  • i am not Ethiopian but I love the music. I have a lot of friend that are oromo and they always play the music at parties. I wish I knew what they were saying. Do they have a lanuage cd for oromo?

  • Wow, I am Somali born in Ethiopia, I consider my self to be an ethio-Somali because i am both, I really like this song. For all you haters out there weather that you are Somali, Oromo, or Amharic, no one cares any ways, Ethiopia is a great nation though run by corrupted leaders just like any other country, if any thing look at Somali, what about freedom, from who i ask, simple them selves.Thank you all. Think about Somalia, and how hate divided them and destroyed all their lives.Stop the hate.

  • i liked this but I wish it weren't so repetitive.

  • I love music fro Walloo. Sirbi kun hedduu shagaadha; nan jaaladha. Durba Walloo silaa argadhee nan fuudha.

  • is it just me or does the oromo and amharic dance look a like

  • These are the Wello Oromos who, like Raya Oromos, basically mixed with the Semites out of the Axum Empire due to proximity and today hard to tell where the differential line is - lots of borrowing back and forth.

  • @Abebe345 FYI: Oromo pple. who had their own beautiful culture did not need to borrow dances or songs from any other nation. The sad fact is that they were colonized and were forced to take other people's culture and dance. People who know histroy know that Oromos fought back against their enemies. Howebver, they were over powered by European war planes that bombed them to total destruction. England provided all the war heads.

  • i like this song

  • i like the dance!

  • wallo kamissee

  • wow!!!!! I am proud of you, keep it up.

  • I love this song and performance!!

  • jabadha farfaannaa

  • jabadha mean crazy in saho and afar

  • wallo is always oromiya and sooner or later they will be freed with the mainland oromo...fuck stupid habashas

  • Ethiopian history is full of on ethnic group invading anotther. Oromos original place is southern Ethiopia and Northern Kenya. Oromos Invaded Much of Ethiopia in the 16th century and claiming everything for you means the same as Amharas claiming bale, wollega, Illubabur , Jima, Arsi and Harrar. Oromos ruled as far as southern Tigray and Gondar at one time. But that doesn't entitle them to claim everything is theirs. And Wallo is the origin of Amharas and Agaws

  • True, but the word "Wollo" is Oromiffa.

  • Yes the name Wollo is Oromiffa. But that is not good enough to lay claim on it. For that matter the word Kenya and Mombassa are also Oromiffa words. Kenya or Kegna means ours and Mombassa means port in Oromiffa.

  • Wow I had no idea. And I think it might of been you who said Amharic is from Agew with Ge'ez influence. If anything it's the other way around. Amharic is much more similar to Tigrinya/Ge'ez than it is Agew. My father who is fluent in both Tigrinya and Amharic says that 40% of the languages either share the same words are are very similar. Even Ye Sekota Agew and Ye Awi Agew are different. Apparently Wolloye Agews and Gojamey agews cannot understand one another.

  • Yes it makes sense as i have seen Tigrigna speakers become very fluent in Amharic within 3 months of their arrival in Addis. But the Agew influence on Amharic may be on the Sounds as tigrigna has many sounds made on the throat, often difficult for other speakers. if the Agew of Sekota and the Agew of Awi (Gojjan) don't understand each other, they must have been radicalized by Meles Zenwi ethnic doctrine. i see them on you-tube crying ethnicity a lot. don't hate me since i touched your god lol

  • This has nothing to do with politics so give it up. I have only one God and zenawi is nowhere near that. N e way this dialect of Agew was created over centuries not the last 18 years. People from Gondar understand Shewan Amharic just fine. I agree the Agew influence must be on the sounds of Amharic not the actual words. Tigrigna kept the "throat" accent from the Ge'ez language.

  • Wrong. 'Kenya' was named after Mt .Kenya, which is a shortened version of the kikuyu name 'Kirinyaga'. That name in turn was taken from the Swahili 'kere nyaga' (mountain of whiteness) because of the snow on the mountain. Mombasa is derived from Omani arabs that named it 'Manbasa'.

  • 'Wollo' is definitely Oromo. Wollo - a branch of the Barentuma Oromo.

  • so we can say the abbysinians came from yemen or that their land is gonder and gojam?

  • @kushlion

Now you see the problem of narrow mindedness. the attitude that says "this land is mine" can always be disproved. The best thing is to avoid the barrier of language and ethnicity and live under one nationality giving less emphasis on narrow ethnicity.

  • so if one claims he comes from his country he is narrow minded?? you people are so stupid. god. take that crap and shove it up yours okay? man am tired of you chauvinists

  • Comment removed

  • @Vjeya since you love this one nationality thing, how about we live under an oromo ruler with oromo language as official language. How does that sound?

  • good job

  • Excellent, Oromo song! Keep it up this an Incredible performance!

  • KAMISE!!!! jabadha
