DE este modo es como estos cantantes se han metido en los personajes terribles de la ÓPERA fausto, nada más acabar se rien como si hubieran cantado L´ELIXIR D´AMORE.. NI UN MÍNIMO DE SENTIMIENTOS...
@johnnybouhaha I have a sneaky suspicion that Anna is the one needed the book. I doubt she had ever sung this in public - look at the guys' faces in the beginning - they seem to be nodding their approval of her. In any case, the voice is in full bloom - wonderful.
Don't forget Anna stood right in front of the microphone. I heard Jonas Kaufmann several times at the Met and I can tell you he has no problem being heard.
Hogy jó kedvük van? Jogos, hiszen mérhetetlenül sok operarajongónak szereztek csodálatos hangjukkal,előadásukkal valós örömöt! Bravó Anna Netrebko,Erwin Schrott,Jonas Kaufmann!
@sirdicaudore I think this was an encore, that is my assumption, and I also believe that Kaufmann is holding the music out of politeness as this piece is a normal part of his active rep.
@harpguy18 I think that they are ¨laughing¨ because they are singing, I´ll do the same if I could sing. Could you sing?, could you laugh?. No, we have to keep this life of ours. Right?.
@usbcalif Well yes but still it is a serious piece. Encore or not. They need to be serious, the whole joking looks and laughs are not suppose to happen until the piece is over.
wait, people acutally paid money for this, stood up, and clapped?? This is really embarrassing. And Netrebko looks like a drag queen...

It also looks like they're virtually sight reading.

They should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
What particularly gets me is that an audience accepts such an atrocity so enthusiastically.

This is shameful and has nothing to do with Gonoud, Faust or opera for that matter...

now this is what opera should alway's be- great singers letting it fly!!

I wish they didn't hold that book. They could have learnt it by heart, it is not difficult for them.

Jonas didn't need the music and if you watch I Lombardi you will notice that he didn't need it there either, though he never sang the role.

This is an instance of the musician's motto: when in doubt fake it. They are faking it and laughing at themselves.

I feel like a music stand might be helpful in this instance.

I never thought that Netrebko & Schrott had any class, not even a minimum of class. But why Mr Kaufmann? Why are YOU there??? So sad...
