  • damn its like real life. is the manhattan add on free?

  • What are your settings in FSX.

  • @Mdemons12 Oh sorry should have read.

  • how did you get this fps *___*

    please tell me ? ;)

  • Dude AMAZING...loving the vid :)

  • Toshiba Protege R700-S1322 Laptop Intel® Core™ i5-560M processor 2.66GHz With Turbo Boost Technology Up To 3.2GHz Genuine Windows 7 Professional (32-bit) Mobile Intel® HD Graphics 64MB-1696MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory 4GB DDR3 memory (8GB Maximum) 320GB HDD 7200rpm SATA DVD-SuperMulti drive 13.3" widescreen HD TFT LED Backlit display Supports 720p content,16:9 aspect ratio,1366x768 (HD) is this good for FSX can it deliver best graphics and smooth game, no stuck and lag?
  • @jr4460 no the sim needs the fastest cpu you can get, look at the posters cpu speed. it needs only one core to run and it needs to be rediculously fast to run at max setting witch without add on scenery still doesnt look that great. I have a 6 core cpu clocked at 3.6 ghz and it still wont run smooth in newyork. with duel gtx 465 sli and 8gigs at 1333.kjfk is horribly optimized airport in fsx, then add HD scenery and good luck.

  • EPIC EPIC EPIC DUDE!!! :D

  • The HD5870 is better than GTX 285? But the HD5870 has only 256 bit I thought and the GTX285 512 bit. Can you help me with a new graphics card decision?

  • Gimmr your comp..LOL

  • Hey man! what cooler do you have and Case?

  • nice video...:)

  • FSX should take out the sinkrate bullshit.

  • what is the best motherboard for fsx

  • @hongkong57 your motherboard does not ultimately determine performance. the hardware you choose to install on your motherboard (Processor, video card, hard drive, RAM) does. only pick a motherboard from a reliable company (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte) that fits the needs for your other hardware. message me if you need any more help!

  • @hongkong57 a ASUS work station board would be the best :)

  • HP Elite Desktop HPE-398d w/

    Intel® Core™ i7 processor 860

    • 2.80 GHz, DMI 2.5GT/s , 8GB DDR3,

1 TB SATA 3G Hard Disk Drive (7200 rpm) NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260 Special Edition

up to 5374 MB total available graphics memory, with 1.8 GB dedicated

    is this good for FSX?

  • VGA Settings (Catalyst): What's the difference between AA Wide-tent and AA Boxed? Any recommends for my Dual 2 Core, 4GB RAM and ATI Radeon HD 5570?

  • Shame you can still see the house and terrain pop up even with such a good card. Damn FSX coding ! lol

  • 727 Captain Sim ?

  • Funny :D

  • wat the hell keeps sayin 'DONT SINK DONT SINK' (or sync) :P

  • YES TRY THE PMDG 747

  • FOR FSX by a usb harddrive then put windows 7 into it form there just having fsx it runs so much better without all my other stuff in the way. =)

  • lolol yes ita a great graphics card i have one too!! but my graphics look better than yours...lolol, thumbs up anyway my friend

  • i7 950 combined with any latest gpu willl provide same fps around. since fsx is more cpu dependant it prolly uses 10%of ur gpu

  • It seems that you didn't activate vsync. It doesn't work by default with ati card and FSX, you have to add the line "forcefullscreenvsync=1" on display part in the cfg file. Of course it will decrease FPS but with a perfect image and video quality.

  • holy shit

  • every single one of your vids are amazing how much you have invested in your comp?

  • Nice video but the quality is not really good.

However I olso want to buy this card but wanted to know that he works good with FSX.

  • Would a 727 really use up that much runway? Nice vid though. I know, I know, this is just probably for testing purposes.

  • an price you computer??

  • Comment removed

  • Hey crashmax, I just upped to 9.12 drivers and had a very substantial increase in my 3d vantage scores. Have you tried those drivers yet with FSX? I'm curious if you are noticing the differences.

  • It seems that new Catalyst 9.12 is better than 9.10/9.11. It gaves me higher FPS. Still tweaking..

  • Hey nice vid and in winter break im gonna make a computer with these peaces

    Ati 5870 x2

    Intel smackover motherboard

    Intel core I7 950 3.33 ghz

    1200 watt power

    8 gb ram

    3 tb memory

  • who cares

  • hi, crashmax, could you list your OC settings of your i7 950? Such as vcore, qpi and pll voltage? And what cooling device do you use? Thanks.

  • hi, I dont have tis chip anymore, but here are the Bios settings (MB ASUS P6T7 WS): VCore 1.4000, VTT(QPI) 1.14, PLL 1.82, VDimm 1.64. All other voltage at default, not Auto.

  • Oh, good. But my 950 is problematic, and I need vcore 1.45 to reach 4.3ghz. I don't know why and maybe the bad batch no.? Do you have some suggestion? Thx!

  • What FPS do you get from your system?

  • In this video I got aroung 20-25. But in FSX FPS don't count much. It's all about smoothness. For high FPS you need even a faster Video-Card paired with a very fast CPU. Now I have a W3580 and even this CPU (at same clock) does not help for higher FPS.

  • FPS is the measure for smoothness(IMO). So that means FSX is harder to run as benchmark than Crysis. How don't ppl use FSX as benchmark. :-) I am considering to buy or not to buy at this stage.

  • You are right for every game other than FSX (which I call not a game ;-)) FSX is CPU bound more than GPU.

  • not entirely true. FSX spawns many processes that eat the hard drives, GPU and CPU without prejudice.

If you max your cpu up to 4GHZ per core then you will find that the bottleneck is in the hard drives which is repaired by SSD technology. Then after that you will find the gpu is bottlenecking where i am now so considering the ATI 5870

  • @cjellwood

I use SSD for FSX. The difference between Raptor and SSD is very small.

FSX most uses the first core. GPU is also important but FSX made make not good use of them and the drivers are not optimised for FSX either

  • @crashmax73

And a 150 GB SSD (the size of a Raptor, or 300 GB depending on the model) is waaaay expensive. :P

  • Never seen scenery density like this, amazing stuff,we shure have come a long way from fs4 as i remember it.

  • Oh yeah ! Wonderful video and game !

  • Nice Traffic. Grat video. 5/5

  • Hey Crash, As usual damn impressive! For nerds, can you throw the FPS(ctrl+z) and stuff up? That we can track as you go.

  • Hi Crash. Great video! I hope you don't mind but I have another question for you. I am trying to install Ultimate Traffic 2 on Windows 7 (same setup as you except i7 920) but when I go to install and purchase it, it tells me that its incompatible with my operating system as it may be 32 or 64 bit thats needed (I have 64-bit). I try to run it as administrator but it doesn't work. How did you install your UT2 on windows 7? Did you have the same issues? Thanks

  • Rightclick -> compatibility -> windows xp sp2

  • Have also Win 7 x64. I simply installed UT2 with out any issues so I can't tell what your problem is. sorry. perhaps you should ask in UT2 Forum.

  • Nice!
