  • Singapore airlines has the sexiest flight attendants they always have!

  • This video brings me back great memories!!! And the old safety video is much nicer than the new one.

  • This is the old SQ Safety video which is shown on the older B777-300.

  • @Jbmcfmc1428 me too....it always makes me wanna save up to go to another country via SQ

  • I love this video, makes me want to travel

  • I love the song !

  • Awesome

  • The last time i saw this safety video was in 2008. Now it got replaced... :(

  • Singapore Airlines is the best and always will be!!!:):):):D:D:D <3<3<3 Best safety record and I love the fucking music, where do you get the music from???

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH!

  • Luv the old safety video!!

  • @li31186 haha I had him too in 7th grade i think :P

  • great

  • Whenever i see this video , I feel like I'm leaving to another world

  • can somebody please give me the name of the background song? Singapore Airlines NEEDS this theme! it gives a welcoming atmosphere!

  • IS THE PILOT OF THAT PLANE THE CEO ? HE LOOKS ALIKE.

  • This video, its music, being played while on taxi, all added to the excitement of travel!

  • I seriously miss this safety video, been hearing it all through my childhood :D

  • Instead of a person giving sign language, why not just put subtitles?

  • how did they get rid of this

  • I love how calm the passengers (actors) look when reaching for the oxygen masks.

  • They still sound typical Singaporean (singlish)

  • @MrHaizeq This is not singlish, its Standard Singapore English. Colloquial English or Singlish is when there is the use of a mixed of languages.

  • This music always makes me at ease before takeoff :D

  • OMG! I haven't flown on Singapore Airlines in a long time (since 2004-2006) and its still the same?!?

  • @kiaraandgracie no i think its changed

  • I remember this very well

  • anybody know who is the composer or the title of the background music ?

  • She tries too hard to pronounce the words right, it's distracting!

  • It's a new safety video now. no more short hair stewardess

  • It's a bit dull.....

  • Even though I'm a fan of Singapore airlines, this video is boring. I don't think that it will attract passengers attention.

  • @pvinh1501 Honestly, this video is better than the new safety....n this is also comming from a SQfan boy

  • Even though Qantas is my favorite airline, this video is awesome :)The A380 is the best airliner by far :)

  • Even though Qantas is my favorite airline, this video is awesome :)

  • this is the old one

  • I wish they'd use this music on their new safety video

  • god damn every time i go on vacation its always singapore airlines. Oh the horrors of this video scare the crap out of me during take off LOL.

  • love the music...sounds like bad karoake

  • What is the song?

  • There's 2 lang: English and Bahasa Indonesia

  • Man this video takes for ever!! when i watched it on SIA i couldn't be bothered watching it after a while!!! tHEY SO NEED TO MAKE A NEW & SHORTER ONE!!

  • @theloganloganlogan they did make a new one. Its short, yes but it totally sucks and this is coming from a die hard SIA fan boy

  • i love the theme song mmmm... it reminds me of when i went to Istanbul

  • They seem so calm when there is a decompression with no air sucking out very fake, and i am so sure i saw the male flight attendant on my flight

  • Ahh...Have a pleasant flight.

  • singapore airlines is the best airline in the world

  • @pilot1030 I know, they were sooo nice when i flew from Christchurch-Singapore return!!! GOTTA LOVE'EM!!

  • @theloganloganlogan To bad there was an earthquake their. :(

  • @Awertization Yeah, Singapore Airlines was meant to start flying from CHC-SIN everyday starting from March this year but because of the earthquake no tourists want to come here now....so they will continue to fly here 5 days a week :( :(

  • New Safety Vid Sucks and the old one rules.

  • like the music.i want know what the title of the music?

  • this is loooong...

  • I LOVE SINGAPORE AIRLINES. i think that both the new and old saftey videos are good, but singapore airlines ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD. that music brings back memorys. ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! SIA the best. i cant wait to go on an A380!!!!!

  • i was going to singapore on sq1 from san francisco, everyone around me got cookies (breakfast time before landing in hong kong at 7 in da mornin) so when i went to the kitchen and asked for some, the man yelled at me and said NO we dont have any cookies and there was a box of cookies right there

    couldnt stop laughing

    !!!FUNNY!!!

  • OMG, the new safety video sucks! I MISS THE OLD ONE ALREADY, AND I MISS THE SINGAPORE JINGLE!

  • Comment removed

  • ahh the music... makes me kinda sad last time i flown with them was 3 months ago...

  • This video is now part of SIA's history........there is officially a new safety demo for SIA!

  • What's the soundtrack?

  • Singapore Airlines original melody

  • The funniest part of it, I feel, was "Keep your shoes on".. ^.^

  • I've always had this fantasy of wearing high heels sliding down an emergency chute. How about football cleats, spurs or mountaineering crampons?

  • Welcome Singapore Airlines A380 in Zurich from 28th March 2010 :-)))

  • i love singapore airlines woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • nice video

  • i always fly this airline when i watch this video on the plane i panic it gives me great memories

  • same lol. i always wonder why they blow into the mouth pieces like that

  • Anyone can tell me why must the window shades be up? I was wondering...

  • yeah, i don't get that either. maybe it is better!

  • windows shades are up because, in case of an emergency, people (police/firefighters etc) can check if there is still any one trying to leave the aircraft. (Air Steward)

  • I had fun playing around on my Cousin's private jet with the automated announcements including the emergency one. We installed a IFE system with seatback monitors with Airshow. We customized airshow to show estimated time of take off estimated time of arrival at gate, estimated customs clearance time at destination etc.

  • Oh, the music brings back good memorys!

  • Very true indeed!!

  • Awesome safety video, go SIA!!!

  • The announcer is too stiff ...

  • You all must understand that this video was released in 2001-2002. Almost 7 years ago. SIA has already filmed the new safety video which includes the cabin products and the new uniform for the stewards. Should be out by the end of this year.

  • nah i like the song ^^

  • Same music? :)

  • xxquiker or anyone, it would be really great of a help if anyone can upload the new SQ safety video here so I can see it. I am so excited about it :D

  • a very proper and organized video i would say for SIA. the essential safety information is in there and i think SIA deserves the credit to have straight forward info on safety unlike other airlines. this video reflects the organized singaporean life.

thai airways on the other hand is also another good video reflecting their country's specialty.

  • u mean a boring, procedural and always by the book Singaporean life? lol... kidding!

  • hahaha up to you how you want to interpret the typical organized sporean life :-)

  • For all you people who think this is boring-this video can actually save your life and think SIA has one of the best videos out there.

  • are u kidding? SIA has one of the "best" videos? naahhh... think again my friend.

  • Well after reading some of the comments here, let's just say thanks for posting this on youtube and so we can watch when we feel like it.

  • boring... nobody will pay attention. SG is really artless....

  • you really haven't watched other safety videos like Japan airlines/ANA. Singapore Airliens have done a good job in this!

  • come on... thought SG is supposed to be the best?! what happened to that "number 1 in asia" thing? aren't we supposed to raise the bar of standards here?!

I agree with zzesb. delta, southwestern and NZD. watch it!

  • this video is useless.. it makes ppl feel sleepy.. they should do something like delta's or Air new zealand's approach to attract attention.

  • Why the F*** doesnt the bag inflate? what is the point of having the bag if it doesnt inflate!?

  • its just for precautions. These things can and could happend.

  • 0:46-0:50 WTF how do we check our bags while already in the plane. LOL

  • yes thats something that SQ needs to change. Makes no sense

  • is that a boeing 777 or a 747?i dont really know.

  • It is an Airbus A340-500.

  • The Airbus A340-500 now goes to LAX a non stop service frm SIN....SQ 38 all business Class...

  • @SingaporeAirlinesSIN no this is the B777-300ER

  • @airbusrated6 No, that aircraft is an Airbus A340-500.

  • Comment removed

  • @SingaporeAirlinesSIN This aircraft has never been af A340-500. A240-500 has 4 engines. A330-300 has 2 engines ;)

  • @airbusrated6 at 4:33 in the video shows the aircraft above, and there are 4 engines! The 777-300ER have got only 2 engines!

  • @airbusrated6 couldn't be a boeing, look at the seats and windows..

  • @airbusrated6 what i meant is the last part where u see a sia plane flying.

  • @airbusrated6 the 300ER has 5 emg exits it could only be a 200 due to no o/w exit here :)

But look at the video again - they show different a/c models one place it has 4engines another place 2 I think it is an overall video for the entire fleet.

  • it really is a 777-200 that is departing to indonesia or malyasia or taking off frim there . Its a 777, at the end the aircraft flying represents what aircraft and the emergency exits door picture also showed a 777

  • same song! i hearr that twice a year

  • its the singapore airlines song

  • Does anyone know the name of the theme song or and where to get it from?

    x

  • to be honest, i envy SQ...

  • The music for this video is so classic

  • On my 5 and 13 hour flights, I loved this video. Whenever I see this video, it makes me think back about when I was in Europe. To gary747pilot: People panic and do not understand to remain calm or what to do in an emergency situation. A very safe video.

  • nice.. but anyway why u gotta brace for impact just to make a emergency landing?

  • because depending on the impact... it may jerk the spine... this position puts the spine into the best position for pressures onto the spine. Also helps with less whiplash should there been any.

  • because when the aircraft land it may jerk and jolt hard, and in turn will cause spinal damage, but if you are i nthe brace positoon which is a foetal position ur protecting all of your organs, plus the seats on board the aircraft, when the aircraft land hard and jolts the seat back will fall forward giving your back support and protection.

  • I really like the service of Singapore Airlines. I always love flying, especially the routes between Hong Kong and San Francisco (SQ 1, 2) once a year...

Even though it is an overnight flight, the service is still very good.

  • haha. this brings back memories. flew in on the A380 this morning from singapore.

  • i like singapore airlines the best.. i sat on it like more than 10 times..flying to perth and singapore..

  • Why is it that the airline industry still feel obliged on telling their passengers HOW to work a seatbelt?

"To fasten, do this. To unfasten, do that."

Isn't the phrase "fasten your seatbelt" self-explanatory enough?

  • If a passeneger, even an illiterate first time traveller, has successfully gone through the process of booking and paying for a ticket, arranging transportation to the airport, checking in luggage at the counter, passing immigration, customs and security screens, finding the boarding gate and entering the aircraft correctly... I think the same person has enough IQ to figure out the intricate mechanics of a setbelt!!!

  • Hi.

    1. Airlines are required to say so because of international law

    2. If a passenger forgets that he needs to lift the buckle (as opposed to a car-like seatbelt) and the plane crashes, he or she must instantly know how to unbuckle the seatbelt or he could die in a fire

Passengers need to be told, and have the point hammered, how to work a seatbelt in case of emergency. The horse must be beaten to a pulp.

Your post is factually and morally incorrect.

  • The reason is because people are used to car seatbelts and airplane seatbetls are completely different. When a Plane has an emergency or crash, passengers will panic, They will assume and revert back to the IDEA that an Airplane seatbelt works exactly the same way as a car's seatbelt. Constantly pushing down for the release button rather then flipping the hatch. So FAA regulations requires all safety demo to have a demo in how to fasten and unfasten the seatbelt.

  • a disaster response team member recalled that, at a plane crash rescue that he participated, all the passengers had their bodies dissembled into three large chunks, because their seatbelt cut through the body during the fatal crash....

  • Come on man, do you honestly believe people will be thinking "Oh this is so much different than a car seatbelt... I lift up the buckle and not press the belt button. Wow".

If a person has enough IQ to get to the airport, go through customs and immigration, have common sense to pack correctly as to not be detained by airport security... I think the same person can muster enough intelligence to realize the intriquate workings of today's technologically advanced airplane seatbelt.

  • its not my hypothesis, its the FAA regulations perception. FAA did studies and found from passengers who survived a plane crash were constantly pressing for the release button rather then flipping the hatch. Also you have to take into consideration of those who rarely or may have never flown before.

  • Well yeah, I still think it's dumb and unecessary.

It's like those "tear here" instructions on potato chip bags.

  • lol yes

  • Yes... but when people PANIC, they can behave quite differently and forget many things they know. (eg. how to unfasten an airplane seatbelt).

  • Is there a Mandarin Chinese version because I'm Chinese and I wants to hear Mandarin. Aren't most Singapore people Chinese?

  • CACZBE900, Chinese people hold an ethnic majority, but we speak English as our first language. We are a multi-cultural country that speaks many languages.

  • Thank you very much! Sorry for reply so late.

  • I saw this same video when I flew the Vancouver to Singapore route, which they will be canceling on April 25 due to low passenger load.

So I don't think this safety video is limited to just the Indonesia routes, which some of the users here have already indicated.

  • that and due to the fact that Korean Air will daily service into CANADA. The Canadian Government has always had a protectionist rule against SQ. They kicked them out of Toronto and only gave SQ 3X flights a week into YVR. Hopefully SQ will return to YVR

  • It is also very hard to have High Yield loads when your only allowed 3x flights a week. Passengers want daily flights and that was why SQ kept fighting the Canadian Gov for ever since 2007. I guess with the economic crises, SQ had to pull out after so many years of service.

  • wat is the music of the background music???

  • i like the mobile phone and the laptop

  • The Laptop Is Actualy The HP TC1100 its a Tablet PC not a Laptop

  • SQ can't be compared with any other airline , its beyond excellent.

  • damn... this reminds me of my exact feelings when i was on this plane. they should change the video its gettin kinda old

  • This version is not the default version. This is the Bahasa Indonesia text version, obviously used on flights to and from Indonesia :)

  • i love how they said if your electronic device is on turn it off now *as you keep filing =D rofl lmfao*

  • this is an older version of the safety video....

  • wonder when they are gonna change the safety video?

  • It is a decent safety video nonetheless, with sign language included in the video for the deaf. But, if this video could cut down on unnecessary instructions and make it more concise, I bet this would have been the best.

Just look at the Air New Zealand safety video... Short, sharp and sweet. Straight to the point.

  • I love their safety video too althought i been on a plane 1 time on SIA

  • ive been on this air plane alot of time!and i love the saftey video

  • Singapore Airlines will overtake Qantas anytime!

  • true. This is the reason why the Australian government would not grant SQ the right to flight from Sydney to LAX. SQ will crush QF on this route. Aussie government is trying to protect Qantas.

  • Singapore Airlines is allready dominating the Kangaroo route so if the australian gov gives SQ permission to fly between the 2 countries it will kill qantas.

  • I was wondering that when i was on one of the flights last week!

  • I can't believe the Airline industry still tells their passengers how to fasten a seatbelt.

  • I know but the seatbelt demonstration is for newbies inside the aircraft when they don't know how to operate it.

  • God u are dumb and snobish. Not everyone has flown on a plane. Secondly, it is an important safety precaution for first time flyers.

  • mahdogzbite,of cource they say it. wat if someone is travelling on a plane 4 the first time.

  • Singapore Airlines is 1%better that quantas airlines.

  • i luv this safety video!!its the best safety video i've ever seen.

  • The music is beautiful

  • i like the music + sq is the best ailiner

  • In planes with the new products and new KrisWorld, is the safety video any different?

  • Nice safety videos, 5 stars for Singapore airlines and Star Alliance airlines team! Good videos anyway!

  • one of the most relaxing safety videos, really nice.

  • I like the vid but some parts must be corrected such as The Brace position.

  • this country rules and the airline =]

  • SIA is the best airlines in the world

  • i love SQ so much..SQ,i will always support u..

  • Me too...

  • Singapore airlines r the best

  • SIA IS THE BEST!!!!!

  • SIA a great way to fly..

  • SIA IS THE BEST!!!!!

  • well maybe the best

  • sq's the best. best safety video i've seen

  • omg ive seen dis at least 12 times on SIA planes!! ty 4 puttin it on lol.
