  • Its sad they are wrecking that Ram2 tank, that was a nice Canadian tank.

  • are they shooting at a Sherman tank?

  • @Gforst85.

Smoke and HE got a 1300 m range.

    Panser 700 m range.

    Light got a 2000m range.

    Talking practical range that is.

  • oh wow...that was a Ram Tank....a WW2 Canadian vehicle. Very very rare...

  • i think meanbacon is playing to much videogames =P

  • the panser grenade of the cg can penetrate 40 cm (16 inc) panser steel. it has an effeciv range of 1000 m (3300 feet) it leaves a hole that is only 1 inch in diameter but the heat created from the passing projectile makes all the ammo in the tank explode. can also shoot smoke, light and exploding grenades (containing 850 steel bullits witch go off at impact or 10 meters (30 feet) above the target) regards from a former shooter of cg in the norweginan armed forces.

  • @NorwegianTrucker hmm, the you should know that only the smokerounds will go 1000 m, not the rest...;) I also had the CG in the Swedish armed forces, together with a FN minimi 249 Para version :D

  • @MeanBacon I understand how a HEAT missile works. And no HEAT missiles are not the best anti-tank weapon, armor advancements in tanks have drastically reduced the usefulness of the HEAT round. KE penetrators are now much more effective than HEAT rounds. though HEAT rounds are still effective against other vehicles and bunkers.

  • @sniwy You have no idea how a HEAT round works. The entire explosion takes place outside the armor, propelling a jet of metal into the armor that punches, not melts its way in. The biggest danger to the crew is spall (interior shrapnel) and possibly heat and overpressure setting fuel or ammo on fire. That's the short version.

  • @ppitm That's HESH not HEAT.

  • @BonelloUK Certainly not. HESH doesn't penetrate the armor at all. It just creates shockwaves that vibrate it so hard that the inside spalls and kills the crew.

  • @ppitm Finally, someone understands HEAT.I think the acronym doesn't help. The other thing that bothers me is reference to "plasma jet". The metal is undergoing superplastic deformation, it's still a solid, hot yes, but not a plasma.

  • @MeanBacon What? I'm very aware that Infrared can be used as a laser through emitters (which is the system you use on your rifles to aim with NVGs). That's not what i was talking about, you claimed that the Javelin uses a laser targeting system, the Javelin does not. It uses an imaging infrared seeker, in other words, heat seeking. And no the FGM-148 Javelin, and the Javelin surface to air system are two completely different weapons, they do not use similar aiming or similar rockets.

  • isnt that a dead sherman they are firing at?

  • @EZKaiser Are they ever dead enough? Really?

  • @MeanBacon If you work with the weapon, you should know the limitations of the 84mm, an 84mm could not pierce the armor of the abrams.

and woah, where are you getting your info from, the javelin was always an anti tank missile, i think you're confusing it with the Javelin surface to air missile which is a completely different weapon. Also the javelin doesn't use a laser targeting system, it uses an imaging infrared seeker. Do some research before you comment dumbass.

  • @MeanBacon Air Targets, I think not! Was always an anti tank wep!

  • @MeanBacon: Why would a Javelin be fired at an Abrams? Isn't that friendly fire?

  • Considering it's only effective range against a tank is 150 meters compared to the 2000+ on the Javelin?

  • This weapon was made 1948 grgm48 That was some time ago and it still rules. There is some nice uppgrades to it but still, Sweden know how to do it.

  • poor sherman

  • In some cases the round has propellant but no charge.

  • That old thing is probably stuck in place with concrete or something, but you probably wouldn't notice a hole in the armour from that range, especially since it doesn't have any live ordinance inside.

  • Do you see that massive hole on the tank? The one that let´s you see what´s at the other side?

  • It pierces 35 mm armor. An apc or a some tanks in the ass iow.

  • yer it pierces the armour. what happens is when the round hits it forms like a pin with pierces thru the armour heaps fast and then burns everyone on the inside and all the ammo and shit

  • good hit..

  • this weapon will lift a 1100 kg car of the ground (full on concrete)

  • Blammo! I like!
