You need to realize that the system is only going to recognize and respond to verbal commands when it isn't processing/executing a subroutine, such as a walk, dance, or conflicting stimulus-response. Sony released service packs for the M3 software, but they only tune recognition accuracy and unfortunately didn't resolve this conflict. They can hear and understand just fine- but not while doing other things =)
