I personally prefer the Mega Drive version more. I don't know if it's because I like the soundchip more than most other consoles. I do prefer some games on other consoles, but meh... it's only my opinion.
This is the PAL version of the game (released in Europe), which runs 50 mhz or so slower. The one that was on the Sega Channel (America) was the NTSC version, which is the same speed as the NES Version (America). Japan got both versions. (Why, I don't know.)
This is the PAL Version which runs at a lower 50Hz speed compared to The Japanese NTSC version "Rockman Mega World" or the US version which run at the standard 60Hz speed.
(I'm so gonna bashed for this) I do prefer the normal speed and NES version, but i don't see why people have to bash the slower version, let alone the Megadrive version (or slow megadrive version)
@MegamanZXer77 It is only slower because he put the 60hz version on a 50hz machine which slows it down 10 percent. If you get the correct version it will sound perfect! But Fanboys always grasp at straws.
@DehnusNorder Yeah, I know it's slower because of PAL sound *lives in UK and had PAL speed Sonic 1*, but it's honestly not that bad at all. It's still Megaman
there is no "normal" version. I believe you're used to the NTSC version of the song. I prefer the NTSC version. Mega Man 3's intro in PAL sounds better, though :)
You can only get the megadrive versions of megaman 1,2 and 3 all in one collection only called "Megaman Dr Willy Wars" I have to say try ebay cause I don't know how hard it will be to find this game in non popular game stores, it was hard for me to find the RKA trilogy.
its only for real big mm fans imo I just got into megaman since I beat MM9 like 10 times lol I love the classic NES style.
Well it used to be in "Sega Channel" in the Usa while in Europe they have the actual cartrige so....get an Euro Megadrive (Genisis in america)and get that cartrige
@MattTheSpratt There may be loads of fantastic music on the system, but the ones that aren't so fantastic (which is many as well) tend to stick out like sore thumbs and are painful to listen to (this rendition made me cringe a bit).
There were plenty of publishers who knew how to compose good music for the YM2612 such as Sega themselves and Konami, but there were just as many (if not more) who simply couldn't. Capcom unfortunately was one of them.

I'll always love my Mega Drive <3

The original is definitely better, but I actually REALLY liked this after 0:47. After that point this actually gets pretty awesome.

Megadrive can't handle the awesomeness of the original music.

What can I say - this doesn´t sound as badass as the Original but I like it.
NightbladeEagle 2 years ago 2
the reason the song is so slow is because of the emulator. go to options-video and put frame skip on 0

Most megadrive soundtracks suck but some I like Splaterhouse, Altered Beast and Alien 3 they all had bad music but the games were awesome.
Krystallwolvelt 3 years ago
yah the megadrive soundtracks tend to sound abit too primative, sonic music is quite good though.
SilentBun 3 years ago
We all know sonic's music is the best on megadrive there is only a few other games tht have a great quality of soundtrack to.
Krystallwolvelt 3 years ago
Yeah, it's amazing what sonic team got out of the system in contrast to every other game.
SilentBun 3 years ago
@Krystallwolvelt The Streets of Rage series would be the best example!
