    and their Mothers before them...

Still standing in grace within my heart.

  • They are true Americans not to be forgotten.

  • can i use this for my channel on native as my self/?

  • @OurNativeHome Yes, it would be my honor. Let me know if there is anyway I can see it? I would be honored to answer any of your questions. If this looks like a repeat, it's because I don't know if the first message went out.

  • I am a Chippewa elder man. Our tribe believed in a Goddess named Nicomis. Our belief system before Christianity said that all women are sacred. Their bodies contain the spirits of all their unborn children. Man's only purpose is to provide and defend women. As a gift of thanks, sex provided healing power by these spirits to the men. • On vois la beauté d'une femme dans le naturel

  • Pas tout compris car je ne sui pas au top en anglais, mais les photos sont belles, et ces femmes ont eu tellement de courage. BRAVO

  • This is so inspiring and beautiful! It is time we gave voice to them, the neglected characters of times gone by. Let them ring loud and clear!

  • Let us never forget our Grandmothers. And let us hold them high in honor.

  • I always love watching this vid and find myself wondering does anyone know what tribe the "princess laiya" hairdos come from? They are extrodinary!

  • They're from the southwest like the Hopi or Pueblo peoples. I think I recall a mentioning that it was to resemble a young squash flower which indicated the young women who wore their hair that way was eligible for marriage.

  • Its amazing how pretty these women even in pictures taken in 1890 something. No makeup or fake eye lashes. Their Natural beauty is amazing.

    5 STARS

  • My Mother's people are Numunuu (Comanche). Thank you for this beautiful reminder of the strength and graciousness of our First Nations' women.

  • Thank you for reminding people that many Nations respected women much more than Western civ did/does and that Native women hold a very important place in history and the future. So often Western civ when they show Native culture focuses upon the male warriors and forgets that is not the full story of who Native people were.

  • Great video Makez. There has been Enough brutalisation. Wonderful to see those pictures.:)

  • a lovely dedication to all the native american women. beautiful tribute.*************

  • I respect your tree of family, very much...but did you ever consider that WE are all THE PEOPLE. Not 1/3 this or 1/4 that? If we are not THE PEOPLE, then tell me WHO? I do not believe it is going to come down to an address and a phone number, so to speak, when I am called to go HOME, who will it be calling me? And what if the one calling got the wrong number? DO I still get to go? I like your thoughts, tell me more if you have the time. love from Luna

  • I am an Israelite from the tribe of Juda. The so-called Indians are from the tribe of Gad. I learned from the Bible the true history of the so0called Indians and they came to America. I also have a degree in Anthropology and learned that the Gadite women played important roles in their families, communities, and nation. YAHAWASHI is going to unite the 12 tribes of Israel and destroy those who murdered and oppressed them. I am waiting for his return.

  • May i inquire why you refer many times to "so called" I am just wondering if you are also "so called" I am "so called" each of us are "so called" to ......

  • The names Indians,Negros,Hispanics and other names were given to us who are Israeltes according to the Bible by so-called white people who are Edomites according to the Bible. They portrayed the so-called Indians as being savages and murdered them, stole their land, and destriyed their culture.

  • Shalom

  • 2 thumbs up for this video!!

  • Un maravilloso tributo a mujeres especiales. Debe ser visto por todo el mundo, para no olvidarnos de las valientes mujeres aborigenes que aun luchan por salvar su gente. A beautiful tribute that must be shared and seen by the whole world, so that we do not forget these courageous aboriginal women that to date, struggle to save their people. Ximena Pino-Medrano, Saskatoon, SK. Canada.

  • Can you post more about the insight you have shared? thanks Luna

  • I love it! every native american is important. and I don't think people should judge others by the color of their skin. I may be white but Native Americans are awesome!:)

  • Proud brother of the Iroquois Nation, and every man with color on his skin.

  • Excellent!

  • We are much more than you imagine. Do you believe?

  • Yes,I believe so.

  • I do believe, without any doubts whatsoever.

  • Peace, love and grace.

  • Beautiful video. The Baha'i Faith attaches most importance to valuing native peoples: "Attach great importance to the indigenous population of America — should they be educated and guided, there can be no doubt that they will become so illumined as to enlighten the whole world." — 'Abdu'l-Bahá, Tablets of the Divine Plan. The Baha'i religion, founded by Baha'u'llah ("Glory of God"), has the mission of peacefully uniting mankind in its diversity and assure the well-being of all mankind.

  • eventhough i'm not native american, i give my respect to them.

  • If you like this video, you might enjoy Carolyn Niethammer's book "Daughters of the Earth".

  • Thank you for such an inspiring video.I identify myself as a proud First Nations woman because that is how I was raised.I don't discredit the other half or ignore it but it is all too obvious when looking at me that I am part caucasian. What I want other people to know is, who I am in my heart and spirit.I am a First, an Okanagan woman and proud of it.I remember that my mother, grandmother, aunts, cousins, etc have paved the road ahead of me to make my journey easier and for that I thank them.

    Wa-do (Thank you)

  • You're very welcome. This video was a pleasure to make.

  • I have inherited the Native eyes of my ancestors, and to see this video makes me happy that someone remembers all of the women who died in the fight to retain their ancestral home.

  • I'm black but my grandmother (R.I.P) was partially Native American. These women are the image of my grandmother, she died back in 1995. Peace

  • Never forget the other half.

man is realy nothing without woman. thanks

  • U.N.I.T.Y. is going to Oklahoma this summer of 2007. Natives from all over the nation will be there with their tribe. Come meet new people, share your culture. Their will be entertainment; food and dances. Their will also be workshops for college and health...Last year UNITY went to Buffalo, NY, and it was fun. Research some more about it. See you there!

  • Thank You!

  • thank you zacuan for posting this video; it's amazing!!! i love it

  • Very nice!!

  • I love all you native women, Cree Love

    Very sad.

  • love your show and the music take you places; if you let it ! keep up the wonderful work; lov-ya .

  • great job,very simple...tells the story i like that..

  • Thank you, zacuan, for this lovely video. Thank you for showing that these women were intelligent; resourceful; strong in spirit and courage and were respected members of their communities. ~Barb (winspirit)

  • Beautiful faces!
