  • just a few hours. :-P

saving a life is worth it though

  • how much does this pay?

  • @robertito026 $125 for 25 cubic centimeters, $200 for 50 cubic centimeters, and $450 for 100 cubic centimeters

  • Yeah that part where she says painful procedure where it's removed from your spinal cord.. now THAT shit hurts..

  • @Anichols321 she said its not removed from you spinal cord

  • I don't think you should get paid any certain amount of money for donating bone marrow. The fact that you're saving a life should be more rewarding then anything else. What if it were you, or your children who needed the bone marrow? Helping someone in need should be the reason you want to donate, not because you'll have extra cash in your pocket.

  • if they can guarranteed me no pain then fine...

  • how much does bone marrow pay?

blood pays, plasma pays im just wondering how much it pays bc i heard its extremely painful so id like to know if id get naything for don'ing

  • @mansonfollower15 blood pays? .. where do you live? XD where im from they give you a cookie and thank you and poof :P

  • How much do you get paid?

  • Ever heard of karma ? Some day it could be you or your child it's a feel good thing : )

  • DIY bone marrow transplants: not reccomended

  • Fuck TV, Ill sleep whilst donating PBSCs... snore the time away

  • they dodn't pay you? i thought you got paid for all bodily donations. ah well, at least they pay for all the procedures to be done.

  • Come out of the closet ! Very Gay ?

  • i will donate but one condition u dont charge nothing to the recipient ..DEAL?

  • She named like ever race except white lol.

  • because the races she named usually have a rare type that are really needed.

  • They should have just said that anyone who's not white is needed. They named all the other races except white.

  • Actually, Colette, if you are European or Japanese there is a much higher chance of finding a match.

For instance if you are white in the US your chance of finding a match is 80% if you are black it is 60%. It is much less for many others.

In Canada, if you are white your chance is 75%, if you are anybody else is it 10-30%, so it important to mention, considering a recipient's likely donor is someone of the same ethnicity.

More people who are European are needed, but it is less severe.

  • Can you request only donating in one procedure?

  • ya you have to help us hawaiian

  • ouch

  • how old do you have to be and do get payed?

  • i dont think theres an age but if there is id say 13 and you dont

  • 18 - 21 + cause u cant be growing to give marrow!

  • ya i know why did they?

  • that shit hurts

  • I know , right? The feeling of you bone marrow being sucked out bring a whole new meaning to pain

  • I think you should read more about actual donation stories. There are things that hurt much more. Go to 1:30 to see why what you said isn't really true.

  • uh not all da time my transfer(reciveing im to young to donate) hurt

  • Hi Graham,

Donor and recipient experiences are not the same, it is much easier on the donor. Also are you talking about a transplant or a biopsy?

Biopsies can hurt quite a lot, and most people think a biopsy and a transplant are the same thing. They're not.

The pain and discomfort are minimal for donors, but I won't lie. They will ache. It is a myth, though, that there is excruciating pain for donors. Many of them confuse it with the pain of a cancer patient's bone marrow biopsy.

  • yha i needed uh bone marrow cuz my like 1 of my organs faild that filterd it er something idr...ill ask my mom lol.

but hinestly i have no clue what 1 that would be im assuming transffer tho but idk

  • Oh my bad then , in my case it was for biopsy. Thanks for the info :)
