  • Scientology is a dieing cult that can't survive without Hubbards leadership.

  • yeah its a huge ass cult. desteni productions is not a cult though. you should check them out and what they stand for, which is equality and oneness so we can put an to all this bs that we are creating, like scientology.

  • Great rundown of the main characteristics and nature of this cult.

  • Kill a few and you're a murderer. Kill a million and you're a conqueror.

    Convert a few and you're a cult. Convert a million and you're a religion.

  • if you ask LRH? You can't... he dropped the body already ... .

  • $cientology is an evil cult. Educate yourselves:

xenu . net (great place to get the real facts about the cult)

exscientologykids . net (ran by 3 women, one of which is the leader of the cult's niece, lots of horror stories from ex members)

google up "Operation Snow White" and "Deaths In Scientology"

  • great video LeftyBlue especially back in Oct. 07

the trolls were really brutal around that time. Informative and to the point! Hope to hear more from you soon.

  • All religions are cults. Watch BET at 4 in the morning and you'll get some retarded black preacher trying to sell you holy water and magic crackers for $29.99. Show me one Christian evangelical preacher who isn't fat as a hog despite never having done an honest day's work in his life. Religion is a cheap con, "cults" are just the cons which have been introduced in the last century.

  • They go hand in hand. They're both cults.

  • nice video, very informative! breaks everything down quite nicely.

  • Scientology under the control of David Miscavige with the support of his low scale goons has been deteriorated into a vile and obvious confidence trick.

  • Comment removed

  • Moving yourself toward spiritual BANKRUPTCY

  • L Ron Hubbard a higher spiritual being...LMFAO.

  • IT'S A CULT!

  • its no more a cult than Catholicism. You guys pretend to eat flesh and drink blood. And you call THEM the freaks!

  • Wow, your ignorance is very surprising. Check symbolism in the dictionary, then come back and bitch about it.

  • Cult, fool.

  • For Australians, check out: - Church of the New Faith v Commissioner of Pay-Roll Tax (Vic) ("Scientology case") [1983] HCA 40; (1983) 154 CLR 120 (27 October 1983)

Interesting read. And clearly Jedi is a legitimate religion here too.

  • Scientology=Anti-christ if you don't follow and seek god you are without god which leads you straight to hell...

  • very informative, but can you please cite your sources.

  • I got my information from various sources. For the quotes, I did a google search for Hubbard quotes. My information about the CoS is from xenuDOTnet and from various former members. What specifically did you want sources for? My definitions for a cult were stated in the video: cultinformationDOTorg.

  • I'm doing an assignment for class and I choose Scientology as my topic. By the way, I also found that apparently Scientology Churches do have some kind of Sunday service that seems to be open to the public. I've never been to one, but other people on the Internet said that it involves a church representative reading a few articles from L. Ron Hubbart and then having people stare at random objects for like 15 minutes.

  • LOL sounds about right for what a "service" might involve. As for "religious" well that's questionable. They do a lot of object staring - all days of the week, not just Sunday.

  • All religion is a cult.

  • you are quite wrong.

  • missionarys

    bible camps

    sunday schools

    mass it self

    repenting your past actions

being told is a sin to question

sorry but a cult is a religion and religion is a cult

it depends on how you veiw it and were taught to accept it

cult is when the guru abuses power, but all religions abuse and take advatage of there ability to influence the minds and actions of others

look at the slogan....have you been saved yet, saved from what? let me show you...boom recruting tactic

  • so you tell me what major religion doesnt cunt as a cult and i will prove you wrong, because yes not all religion is a cult, pagans in africa that worship trees and spirits are not recruting and what not but, islam, all forms of christains, jews, mormons, buddhists, hindus, cabal, johova wittness, and many smaller religions aswell

  • all religion is a cult

im against scientology because they will sue you for copyright.....

the pope will not sue you for reprinting the bible, or creating your own sec.

people who protest them for conflicting beliefs make me sick

scientology is a religion, if i want to worship a rock, its a religion, but slandering memmbers who question there faith is wrong

protest for the right reasons or go home

  • BADTimmy - Not ALL religion is a cult. There are certain specific guidelines to determine is a group is indeed a cult. Not all religions qualify.

There is more to protest about in Scientology than just the copyright infringement.

Anonymous isn't protesting the beliefs of Scientology. It's the criminal and corrupt actions of the CoS.

By your own definition, if you worship a rock, it's a cult?

  • what about the criminal and corrupt actions of christians?

in the 1800s christians would kill you if you questioned there doctrine, as many others did

all religions go about donig things the same as Scientology, they suround you with people telling you how great there life is from it, and have so called moral ethics that must be followed.

    thetans = sin

    auditing = confession

    sp = heretic

  • This is true, Christians do have a history of violence as did many ancient religions but they have evolved. Scientology is a 50 year old scam. Scientology also has a prison camp, did you know that?

Thetans is actually spirit or soul. Not sin.

  • a thetan is the cause of a bad action or feeling, and must be rid of by confession, different when defined by words but same thing in retrospect

and at one point christians were considered a cult, thats why jesus was killed, he was a cult leader

christianity is a scam to, most religions are, what makes it a cult or a religion is your veiw point

and by the way when a christian church asks for a % of your income dont laugh, it makes god cry

  • You might want to do some research about what makes a group a cult. There are guidelines for determining if a group is a cult. It's not just my view point.

  • no its a veiw point, an eye of the beholder thing, and yes i can cite and define it all you want.

and defined a cult is a religious sec in witch the guru or leader abuses his power over the group, cause destructive actions....like a crusiade, or a witch hunt, suscide bombing or telling small children they are born with sin and will go to hell if you do not follow, then tell them you love them....right

    badtimmyds check list:

    understanding what makes a cult a cult....check

  • Once again - it's NOT a viewpoint or opinion. There is an objective checklist for determining if a group is a cult or not. Try rickrossDOTcom

  • all religion are cults look up the word.

  • Not exactly. There are specific conditions that make a cult different than a religion.

  • you know what your right. I oplogize.

  • ya i guess violence is not the answer i just got a little hyped up over the innocent people scientologists killed. I do believe scientology will eventually die out though I dont think it can compete so well against christian/catholics. I believe satanism is a cult as well because i think they have or used to do human sacrifices since they believe in the devil. Or is scientology somewhat associated with the religion satanism?

  • Interesting question. Hubbard actually was a fan of Allister Crowley who was involved in The Occult and Black Magic. It is said that he borrowed some aspects of Crowley's leadership and used them in the development of Scientology.

  • I think scientology is a cult and they should be eliminated from the face of the earth. Cause I think there murderous they killed innocent people like Lisa Mcpherson if scientology dies I think alot of lives would be saved. Im not trying to make a threat to scientology here but I'm just saying I wouldnt be surprised if a group of scientology haters destroy scientology by bombing the church or setting it on fire or some people may just kill a bunch of scientologists. Anyway nice vid.

  • Violence is not the answer. I know it's frustrating what the Scientologists do but we can't treat violence with violence. Anonymous is doing it the right way, by protesting the leadership and the corruption in the CoS. By making people aware of the crimes of the CoS.

  • The CoS will implode upon themselves because the internet + anonymous = lack of control for the CoS. They fight so hard to control every aspect but these two entities make it impossible for them to control anymore.

  • christians and muslims kill more then scientology ever has

  • If you're simply talking leadership, Hubbard was the cult leader. Scientology is in line with all characteristics that make up a cult. No members of a cult see their group as a cult but that doesn't mean that it isn't one. Also, there's nothing religious about Scientology so no, it's definitely NOT a religion.

  • going on what youve come up with for "cult," i think the word still fits CoS

  • It absolutely does! Hubbard studied mind control techniques and used them to maintain control over the members.

  • Ehh i'd have to disagree that a religion has to have a higher power (Taoism comes to mind). I think it is more like an organization that aims to define the indefinite with regard to the universe and how it impacts each believer. So I think that when we use "cult" it really should be something like "a belief system that few people subscribe to, and so it may seem strange." Now, as far as CoS (and the TRC) being sneaky, money hogs, yeah, but ehh. If its free, and if they trashed the attitude... :D

  • Fair enough but regardless of what form spiritual enlightenment takes, you don't have to pay money to get it. This isn't the case in the CoS. What "religion" would charge you to learn what they believe? Know what I mean?

  • check scientology dot org for more

  • Yes, go there and then go to xenu(dot)net for the other side of things. Decide for yourself what you want to believe.

  • Since T Cruise is a 'higher up', i wonder how much he's pocketing from Scientology?

  • this is so good

  • Wow, thank you! I'm making a new one tonight.

  • are religions are bull really . science is the real answer to the universe

  • Scientology....mormons...the leaders must have read the same how to book. Religion for fun and profit...oops prophet? naw I had it right the first time!

  • Hehehe! Profit/prophet. Too funny and very true! Thank you for your comment, dougnorb. Profit is right! Profit and lots of it!

  • you speak the truth

  • Most fanatic religious groups use just about any means necessary to recruit. Belittling and demeaning individuals to the point of "breaking". Cos and LDS are just about in the same boat. They both worship mortal human men that have shown NO prophetic actions...ever. I can believe in what one man says and use it to better myself but I will not subject myself to ridicule and persecution to become quote unquote better.

  • Nice job!

  • Thank you! Just doing my part to spread the truth about $cientology.

  • Scientology is ridiculous, but dangerous at the same time. It is definitely a cult.

  • You are absolutely right on all counts, Morbidgenius! It is ridiculous and dangerous and most definitely a cult.

  • same for religions

  • Cult.

  • Religion/Cult what's the difference? It's all the same.

  • I never heard of a religion that you had to pay to get higher up.

  • Haha...I agree. It's one of the concepts that support that it's not a religion.

  • Scientology is so funny... why do you have to pay to be a scientoligest or however you spell it

  • Scientology AKA Peoples Temple

  • "When somebody enrols, consider he or she has joined up for the duration of the universe - never permit an 'open-minded' approach... If they enrolled, they're aboard, and if they're aboard they're here on the same terms as the rest of us - win or die in the attempt." - L. Ron Hubbard, KEEPING SCIENTOLOGY WORKING, 7 February 1965, reissued 27 August 1980

  • This is exactly why they claim they have 10 million members. They consider anyone who walks in the door of an org to be a member, anyone who took their "stress test" to be a member. In reality, it's probably more like 100,000.

  • "Scientology is used to increase spiritual freedom, intelligence, ability and to produce immortality." - L. Ron Hubbard, DIANETICS AND SCIENTOLOGY TECHNICAL DICTIONARY, copyright 1975, reprinted 1987, p. 370

  • "I'd like to start a religion. That's where the money is." - L. Ron Hubbard to Lloyd Eshbach, in 1949; quoted by Eshbach in OVER MY SHOULDER: REFLECTIONS ON A SCIENCE FICTION ERA, Donald M. Grant Publisher. 1983

  • THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN CONTROL PEOPLE IS TO LIE TO THEM. You can write that down in your book in great big letters. The only way you can control anybody is to lie to them." - L. Ron Hubbard, "Off the Time Track," lecture of June 1952, excerpted in JOURNAL OF SCIENTOLOGY issue 18-G, reprinted in TECHNICAL VOLUMES OF DIANETICS & SCIENTOLOGY, vol. 1, p. 418

  • Great video. Hope to see more.

  • Thank you! I'm planning to do more. There certainly is no lack of material when it comes to this topic. Glad you liked it

  • Great video hon!

  • No higher spiritual being?

    Bullshit.

What do you think the OT levels are?

Lost all credibility, you know nothing about the topic your speaking about.

  • I beg to differ. OT levels are NOT about a higher being. They're supposed to be about getting closer to enlightenment. It has nothing to do with belief in a higher being. OT has nothing to do with God.

  • I look forward to watching the next video you make several good points and your argument is sound..then again looking at your opponent there isn't much intelligence backing them. They are a dangerous cult and the masses among the internet and such are moving as one to take down or at least annoy the hell out of these crazed bastards! good job on the vid!

  • Sure sounds like a cult to me.

  • A cult is a group of people who worship a person or an object, which Scientologists do neither. A religion is a philosophy that contains an ethical code, and deals with the human spirit. Hence Scientology has been bona fide as a religion.

  • Clearly you don't know much about cults (other than how to join one). They are not about worshiping a person or object. It's about group mentality. It's about defending their cause againt ANYONE who criticises, and the belief that their group is the ONLY correct one and that everyone else is wrong. Cults teach their members to block out any incoming critical thought or logic. They believe their way is the ONLY way. Sorry, Scientology - not a religion.

  • As I said, hence, Scientology is not a cult.

  • Oh really. You're going to sit there and tell me that Scientologists DON'T jump down the throat of ANYONE who criticises them?(like you're doing)? That Scientology is open-minded about what other people believe? That Scientologists WELCOME logical discussion from non-believers? And that they aren't told that anything critical about them is just propaganda and is all lies - no matter how sound or logical?

  • Well we have been discussing it haven't we.

  • It's a CULT - no doubt about it! They live a life of blackmail. They extract private information about people & threaten to expose them if they wish to leave the cult! Oh & L Ron Hubbard was one of the biggest crooks on the planet - a drug dealer & money swindler!

  • Absolutely! Hubbard was many things. He made up this valoric history for himself - all of which was bullshit, of course.

  • umm. let me help you. CULT.

L Ron was an idiot. He had serious phsycological problems. His own "religion" couldnt save him as he died alone and paranoid. It didnt help his family either. 3 wifes and his son commited suicide.

  • Alright..I wouldn't go so far as to say that he's an idiot. It takes a lot of intelligence to be able to fool this many people. He didn't have a lot of what we should call "application skills."

He didn't know how to apply his intelligence to make society better. He was just another brilliant mind with little humanity.

  • Ok, i wont say idiot if you dont say brilliant. I think we are both off. Meet in the middle somewhere. Maybe an above average intelligence with extreme phsycotic episodes and narcacistic rage?

  • We won't confuse common sense and smarts. INTELLIGENCE is the inclusion of both, but brilliant is also used for knowledge. He had a lot of knowledge, but not enough common sense to use it properly.

He was smart enough to trick all of the people who believe in Scientology. He knew enough about psychology and science to trick these people, but he just didn't have enough common sense to put it to good use.

  • I don't see the difference between cult and religion.

  • Well, it's a good thing you came across this video then. Go ahead and watch. I assure you, they are VERY different.

  • For more info on cults, go to rickross(dot)com. There is also a Recent Additions" box off to the right on that page. There is an article in there (toward the bottom) about the Tom Cruise video. It defines certain terms and abbreviations that he uses so you can figure out what the hell he's talking about.

  • For those who haven't seen the whole video - go to gawker(dot)com and do a search on Tom Cruise. It's the crazy ass video that's been circulating. TMZ had a shorter version but this is the whole thing. Scary stuff!

  • THANKSSS YOYOYOYOOOOOOOO HOMMIEEEE

  • Thanky you Will. You are welcome to your opinion but keep it on topic or it will be removed.

  • thank you for that. you made it clear and unbiased. thank you for your bravery. toodles.

  • Scientology 'holy of holies', the secret knowledge that would only be revealed to the follower after years of extensive conditioning and parting with large sums of money. Hubbard built various myths around this 'level': One would attain superhuman abilities, read minds, operate as a conscious unit outside the confines of the body, become aware of 'past lives' and so on.

  • Yup! You have to wonder what the people are thinking about though when they dont receive these promised super powers. Scienos are trained to see themselves as to blame for any lack of progress that is made on their "bridge to total freedom". The answer is always to "take more courses". And the vicious cycle continues.

  • true, but have you seen it lately.

  • There is no difference between a cult and a religion. Christianity is the biggest and most destructive cult of all time.

  • I beg to differ. Scientology is way more destructive than Christianity. And there IS a difference between a cult and a religion. If you paid attention to the video, I told you the differences.

  • then show me their inquisition. show me there crusades where they killed countless unbelievers in most brutal ways. I'm curious.

The most significant difference between a cult an a religion to me is that a cult is small. It's a start-up religion. Guess ST is now big enough to qualify as religion, eh?

That religion needs a higher being, isn't that just your personal definition? Maybe a flawed one. Buddhism has no god, do you think it's no religion?

  • I wonder if you were being ironic in your answer to Thinkforyourself78? You said: "there IS a difference between a cult and a religion. If you paid attention to the video, I told you the differences."

Yes, you did explain what you felt the differences were, but this, in itself, is not enough to make it absolute truth, surely? That sounds too close to the fevered certainty of cultists for comfort - "I'm telling you something, therefore it's a fact."

    Enjoyed the film, though. Thanks.

  • I explained the differences but it wasn't what I FELT they were. I was reading from a checklist on a website that explains what cults are. As for the "I'm telling you something, therefore it's a fact", that's exactly what Scientologists say. They even say, "Things are only real if you believe them to be real". I even said at the end, "I'm not speaking for everyone. YOU decide. Look at both lists and decide what you think Scientology is"

  • Hello, LeftyBlue. Yes, Scientologists do say that - and many other questionable things, to boot. I've no problem with your film, merely the response you gave to a visitor: "I TOLD you the differences..." A minor point, true, but this seems rather declarative to me, as if a final truth has been spoken - that's all. (It's sometimes really hard to convey or grasp an intended tone in these limited surroundings - probably why so many needless fights erupt. Ho hum.)

    Kind regards etc...

  • Hi Tender, thanks for your comment. Yes I can see where it might appear that I was making a sweeping declaration (scienos know all about doing that as well LOL). I didn't intend for it to sound like I was the be-all and end-all of information or that the buck stopped with me. Just that he should pay more attention to the video for the points I went over. Thanks for posting! Cheers!

  • Hey LeftyBlue, thanks for that. Peace breaks out - hurrah. We should work for the United Nations, THAT'S how good we are at settling misunderstandings. (Yes, yes - the UN hardly inspires confidence, but you know what I mean.)

Okay, I'm off to watch this Tom Cruise thing you mention. I'm preparing to be kind of horrified, yet morbidly transfixed. Wish me well.

    Kind regards etc...

  • Haha...horrified and morbidly transfixed was exactly my response. You wont believe what an arrogant ass he comes across as! "WE are the authorities..." and blah blah and more blah.

  • Hey Ms Blue, apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Okay, I've watched it. Twice. This was a frothing and boggle-eyed performance by Tom Cruise, bereft of humility and rarely troubling logic. His heart seems to be in the right place, but his brain has clearly gone walkabout. He seems ill to me, unhinged. I think that's a shame, really, because I like him. (I should sue you for making me watch it, though. Ew.)

    Kind regards etc....

  • The Cult of $cientology

  • Pooky - Check out the videos here from "XenuTV". He had a BUNCH of stuff on this cult.

  • You're welcome. That was my goal, to inform and educate. If you learned something from watching my video, I'm happy :-) If you want to talk more about it, go ahead and send me a PM. We'll go from there :-)

  • As for OT level courses I have no idea what they REALLY teach, id rather not assume cos the media and people will always take things out of context and exagerate on things

  • Hmmm interesting and yet Hubbard is quoted as saying, "There is no God" and part of OTIII tells about how religion is all propaganda and we were brainwashed to believe in it.

Then again, since when had Hubbard ever let consistency or logic rule his thinking?

Hubbard also says that Scientology works well with other religions. Again, this is more bullshit.

  • you have taken OT3?

im not dening the fact that there is alot of misleading information inside scientology not to mention the amount of money they charge for their courses.

But its also fair to say that many of their cources do look to better the individual such as in communication and personal efficeny and want to promote a better world free from harmfull drugs, I mean no one wants to live in a world with criminals and the insane.

  • OT3 is the level with Zenu, alien spirits being blown up in volcanoes and body thetans. You don't have to get to the level to know about it. As much as the Scienos want to keep it a secret, a quick google search will do the trick.

The truth of the matter is, criminals and insanity aren't going anywhere. No amount of auditing or courses is going to change that.

The members are brainwashed to believe that the courses are helping them, in order to get them to pay for more courses.

  • Haha dont you think its cool want to belive in xenu and theatans? i mean scientology has that trendy and kinda weird thing about it that makes it so appealing

  • ok! let me start of by saying that im not a scientologist, but your views on scientlogy seems to be recycled garbarge from youtube, like your first statement you said "theres no higher spirtual being in scientology" well obviously you havn't read a book on scientology becasue the 8th dynamic is God and says that God is who you want it to be and that you find it out for yourself.

  • Lies, threats, hierarchy, excessive secrecy, steeply rising prices to get into the higher levels, hard sell, more lies, more hard sell, more threats, harassment, lots of harassment- would any religion do this? NOPE!

  • its a cult.

  • An evil cult that is essentially a crime syndicate based on lies.

  • Nice video, I look forward to future editions.

Just one thing about the 'bait and switch' idea. It's more like being mislead about the true cost and nature of a product and being coerced into purchasing another product which is far more costly. This is what they do at ever level as the recruit is told that there are still more engrams to dispel.

  • Very true, memblor. Regardless of what you call their deceitful methods, their recruits are fed a load of crap about what the purpose of $cientology is. Thank God for the internet where people can do research about it and find out what REALLY goes on.

  • Good info Lefty, thanks. My answer is Cult.

  • LOL mine too but I have a sneaking suspicion that $cientologists would disagree LOL
