The real model is about 16lb and about a foot tall. It uses the same movement and turning thingy as yours, but has 2 cameras at the end of the rod thingy. Where did u get the ball.
the only problem to this design is that it doesn't have much torque. Torque is important to get over bumps and rocks in its path. This robots only torque is the weight under the robot.
Don't get me wrong, this was amazing. I have one more question. Does it sense for blockage and change directions if it does?

Balldroids works well on flat surfaces.. try to put it in a hole and see what happens.. so no planetexploring.. ;)

its also being developed as an all terrain security camera
watch it on discovery channel, as its full of Air inside it can float on water and go anywhere
they started using a concept close to this in airports
