I know the scale is exaggerated because it's a re-enactment (Americans not shooting at Germans that are only about ten feet away etc.) What is the difference in scale between this and an actual battle? Was this meant to be 10x/20x smaller in terms of distance between the two sides? Is there even such a rule?
Great reenactment. I've never seen one in person but now I want to.
Can some one please help went last year on the Thursday but was very disappointed to find out that the reenactment was not can some one tell is it just Fridays and Saturdays

@My49ers4life The M36 entered the War in September 1944, this is set a few months before that, and the Panthers were already an established leathal Menace by that point.
I have been going to the War and Peace show since I was about 3. This footage captures the action really well. If I remember correctly, this was the time the truck broke down and they towed it away with the halftrack
wtf the ppl on the heavy machine guns dont shoot at the germans runing away amercans standing out in the open walking into german lines no one does anything wtf fail
Re-enacting is a safeheaven for all men to act like boys again but except this time, they get to dress up and fire a real gun unlike putting on a coat and using a stick as rifle when they were 10
I remember watching this at war and peace and thinking thats what it could have been like if operation sealion had gone according to plan once they landed on our beaches there really could have been skrimishes like this in the fields and woods of kent eerie thought !
Wow.! I'm not one to give out compliments lightly. In this case I will praise you for this...An excellent piece of footage from a WW2 re-enactment. Very very entertaining and enjoyable. All praise to the re-enactors I would liked to have been there. (this from an ex British Para of the 1950's and 60's).........Very good video..................T.
@twa1638 Oh yes the re-enactors did a great job, also the chap who created this display, works in the film industry, you can really see the quality, it felt like watching a film from the crowd line.
the terrain is really good here alot of battle reenactments i see are just on flat land and you wouldnt want to be that exposed against your enemy in battle!
I was there the sounds of the .50 cal and the tank shots go straight though you and I can tell why people call them the drums of war the sound is just amazing you can not get a sense of how loud they were unless you were there on that day
@aviationdocs Its always best to stand behind the German lines, then all the action come towards you, this was the best reenactment I had ever watched, almost film like.
Its strange, but when your in the arena, you don't notice much of what is happening around you, as you are just concertrating on one your own little bit lol.
Nice work , I've been going to the war & peace show most years for the last 20 odd years ( those were the days when it was about £5 entry. !), sadly I noticed the event attracted a lot of right wing types speaking many different languages !
@Wonkabar007 I have seen some other good footage as well on YouTube, (posted by wargamesanorak*), from this event, is it on every year? I'd love to go, if I can get there.. :)
* = he has given me permission to use some of his footage in my modelling videos, which was very kind.. I'm hoping to get a US Half track built some time this week.. :)

derwindhund116 7 months ago
@derwindhund116 I have to say how impressed I was with the battle, it was like watching a war film.
All the reenactors really did a great job, I saw the guy firing the MG42 had a bandage on his hand, was it a prop or had he injured it for real ?
