Tarantula venom is quite weak, to a human it wouldn't be much more painful than a bee sting so people can stop commenting saying Nikki put Johns life at risk, they have done worse to each other than bee stings...

Great prank. :) I just had to comment on your comment, though. Actually all tarantulas have venom and are capable of biting and using it on people...Some are more venomous than others. The tarantula you scared your fiance with wouldn't hurt any more than a bee sting at worst if it did happen to bite, luckily. That's why this species is commonly sold in pet shops.

Tarantulas cannot be de-venomized, whether or not you get from an online breeder or a petstore (which buys imported wild caught specimens, I've seen where they get them) and it's impossible to completely take out its venom. It's possible to milk out the venom, but they generate and endless supply. Believe me, I have 105 tarantulas with 16 years of experience
