For the sake of not handicapping a striker, I wish they would allow kicks and knees to the head of opponents on the ground. As Vanderlei Silva has done to Sakuraba or Malaipet to Thomas Denny by elbow to back of head, strikes can be deadly too. But if you don't allow it in the down range, you give all advantages to the grappler when in fact striking could be even more dangerous.

Illegal or not Chinese referees are notorious for making bias rulings favoring Chinese on fouls in a lot of competitions from sanda competitions to the Chinese version of mma. The only way to win fights in China if your are a foreigner is by KO. The rules probably only apply when Chinese are fighting Chinese or only to the foreigner when fighting Chinese.

NFL translates to National Football League in case you didn't know. Type football in a search and see what comes up. About 10 out of 12 of the results will be NFL related.

@IHateRexRedBird This event was supposed to be held under unified rules, not pride rules. Both fighters agreed to unified rules before the match. Therefore kicking the head of a downed opponent is a foul. However, this bout should have resulted in a no contest, not a win for either fighter.

The other fighter puting is tools to work he won on the feet and finish the fight on the ground with kicks no different than someone knees and elbows to punches to finish the fight but I guess it's unified under there rules right if you were training for downward strikes than you would train differently sense you weren't prepared. I feel sorry not for the illegal attacks but for the circuit your fighting under that don't have fine print of train refs and rules.
