Look at WVON's very own Clifford Kelley! A convicted felon....In 1986, Kelley was one of seven men indicted by a federal grand jury on charges alleging involvement in the corrupt handling of City Hall bill collection contracts. Accused of receiving $7,500 in cash from con man Michael Raymond, illegally soliciting a $10,000 loan and failing to file three years of federal income-tax returns, Kelley pleaded guilty to four counts of mail fraud and not filing his 1985 returns.
Hmmmm, I've 2 questions. 1st if he was sooo bad, how did he get re-elected so many times??? Second, is it true that Chicago Black millionaires is 2nd to Atlanta GA?
Anyway asking such a question I know is off limit, just thought I'd put it out there.
I'm so disappointed with the results of the Mayor's race. Black people need to wake up. It's obvious we, as a people, are not learning from our history. If black history teaches black people anything, it teaches us that for effective political action, we must come together. The public schools are not teaching black people anything. It also looks like older black people are not teaching or passing down lessons either. Wake up! Wake Up! Wake Up! Peace.
