We recommend using a degaussing unit as well as this device to completely secure your data. To comply with certain standards, the hard drive must be physically destroyed as well as erased using a degausser.

the data on the disk itself is not destroyed. Kind of useless if you ask me. The disk is the important part, and with this method, the data can still be recovered. This method isn't 100% safe.
