  • Always in my head...among the top 5 pieces of Panorama music I have ever heard...

  • Back again, WOW ! always brings a smile , and then there is one num skull out there

  • You guys are true steel band music lovers and you are not alone. This is steel band music in the commercial form you got to feel the vibes if you really like carnival calypso music on steel drums it never leave the mind not much steel bands leave that on you this piece of music said it all,it is sweet and memorable.

  • If you don`t feel this piece of music sorry to say but you don`t no pan music the vibes in this peace of music is steel band music at the highest commercial form when Trinidad and Tobago except this style you will hear pan music on the radio like pop music, right now TandTis not ready for this clean smooth jazzy calypso carnival sound,The Professor ,Boogsie and Andy is setting the standard now it is up to you all to except and enjoy where steel band music is going .

  • This piece of music represent the past and today steel bands of the south like Trinidad Mystros Gondolars Vibratones All Stars Free French Silvertones Sundowners Melody Makers Cavaliers Hillside Sym. Silouttes Rouge Regiment West Starsand all others that past on Coffee street during their time.

  • I am trying to remember in history, where there is a more distinct, unique, chord strumming together with a distinct, specific, clear, bass run together like what is played here between the time 5;44 to 6;44. Is there ?

Is the a more clear version of this somewhere. The static near the end (8;52 etc ) stalls the momentum.

  • That was ANDY"S year they should have won , I was in the band on the drag ,beautiful arrangement, Junior should give him another shot in 2012.

  • Added to my Favorites !

Driving down Robson Street in Vancouver ! Oh Yeah

  • The style is different to the traditional panorama sound, and on the same token it is an arrangement than can be appreciated worldwide. A piece of pan music, not just in the Caribbean for the Caribbean, but for the world to listen to.

TUNE ! or as it is said otherwise CHUNE !

  • oh gosh.... sweet music!

  • De music sweet, but dem banner gal wining sweeter, Oh gorm!!!

  • Sweet music indeed whether for panorama or otherwise. To me the perfect song is a song you can dance to and enjoy on the road and panorama.

  • i never understood how skiffle bunch came last with this song!

  • music will be music matters not who is the composer or arranger, are we trini.

  • great song....great arrangement however not for panorama as seen in trini eyes

  • but whe d jail

  • Beautiful music, but same problem I have with Holman.....a really nice listen, but panorama music is carnival music. Anytime i feel to listen and not get up and dance, the essence of panorama as a carnival art is lost. This just does not move me to dance

  • @psychologistpannist for your info this was arranged by Andy Narrell..it was great to watch him work.....I would go there after my rehearsals with Fonclaire

  • @casym4ever I think you misread my comment...I know this was arranged by Narell, who is an entertaining player just like Holman. Its their common approach to arranging panorama music that I have a problem with. Their panorama arrangements are more Sunday afternoon in the hollows than carnival saturday night on the racetrack. Hope you understand what I mean

  • At the time this was a refreshing sound and still is for a panorama tune up to this day, just wish that Andy Narell had stayed in the compitition and forget the judges. Sweet music will always win.

  • wow the group im in are playing this tube and we hanvt finished i yet were about 7:42 in but tuff line on the bass though

  • This is pure class! I don't think the judges were ready for this one. Who wants a panorama where the bands sound the same...the word 'Originality' springs to mind. Love this!!!

  • This tune is a work of art! the best part is from 5mins 45sec... pure genius! Andy Narrell's work is fantastic!

  • History was made this day, well done Skiffle Bunch and Andy Narell...on a great performance and a great arrangement!

  • yea

  • I'm a big fan of andy narrel but one of reason why the band came 12th is because there was no structure in the tune. After the first verse there was no verse solo he went straight into the jam and then another jam after that and judges look for that after all its a competition. but I really dont know why he stop arranging for the band because I LOVE THIS SONG AND WHO CARES WHAT THE JUDGES DECIDE AT THE END OF THE DAY. 1999 Panorama was one of the best panoramas.

  • I agree, I like this tune a lot but as a panorama tune as defined by the genre's standard devices such as development, variation, use of themes, etc. it pretty much falls flat, doesn't go anywhere. It's like Andy was trying too hard to re-invent the wheel. And to me, it's pretty but not that exciting. Panorama is a carnival event and it needs that energy. And contrary to what some may say, excitement and musicality are not mutually exclusive. Just ask Jit, Boogsie, Professor, etc.

  • TCL Group Skiffle Bunch placed 8th at this competition and not 12th as earlier mentioned. Great clip.

  • for your info this was arranged by Andy Narrell..it was great to watch him work.....I would go there after my rehearsals with Fonclaire

  • just an UFO in Panorama history.

  • dis song is phenomenal ... wish i could have played it with them.... Go Skiffle Go... Complements to Arranger Andy Narell on this composition...

  • absolutely splendid

  • damn i wish our teacher would let us play this

  • My top 3 placings for that panorama are 1st - despers, 2nd - Renagades, 3rd Skiffle Bunch

  • too me they should have won this year this is a real bad tune

  • I don't know why, but I've been addicted to this song for a while now. While it's not my favorite panorama, it certainly is interesting.

  • u r not d only one...everyone I know that listens to pan is addicted (and I am an addict myself...lol)

  • that chord progression at 7:40 is insane.. narell is a genius

  • yes

  • love it, love it!!!

  • Andy clearly knew what he was doing with this. I suspect he did not place higher because the chorus perhaps sounded too latin, as opposed to calypso. But second guessing the judges is never wise. Still, Andy has the last laugh because it certainly has become a standard in Panorama music.

  • The Eastern Kentucky University, Miami University, and West Virginia University steelbands will be combining to play this tune along with Izo's Mood, Dee Mwa Wee, Song For Mia as well as Jeff Narell's Ellie Man, La Plaza, and Jungle Rain. And the best part - Both Andy and Jeff will be playing at the concert as well!

March 10th 2008 - West Virginia University - Tickets available now!

  • played this tune at USM with Narell himself.

the chart is tough as nails and my favorite.

Also goes well with my passion for a good cup of Joe.

  • Non-Trini or not this one of the best 'pan tunes ' ever made.

  • love this song, it has 2 be one of my fav. panorama tunes..they should have came better than 12th...they sounded to well
