  • I'm sure that outside of major cities in China the education statistics quickly teeter off. An over educated population just means more competition for jobs. I think we've pretty much over saturated the world demand for educated workers. Before you know it you will need a PhD to operate a cash register. At least our education system still encourages creativity and critical thinking skills, though we are losing that edge too...

  • Finland! :) Just good experiences from that place!

  • Finland seem like they are good at everything, driving included. Shame there is not more of them, they could save the world

  • there at the top of the list because they are a heavily selected group.

  • The secret for Finnish education is that they make it so easy anyone can graduate. You can hand in all of your projects days, weeks and even months late without a problem. You get 3 chances to pass the final exam. You can get a guide with example questions AND answers for the final which sometimes is done in teams. You can skip classes if you want. No assignments needed either. Minimum to pass is 40%. Our system is the best wether people like it or not. Do NOT fall for Finland's Marketing.

  • @larmand80 Untill you get to having a job, where a big percentage fails. In this case Finn's are highly unreliable in the social area.

  • @larmand80 Our school weeks are also much shorter. We have more free time and less homework. Also we don't have a lot of tests on courses. We have much smaller education budget than USA. Education is free in every level from preschool to doctoral degrees. Yet we are at the very top of every international comparison of education. It's just a school, not a military. People tend to be more motivated when they are not under pressure.

  • @arkkimaagi Yea, people chill so much they take trips instead of doing school work, even at doctoral level. This only makes people irresponsible not motivated.

  • @larmand80 hm, proplem with you is that you try too hard. sometime you got to watch back change strategy. no amaount of hard work can change the impossible. that is why finland succeds. our moddle works, our people are one of the most best educated.

  • Comment removed

  • @larmand80 actualy no, 4 in you paper is fail. there is no 40% like in you ed. sorry, but you are just wrong.

  • @larmand80 What makes you say it's easy? There IS a problem if your works are late. Getting more chances is good so you won't have so much pressure. I never got a guide? No you can't skip classes, or you can but you'll be in trouble and you'll be kicked out after a couple times. And yes you do need assignments. And just to prove you more wrong minimum to pass is 50% depending on the subject.. I'm gonna continue doing my 3500 words essay, sure you wouldn't mind cos Finnish school is so easy! :)

  • @ainoswe I spent 1 year in Finland in 2006. Schools are easy and students are lazy and irresponsible. People handed in all their projects late, if any, and got graded without penalization. My final for Finance was only 3 essay questions. Anyone can pass Finance like that. You don't even need to take accounting and finance to get a business degree LMAO. This is the best promotional video for Finland watch?v=3eGgknfN03I and also listen to watch?v=silhiFzzL5I

  • @larmand80 Really? I spent 13 and disagree but I do agree with the best promotional video, they are successfully educated boozers.. Apart from me, never even tasted and never will.

  • young faggots

  • shanghai is not country its city

  • '...but I hope, in the future, we can beat these elite corporations and businesses... And now a word on our sponsors. Ana, what do you think about audible.com...?'

  • but korea has the highest suicide rate in the world

  • @damnitw Finland also has a high suicide rate

  • @JohanBomholt

so smart people kill themselfs?...good to know^^

  • @damnitw As they say. Ignorance is bliss..

  • shit.shanghai is the first it should be FINLAND

attention people in FINLAND like me we must try harder lol

  • Why you americans start by pay properly to your teachers.

  • not surpriced

  • Doesn't matter. We still make more money. jkjk

  • Finland used to be at the top for years. It is strange they allow one city to be compared (Shanghai), which happens to be the richest in China. Hardly comparable.

  • @CheddarBob39 idealism. reality is that willingness is meaningless if you just dont learn. its that simple. what mathers more is the education and the way its provided. best kind of education is one the allso helps you to learn.

  • ...kids willingness to work hard. So what we get in america is kids who really WANT to be successful and smart who become that. And those who don't care. And isn't that how it should be? It's called freedom folks. Plus when you WANT to be smart and become smart that way and it isn't forced on your ass you aren't stressed out and are more likely going to be happy as well. ( : Thank God I live in America.

  • You might want to throw "these facts" in there. ( : America has a lot of dreamers who sit around smoking pot and doing nothing. And there are hard working people. But you get what you deserve. With the right attitude, a willingness to do what it takes and actually do some work, you get your reward in America. That's the beauty of it. So basically what I am saying is people screw themselves over. It isn't "Amerca" or its education system. It's how parents raise their kids and then the..

  • @CheddarBob39 Yes, let's not look at how we do business in the U.S. let's just cop-out and say it's parents fault! You are the reason America will continue it's downward spiral into ignorance and shame. Pat yourself on the back.

  • @CheddarBob39 no, no you wont. there is only so much room in the ocean and big fish can only exist in limited number. for one 1 fish there has to 1000 small ones. no mather how hard you work, you will be able to chalenge the big fish out there. cos they just kill you with thei weight.

  • Actually I am pretty sure America has some of the best and brightest people/minds in the world. Because even though "as a whole" Americas education system isn't the best. There are good schools and bad schools. Just as there are good places to live and bad places to live in America. The smartest get to go to those schools. ( : That's how it works, it works pretty well too. Weeds out the stupid and the smartest go on to be huge successes. The chinese are WAY behind in many areas as well.

  • @CheddarBob39 Finland still beats you stupid-ass "super-powers". Suck it, bitch.

  • @CheddarBob39

"The smartest get to go to those schools". I'm pretty sure you were supposed to use the word 'the richest'. And just to make sure; just because you have money doesn't mean that you're smart.

  • @charkkulotta

No, no. Try again with your guessing on what I meant. Because I did mean the smartest. Yes a few rich kids with great connections can get in too. But there are something called scholarships that you can used with "good grades." And of course they look at your application to see if you have the grades to get in.

  • before people get an education boner for these asian countries consider the fact that there is so much pressure there they have had to enact laws to prosecute study halls that stay open too late. its a rampant problem due to the pressure on the students to succeed, causing high levels of stress, anxiety, and even increased risk of suicide. they get results but is it the best schooling system in the world? i dont think so, loading that much stress on teens seems counterproductive

  • suomalaiset nuoret ovat varmasti eri mieltä... :D

  • Finnish education is maybe best, but our society puts too much pressure on our kids in school. You arent allowed to fail.

  • Korea in 3rd place?

Hmm. Not bad. Not bad at all.

  • @Jh5kRadio definetly not. practiacly equle.

  • England has the best public schools.

  • JUMALAUTA HYVÄ SUOMI!! :DD

  • Technically Shanghai isn't a country.

    Finland 1

    Everyone else 0

  • @Cyberspine Sweden.

  • @Cyberspine Not technically - literally. He messed up and meant to say China (of which, Shanghai is the best City within it). He said China every time afterwards.

  • @Cyberspine come up with a single US state that can even come close to the finnish first

  • @hitmonlee00 I can't, but that is not to say there is no such state. I'm just not that familiar with the states of USA to know where education could be better.

  • SUOMI PERKELE!

  • yet scootland has always had the best primary education ( before the ages of 12) and some of the best further education in the world we are raked first in both of these

  • I'm a Finn, and the only thing I learned at school is that "Sweden sucks, Swedes are gays, Russia smells, USA blablabla, everyone else stinks and remember to get drunk as often as you can and die young" BUT it seems like kids have learned those things pretty well so i guess our schools are pretty good!

Foreigners hot, Finns not. I'm moving away...

  • @ainoswe asutko masalassa? :D

  • @ainoswe You are troll from sweden? : 3

  • @takeiou wish I was! but unfortunately I'm just a disappointed (and very different!!) Finn.

  • @ainoswe taidatkii olla swede ?

  • @TheFinnishAIRSOFT no enhän.. tosin asia ois eri jos saisin päättää :)

  • @MsSmartpants1 who the fuck is talking about finland? Im talking about china?

  • Comment removed

  • @MsSmartpants1

You're an embarrassment, don't reply to my reply towards KAFABeats if you have no idea what we were talking about. Not once did me or KAFA said anything about Finland, the video's main content was about America's hugely flawed education system that needs to be improved, and how we compared to China. We did not talk about Finland nor was his/her comment about working for low wages towards Finland. It was about those in poverty over in China and I explained why.

  • @NiHaoStanley I have the right to say what I want and you can not forbid it! It is a human right. Thanks for your explanation Mr Aggressive.

  • If they are snarter then us, why are they working for 1 dollar a day in sweat shops for apple and nike?

  • @KAFABeats

Because those are the adults in the country that didn't get a good education. They are the generation born into pre WW2. Second, they have an overpopulation, you really think all the smart kids over there are going to find some awesome paying job? The United States isn't overpopulated and even here some people aren't able to find a job that is paying twice of minimum salary.

  • Comment removed

  • @KAFABeats you must be kidding!!! Finland is a wealthy country where people do not have to die on the streets like in your country!

  • might be wise to not put people in massive debt with their college tuition fees.

  • Its funny how the top of the listt are Asian countries, but BOOOOOOOOM, theres icy hell Finland, why. I tell you why, its called Sisu.

  • @MultiJerkku

  • @MultiJerkku

mitäs pahaa ruotsissa on? ihan mukava valtio

  • @Grrr8sk8 Olenko sanonut että Ruotsi on huono maa? Sanoin vaan että jos ei Suomi ole hyvä maa niin muuta Ruotsiin sitte.

  • americans have never, never won. always lost like in vietnam and irak.

  • @untofrederik man america dont know where is vietnam and irak :D

  • Finland schools have very poor education system.

That's why they are so stupid.

    (But americans are stupider)

  • russian education system is the worst, your language skills prove it.

  • "Epic fail"

  • but thats true nobody have to pay their own education in finland, everybody can go to any universities they like and most important of all the finnish social system pays every students rent(if they arent working) and every student gets few hundred euros every month so they can focus in studying and dont have to work while studying. and ofcourse every school is free. i know few youngster who have really big problems with learning.they get private teacher to their home and socialsystem pays it.

  • you say free education. hah. if you dont go to school in finland the police come and take you to school. and you say free

  • @Jeex86 Free education as in you don't have to pay for it, why would you choose to not get education anyway, you would pretty much just ruin your life.

  • @ShotgunLars But you have to pass a test and be good enough at school to receive education after secondary school. A lot of people just aren't smart enough (or don't try hard enough) to even make it to high school, but those that do, get the education for free.

  • These people are retarded. Name one person who said "Education is for the elite." They just make up shit. And the subtitles are all fucked up. Why do they even bother?

  • tää on jännää ku suomi tuntu normilta eikä hienolta

  • We need to get rid of the department of education. The results are proof that the Department of education sucks!

  • We need a complete education overhaul, done by somebody who is not in government or politics.

  • OMG, I think if I ever become rich with children, I may end up sending them to a boarding school in Europe for their own good.

  • @PrincessKLS Nordic countries (specially Finland and Sweden) have very good school system (completely free, teachers have academic education and they really know what they are doing = teaching is high-standard) but most other european countries don't or it's expensive... for example Germany and Britain.

They key is high taxes, so education is free only in theory (of course someone needs to pay the free school lunch and teacher's salary).

  • Why would you think that the US was coming in at a close second? Only a moron who went through the American school system would think that.

  • i agree with them!!!!!!!!

  • 6-1 !!

  • Scandinavia ohoy!!

  • Fucking communist propaganda

  • @MrMGorski what about this is communist propaganda?

  • @MrMGorski you must be a real expert on this issue!

  • WTF - Private education isn't for the elite - its the cheapest education adn everyone can afford it while in public education ppl dont chave enough money for books etc etc

  • In China most of children are in privte schools

  • @MrMGorski no, absolutely not true. Majority of Chinese people are too poor to go into a private school. The reason they're good at everything is because of 1 child policy and their culture. Those kids have really high pressure of keeping the honour of their family and therefore they "can't fail".

  • @roinable HA. U ARE A STUPID IDIOT. Private schools are ALWAYS cheaper. - Find out some articles about education in China and u will know that poor families cant go to school - and thery are in cheap private schools. Education. DESTPITE they are paying for public education OVER 60% of the ppl learn in cheap private schools. They might donthave money for books in public schools. - But they still have the biggest iq in the world. In capitalism u dont pay 60 or 100 $ but 10-15$ :P

  • and soon pretty young pipol can voite the president! xD sometihng like 14 year olds..

  • lol eniten katottu suomesta!

  • Finaldn Spörödödödödödödö :--DDD

  • In china, education is kinda forced, but in finland it its much more informal than in china and korea... in finland they empasize in responsibility and it works!

  • Nice propaganda.

  • @tbatbatba What propaganda? US has poor education system, it's well-known fact (at least in Europe where US. brainwashing propaganda don't infect people). Your schools focus on wrong things. Finnish schools are very easy for the student, but teaching is still very affective. Not like in US where teacher rapes your ass if you fail one test.

  • @Zuomigundi I hope you're not trying to speak for all countries of Europe when you say there's no brainwashing propaganda, the Swedish government has been pumping out brainwashing propaganda for the last 100 years, and they're only getting better. Almost the entire Swedish population has been indoctrinated.

  • @Fyrvelm There are brainwashing in Finland too. Government literally lies to us about their decisions. But I was talking about american overpatriotic shitpropaganda. See? They even think they have good education system and health care.. Everyone knows USA isn't killing ragheads because they are terrorists, they do it because there are oil.

That prop doesn't effect in Europe, here almost everyone knows the facts. Americans are just so stupid that they believe everything they see on CNN etc.

  • Country With The Best Schools

  • 1:00 Phehe.. Epic fail.

  • Finland

    Fuck yeah

Coming to educate your mother fucking ass yeah

    Finland

    Fuck yeah

Cause knowledge is the only way yeah

  • @BlizBob Hahaha :D Kunpa se onnistuiskin.

  • @BlizBob Sweden #1 We don't have to learn finnish in school, but you guys have to learn swedish mwhahahaha.

  • @fermyr So childish. Oh wait all swedes are childs?

  • @rsntgr I can tell you're finnish.

  • @fermyr Ican tell you`re gay. So first guess swedish

  • @fermyr bur even tho we learn it, we don't remember any shit on next day

  • @NaJoun1 You still have to learn it hahahahah :D Finland's father = Sweden.

  • @fermyr and u are like 10 year old?

  • @NaJoun1 You mean you are?

  • @fermyr gay swedish say what?

  • @NaJoun1 12

  • a lot of kids in my school (in America, one of the best high schools), are too wrapped up with their cell phones and are very spoiled and attracted to sex and drugs to not even care about school. It's really sad to see that because since my family is immigrants, i try my best in school and get straight A's, just so i can get a better life, but these spoiled kids don't know that no college=hard life.

  • I never knew that TYT would say something about my home country XD

  • Pretty unfair list since Shanghai isn't a country.

  • England private, secondary schools are the best.

  • In Georgia private schools score higher on the sat and act so this is bullshit. Also china and Korea and Finland go to school more days then The US. They put more money in schools and we have none left so instead of arguing about this let's solve the fucking economy. Because mr. Obama is making it worse!

  • @Americanpride555 Thats just wrong. I dont know how they do it in asian countries. but here our kids have less days in a year than in America and also they start school little older. And the cost per student is less than in America. This was all in CNN documentary. The elementary school is 9 grades so maybe the overall days are higher. Summer vacation is 2,5 months.

  • Finland has less than 6 million people, spread thinly over the country! Yet everybody reads and writes, ( is well educated), it is given, you do not graduate from high school and not be able to read! , like in "some other" countries!

  • The US has excellent schools, its just that some of the teachers and the students fail at their jobs. Because some of the teachers they don't give a damn about the students passing or failing or whatever, all they want is their paycheck and to go home. As for the students.. it varies from city to city and from state to state. Some of them are actually willing to learn but can't because the teacher doesn't teach smack, and the others don't care at all. - an American student

  • @kuolkannelvittu Your definition of "freedom" = Anarchy

  • I'd expected Israel to be No. 1 in brain power and creativity.

The Asians are merely book-smart and exam-smart and lacks creativity. That's why they still need to import so many things from the West.

  • If you know what I mean when I say 6-1 thumbs UP :D

  • @Nuudeli105 And how does that link to schools..?

  • @Nuudeli105 If you mean something that has something to do with sport in 2011..

    You must mean 1-6. -_-

  • @HamburgerSaga But we say "Kuus-yks" because "yks-kuus" not sounds that good...

  • @Nuudeli105 Yes I'm from Finland and I understand. Puhutaanpas Suomea. Joo tiedän että 6-1 kuullostaa järkevämmältä mut se vaan tuntuu tosi tyhmältä jostain syystä :'3. Oma mielipiteeni asiasta.

  • @HamburgerSaga

Oukkei :D En jaksanu katoo sulta proffasta mistä päin oot -__-* joo oon laiska :D

  • @Nuudeli105 Joo ei mitään tiedän tunteen :''D

  • Countries like South Korea and Finland have the almost advantage of knowing their native language and speaking other languages as a necessity to be competitive in an international market, thus meaning they have been taught two or more cultures, thus broadening the mind to make different ways of thinking more accessible to their brain, but the way western media is mostly to blame. This idea that thousands of dollars or pounds or whatever can be earned through some good luck and not through hard

  • Among Shanghai, Finland and South Korea, I respect the Finns the most because they don't necessarily study more whilst you can be certain that the Shanghainese and the South Koreans studied like slaves. I'm also willing to bet that the Finns are also more creative. I don't think the Chinese or Koreans have the creative minds to give us games like Crazy Birds.

  • @canuck21 its angry birds

  • @canuck21 you can't say stuff like that dude..

  • The reason why Finland scores such well, despite only beginning in school in the age of seven and having reasonably short days (mine are usually 5-8 hours and I'm 17 years) is that we have the smartest stupid, not that our best students would be exceptionally bright. That is, you aren't just coldly left behind if you learn worse than those of the most others, and you don't have to go to a top school if you want to study well, which is in contrast with the American or the British systems.

  • @moptim And to continue, as the best education isn't directed to only the very best but instead spread to all the normal students, they get high quality education with a tiny sacrifice from the brightest marginal of students' potential. To clarify what I'm meaning, compared to a hundred hard working engineers, a single Einstein is of little importance. Thus we don't have big share of our youth falling outside the society, which we could never afford to let happen with our tiny population (5 Mil)

  • Fuck you all!!! I<3Finland/Suomi, imekää munaa homoot!!!

  • For 2011, South Korea is actually the best education system in the world, and Finland i
