@ikemstar Really??? So, if you know about fighting better than me, tell me where is the "martial" here (indeed I don't see neither the "art", but as you says "I don't know nothing" and I don't see a Great Art in everything comes from Japan).
Taido is the easy way to practice dexterity, fluidity of movement, sense of timing and evasion of opponent attack, sense of self timing and setting up attack. Movement must never cease, or else the moving opponent can easily target you. No straight attack allowed without some kind of set-up with movement. Jissen is great fun, a chessmatch at best.
ehm, first of all they were "Flashy" and taido is Bs, iv practiced it, its just like capoeira. cant use it in a real life situation, what they call hits are what a normal person would call a touch
"Just like" as in Taido isn't a dance? The similarity begins and ends with improvisation and fluid movement. The same can be said for any high-level physical skill.
How would you suggest to "use" a martial art in "real life"? You fight that often?
How long did you practice, and where? I'm sure you must have been very, very good...
@dekar003 I guess you're one of those who STILL believe X art is "better" than something else. And it doesn't take a genius to work out that you obviously only care about whats an effective system to hurt and subdue an opponent. Some do martial arts for fun and exercise you know.
fight??? This is only japanese capoeira. If you want you can call it "art", but not "martial"...

@Matamune87 People like you know nothing about fighting. There's a reason it's called a "martial art". Both - together.

The person who had too many movements lost the fight..

It's not a fight; it's a tournament match, which nobody in attendance took seriously.
Honestly, the result should have been the opposite had the judges scored according to actual competition rules.

awesome example of what Taido can do. And also a very good example that you don't need to be flashy to win XD
