@1LOVE36peace dude, I'm an Idiot, not an idoit :) .. this movie is not depicting history correctly. In reality, Bodhidharma was already an old man and a monk when he left his hometown. His nephew is already the king and he informs the monks in China through pigeons and the people welcome him. Bodhidharma is described as the 3rd son of a Brahmin King from South India. It is just a guess that he is a Pallava Prince. Tamil politicians and Nationalists don't consider Brahmins as Tamils.

Regarding the Buddha, he was born into the clan of the Sakyas or Scythians, this why he is called as Sakyamuni. The Scythians were nomadic horsemen who came from Central Asia into India and they were closely related to the Iranians who are also Aryans. Even if he were racially non aryan the culture his kingdom and his family followed was Indo Aryan culture which is the origin of his religion and his path. Of course, he was a genius who was able to remove a lot of existing social evils

@1LOVE36peace Even if Bodhidharma was a Pallava prince, Pallavas themselves originated from outside Tamil Nadu. Pallavas considered themselves to be descendants of Dronacharya and Ashwathamma who were Brahmins. Again, the Dravidian Nationalists don't accept Brahmins as Tamils. Pallava sculpture and art in Mahabalipuram revolves around the Aryan epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata and not the Tamil Sangam epics.

And even though I'm not as smart as you, I'm still a South Indian like you :)
