jimmt rodgers, i love the allman brothers and i really love skynyrd

  • I am so sick of Lynyrd Skynryd, my so called asshole of a boyfriend plays this all the time and i am sick of hearing the same group all the time. You people can trash me for my comment but i don't give a damn. Enough is enough.

  • @trslonewolf Give us a kiss.

  • One of the top 5 best bands to have ever come from the South!! The South will rise again but not how most of you expect it!!! It will be coming thru the airwaves..Southern Rock is on the come back!!! We will rise again!!!

  • Great sound. Good job, Somebody!

  • RONNIE AND BAND BROTHERS

  • ronnie had a damn good time just watchin the band play this song you could see it on his face HELL YEAH

  • beesleeper is a brainwashed lib

  • @beesleeper

haha, guy where are you from? You have an interesting view of Texas....ignorant, but interesting. Out of all the things you could talk smack about, you choose politicians, haha. Why don't you go play in traffic for a while.

    Sincerely, Proud Texan

  • That look in Ronnie's eye when Steve is wailing away says "I don't see you as a threat............... you've just made my band even BETTER!"

  • HELL YEAH.....skynerd....pour some jack please!

  • Can I get in trouble for that?

  • Skynyrd was, and is the reason I still play drums. I would endlessly play the entire, " One More From The Road" album until I had every drum beat down cold!

  • TEXAS is the laughingstock clown state of the USA. Perry had just been shown to be a clown and liar. You can travel all through Texas and these FAKE tough guys will just shit themselves. Pendejos. They will also piss themselves and call to "Jesus" their sky daddy to protect them.

  • @beesleeper Your point of view on Texas is stupid, blind, and or both at best. A state like Texas should be the roll model for the other 49 states on how to have a great economy, liberty, and freedom. You are most likely a person that sits on your fat ass all day eating tortilla chips, and salsa, drinking beer while watching CNN.

  • @bobby71164

I can only second that vision of Texas, what a great State that is! The Texans are the greatest people too, nothing like that good ol' Southern hospitality. But you don't mess with Texas. Ever.

  • @JJHS1977 So true JJ. Never mess with Texas. EVER!!!!!!!!!

  • @JJHS1977 So true JJ. Never mess with Texas. EVER

  • I'm a Hardwood Logger, all day, everyday I hear the sounds of equipment, saws, skidder, trucks, loaders, yelling and screaming, but thru it all, (Ha-Ha! they don't know!!) I have a "concert" goin off inside My head!! every note, every key, every drumbeat, I hear em playing! I use the Big Saw to Fell and Buck like Allen plays guitar.I Thank God for 34 years of Rocking out while working, I can't imagine a day sawwing without Ronnie singing,Allen,Gary,Ed,Leon,Billy, all the band,FOREVER MISSING YOU!RIP!

  • Don't let that flag hit the ground!

  • @RailfanFuzz i also agree, my mom wants to move to new york, but i just dont agree, im southern born and wanna live here my whole life, and you cant trust anybody up, my sister got screwed over by a realtor and an owner in new york, we lost 500 dollars and when we came back down to miami, they wanted us to come and get it, in the south you can make a deal from a handshake and go to court on that, and that s where my mom wants to move my family

  • does it get any better than this? no trick lightshow,no effects, just a shithot band blasting away!

  • skynrd loved america!

  • "Don't let that flag hit the ground", "Make it rain". Goosebumps and chills!!

TIGHT JAM!! Not one note missed, and not one mistake. Epic Perfection. Aftter that performance (without question the best act of the day) the Rolling Stones might as well went the hell home!! The best part of this act is that all three guitarist shared solo jams and made it all kick ass!

This band is without a doubt the best live act ever!!!!

  • Skynyrd doesn't "play" here.....Uh-Uh. They IGNITE!

  • WoW!!! what an awesome display of guys who know how to JAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Here's to REAL music!

  • 1:04 thats is Ray Manzarek of the doors?

  • @MrGrahambongo, Thats Awesome, what piece of music history you were part of, and yes the stage did look funny to me aswell, but you are right, it does kinda sorta, sorta kinda look like the rolling Stones logo...LOL. was always wondering why it looked that way..lol.

  • My favorite band without a doubt. Very sad what happened in 77’ R.I.P to RVZ, Steve Gaines, and Cassie......And R.I.P also to Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson, and Billy Powell......LONG LIVE SKYNYRD!

  • NOW ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO BUILD A TIME MACHINE!!

  • RVZ was so fucking cool!

  • Wow, quite an accomplisment, knowing about all the folk that live in the New England states. Come on brother, we don't need no stinkin's racists; or badges! I don't care if they're keeping it to themselves or openly racist I don't want to hear and I don't want to see the facial expression of the one's trying to hide it! This is Rock & Roll, Southern style; it's not about being racist! This band isn't about that, it's all about the music and of course the women that love it!

  • Looks like 9 people are T for Total Fucking Morons.

  • skynyrd rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HOT DAMN!!!!!! I need a hot buttered BISCUIT to go along with that fine Southern JAM!!!

P.S....and to the 9 people who clicked "dislike".......you people are just to stupid to breathe by yourselves!

    SKYNYRD NATION FOREVER!!!!!

  • I almost cry when I look back at these old vids. I miss the hell out of this music and these good ol' boys. Damn it all to hell, this was the BEST band ever put together. Damn the tragedy that has befallen these boys

  • Steve Gaines remains a very under-rated talent, He was a great player, writer ,performer, & a monster musician w/ many talents..He just put LS over the top when they decided to add him as the 3rd lead/rhythm guitarist..the fact was not that he was Cassies lil bro, but the fact that he was just too good to let him slide thru the fingers of the band..He also was a very good vocalist and Ronnie had no problem letting him sing along...R.I.P. Steve & Cassie Gaines...

  • @MOSKII58 Agreed. In fact, his work on I Know A Little was part of the reason I bought a guitar.

  • @sdgakatbk yup right on miss his presense...

  • @MOSKII58 No doubt about it!

  • @MOSKII58 Mr. Ed King said he'd rather play the long version of Freebird twice than play "I know a little". I have never seen Anybody get that one on the money !

  • 9 pessoas ñ sabem oq é musica de verdade! viva o southern rock -\--/

  • Allen Collins solo! The best part in the song! this is better than watever anyone i know listens too!

  • Ronnie kind of looks like a hippie Roger Clemens.

  • Rossington, Collins, and Gaines at their best! Skynyrd's version is one of the few covers that do justice!

  • quality quality quality !!! What a tune !!!!!!!

  • Rockin'! If you get a chance, check out Jimmy Rodgers' version on Youtube!

  • Not sure how many times I've cranked this one up, but it's just as good every time. Kickass jam.

  • If this song doens't whip another crack on your ass, nothing will!

They don't make music like this anymore.

  • 4:38 "sure I left the stove on", 4:45 "nah its probably fine"

  • 9 people should have been on skynyrd's plane instead of them!. RIP! ALLEN COLLINS IS A FUCKING BEAST!

  • Okay, to ANYBODY listening and looking at this, Could ANYONE possibly perform and play BETTER than this....HELL NO!!!

  • @dburse66 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • "Make it rain". WOW!!! Jimmy Rogers would be proud of these boys!! Jacksonville, Florida's FINEST Sons!!! + The "Okie" tearin it up on guitar. Just plain damn good funky rock and roll!! Long live the Skynyrd Nation.

  • The guitar work in this tune is amazing and Ronnie knows it, I love the way he digs on all the guitar solos, 3 guitar players and they never got in each others way - musically speaking.

  • WOW 9 people are deaf or dumb or both .

  • Great stuff from one of my all time favourite bands!

Gotta comment though that whoever edited the footage needed a boot up the backside. I mean surely they could have got the camera on the right guitar player more then just a few times?

  • 0:10 omg it's Jimi Hendrix supporting his fellow rockers

  • Ed and Barb your 1967 camaro was never as fast as mine!!! lol. Love those days you and me I remember flying down I 95 with our head lights off , Super Tuners cranked up..1977 Auguta Maine

  • BEST BAND OF ALL TIME...NOPE NOT THE BEATLES,NOPE NOT ZEPPLIN,NOPE NOT THE STONES ,,I SAID SKYNYRD IS THE BEST BAND OF ALLLL TIME....

  • IM STILL AMAZED AT THIS THIS TALENT ...........WELL LOST ART AGAIN FADING

  • You've just watched the greatest live Rock band in history. Don't worry Ronnie we haven't even come close to forgettin you. How could we!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • at 4:36 ronnie so proud of his oakie , that boy was jammin! Steve gaines , Gary Rossington , and Allen Collins - all amazing guitarists listen to them all trade off jam sessions on this song lol

  • Lord! Is that enough sound equipment @2:57

  • @MrFishtaco567 those are only cabs with amp heads for bass and both guitar

  • @MrFishtaco567 that isnt just lynyrd skynyrd's gear, they only used peavey, alot of the gear shown on the stage is from other bands playing the knebworth concert that day like the stones

  • Was there in 1976 with my favorite girl Leslie Whitlock - was a great day and very hot - Skynyrd were by far the best - no other group came close on even a single song - Skynyrd were tight musically and every one was talented - they combined in a unique way that was sunsequently coped by so many others. That concert was best ever and I have seen 100s live - the world will never forget Skynyrd. Good job 92586tony for uploading.

  • Ronnie's got this look like "I can't believe were doin' this, this is the best thing ever"

  • not since 1776 have so few Americans kicked so much British Ass.

  • there will never be a band so tight as Skynyrd was in those days, From recording to live they Are by the best band that you ever saw. I believe this is by far the best song they ever played !

  • @captjack2112 The irony is that Leonard Skinner considered the various students who became part of Lynyrd Skynyrd lazy, irresponsible, shiftless and lacking dedication. And then they became one of the most disciplined. well-practiced, dedicated rock 'n roll bands in history.

  • One of the greatest bands of all time! The camera people sucked. Every solo that happens they show people in teh crowd instead of whoever was soloing

  • One of the greatest bands of all time!

  • I love this! Great guitars, great song! Hell, whole group is great!

    Who can wish for more?

  • GREATEST concert EVER.......

  • "Make it Rain" 00:45

  • youtube.com/watch?v=Zyvaa58NEpI

  • Greatest band ever, this event is part of the proof. The south dont have to rise again, it lives in the hearts of every man woman and child on earth that has a soul.

  • why not just enjoy the music... History lessons, black and white, politics, hatred.. what a waste of time and energy... Skynrd jam hard.... end of discussion...

  • Slavery was a minute part of it. Go to school and learn something before you call names. You proved that you are a brainwashed liberal. SDo you believe all the lies told to you?

  • just so we all on the same page about the "rebel flag".. that was MCA's publicity prop ... Ronnie said he didn't want to be known as "a southern rock band".. he called his music.. "the common man's music"... that was his words in a interview..

  • GREATEST SOUTHERN ROCK BAND IN THE HISTORY OF MUSIC!!! Skynard is LEGEND!!!

  • I wish I had been there. You wonder how many of the audience knew them before they performed on that day and how many of them became loyal fans afterwards

I mean you can't deny how well they performed on that day and thier songs fit the day perfectly. I dont think the audience came there to be put to sleep with slow weepy love songs. I think Rock and Roll and partying was on thier minds.

Lynyrd Skynyrd deliverd the goods and they performed near perfectly. The music was clear and precise.

  • oops heres the link youtube.com/watch?v=Zyvaa58NEpI

  • Please have a listen to my piano solo on this song. I tried to get it as close as possible to Billy.

  • this is the show where skynyrd blew the stones off the stage.

  • Country at its best. This sort of music i could listen to all day.Ditto David Allan Coe,Merle Haggard,Johnny Cash,Waylon Jennings,Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams etc.

  • One word: Owned.

  • Steve Gaines was just coming into his own as a songwriter when that plane crashed in October 1977 (check out "I Know a Little" for a sample of his abilities). I wonder what great music was ahead for the Skynyrd band? Go with God Steve, Ronnie and Cassie.

  • @johnbubbanewsdude dont forget Billy and Allen man. they up there too

  • what a fucking jam !!

  • highway music, hell, miles after miles at top speed.

  • 4 minutes IN to this song, they're just getting warmed-up! Oh-BOY, could these guys ever kick some serious butt!

  • Ronnie's smile of approval of steven's slide kills me,

brings tears to my eyes every time i see it,

ladies and gents you are watching raw genius.

Never to be duplicated again, they were just that different, special.

  • RVZ was a wise and conscience man..totally committed to being what he was,a legitimate soul singer, and the farthest thing from being dumb enough to consider race issues..A real man.

  • i don't know if they're racists, only know what their music is amazing

    GO LYNYRD GO RIP BILLY

  • Knebworth Fair, 1976 England, Rolling Stones are the headliners, Lynyrd Skynyrd blows them off the stage. 250,000 people in the middle of an English drought, no OD's noone hurt, one of the greatest concerts in Rock"n"Roll History in my opinion, just watch Gary, Allen Steve, play those Guitars, watch Leon rock teh hell outta that bass, Artie on drums,Billy boy on the piano, and of course Ronnie stalking the stage watching his friends and bandmates the way only Ronnie can do I love you guys.

  • @acdc197469 I did not realize that this clip was of that concert. Thanks for the information.

  • @acdc197469

It is stuff like this that makes me believe n da power Jesus Ronnie was a modern day Mozert!

  • @acdc197469 Stones were 4 years past their prime and Skynyrd was at the top of their game. What a show that must've been.

  • @acdc197469 I went to this concert and never realised it was filmed. Lynayrd Skynyrd was the best act to appear during a really hot day. There was a huge jam on the A1 of 10,000's of people and vehicles from London. We ended up in the field to the left of the sound desk - the funny looking tent in the video. The stage set looked really strange and was supposed to be modelled on the Rolling Stones logo; it didn’t look any thing like it.

  • bobbyozb is right. L.S. was not racist. They were proud of their ancestors that fought in the Civil War and that's their right. Get over it sensitive libs for once!!

  • Who would underwrite a 750K attendence

the gl policy would be 1 million dollars

  • What can compare, NOTHING that is what, 750,000 people at one show,, that is how many they play for now a days in 4 seasons of four years of entire tours, 15 shows maybe with 10K per, 150K per tour, think ronnie didnt have it goin on, think again, average show 10-13K could you even get a liability rider for a 750K show now days?
  • Comment removed

  • This is my all time favorite song by the best group to walk the planet.Just look at the enjoyment they get during the show and the way he looks at Steve!

  • What i can say? Fantastic

  • STEVE NO ONE CAN HANG WITH YOU!!! YOU WERE IN A CLASS ALL TO UR SELF MAN!!

  • 250 thousand fans blowen away by skynyrd

  • It was the best day ever, was amazing, Skynyrd blew everyone of the stage & should of been headling & not the Stones!
