If I remember correctly, WWE planned on having him undefeated on SmackDown up to WrestleMania, and they were gonna feud Thorn and The Undertaker. It would of been such a classic bout and moment for WrestleMania. Too bad WWE dropped the gimmick, but they're known to drop what the fans like these days. Same thing happened with Paul Burchill's "Pirate Jack Sparrow" gimmick.

The story went that Mordecai was having bad fits of stage fright during this time and he couldn't perform. I was disappointed they opted for a generic darkity-darkness vampire gimmick for him when he came back as Kevin Thorn... so lame. I think the Mordecai gimmick deserves another chance.

@SlicRic81 Well, between being nervous and requesting to be sent back down and getting involved in a barfight, I can understand why they dropped it. This is a gimmack that you really have to have a lot of confidence in yourself to pull off properly. The man was still young and just got called up to the big time. I think it may have been just a little too soon for him. Even The Undertaker went through a few regular gimmacks in the big leagues before becoming the Deadman.
