How big do they get? :) i am considering getting a bearded dragon, it will be my first reptile.. i am 32 years so not going to be mean to them. i handled friends snakes and scorpions so i am calm about them i just prefer getting a lizard and bearded dragons seems very calm and social! any warning or important advises for me before i start preparing for purchasing?
@iZilly Bearded Dragons make fantasic pets, they each have different characteristics and most are so funny, I have 4 beardies and i love them to bits, they are so interactive, one of my 4 beardies belongs to my 4 year old son who is great with them. My advice to you would be to look at the state of the beardie and be aware of signs of illness, get a beardie who is alert, there is a forum you can join... mybeardeddragons.co.uk where you can ask questions and get lots of tips and advice.
@nfnla hey idk if anyone answerd your qeuestion, but what worked for me with my dragon was just keep trying everysingle day.start out slow maybe just by reaching in the tank and holding your hand near him for awhile also petting him while hes in the tank, thats just how i got mine to love being held not just by me but now she lets anyone pick her up with no problems at all.anyways i hope this helps and i also have a few vides on my beardie up if you want to check her out =)
Hey my beardie is about 10 inches long...how much crickets and lettuce should I feed them everyday and I feed super worms but those go in a dish and he eats them whenever he wants one
I have a Boston Terrier and a Lhasa Apso, and my two dogs are absolutley fine with our Beardy and the 3 of them often sit together, even on the dogs backs tho obviously would not leave them unsupervised, I would say if the Beardy shows signs of stress then obviously put him back in his viv. But introduce them for small periods over a length of time, and let your dogs see him in his viv. Tho I may be lucky that all my animals are quite chilled.
@dbsk1121 hmm that is a hard one, it is either a months or 2 months some thing like that, if u can tell if it is a guy or girl, then it would be 5 months but i am pretty sure about a months or 2
Hey I think I'm going to get a bearded dragon but I really don't know what to feed them and how t do I handle them when they are babies will the run and go crazy or will they calm
@Mrkdog151 Feed them letace, crickets, and meal worms. I don't know about if they will be calm or not... that depends on their personality. Like humans, every individual animal has a diffrent personality, Just do your research and you'll be fine. ^^
I might save for a bearded dragon when I'm older... my goal right now is to get a ball python..
love ur vids ur a beast i just got my third beardie and its just a baby its adorable and curios of different things and is very energitic but i cant think of a name for it but i also dont know if its a boy or a girl so that makes it harder
Question my bearded dragon doesnt really move around in it cage But when i put her on my bed she runs and she almost falls off (Is She Sick Or something? Please Help
@trayvon123owens is she eating OK,is she going to the bathroom allright, what are you feeding her and what are her temps? if she eats and is going to the bathroom then you are probably fine if you got her from an chain petstore like petco petsmart and others you may have a problem you can go to a vet that is certified for reptiles just to be safe but if her eyes are always closed that could be a sign of many problems.the biggest thing to always keep in mind is if they are eating thay are ok thx
@KIAzombieKIA she's an adult her teps range from 75-80 when she doesnt have a light (for only 2 dys or less) She is eating Fine now I feed her lettuce (She started eating more once i got a light and i havent put her on my bed yet but she seems to be really active now
@trayvon123 she needs 95 degrees basking spot but if she is unger 2 years or not full grown she should have mainly crickets with calcum powder put on them for her main diet until they are fully grown feed them almost entirely crickets and worms every day three times a week they should get calcium powder without d3 put on the crickets
lol your like i desperately need help and now your like oh shes fine one time i almost thought mine had died because it was sleeping wierdly
yes ummmmmmmm if u have two bearded dragons that r males together will they fight or if they grew up togther in the tank that they were if befor i got them would they be ok if they were males?
I have a baby beardie and I think he's about 3 months old but everytime I try to pick him up he hisses kinda and has his mouth open like he's going to bite and he's tries to bite my dad a few times I'm not sure what to do
I just got a beardie from craigslist (don't worry I talked to the guy and he know what he was doing and stuff) and he's 6 months old. The thing is whenever I pick him up out of his cage he freaks out and starts flailing his legs and tail around. How can I get him to stop doing that?
Will they start to move alot if you don't play with them that much? Cus I was packed with homework the last 2 days so I couldn't play with him. Than I finally got him out and he was runnin everywhere lol.
I have a baby bearded dragon, its better to handle them while they're younger so they can get used to your company. But over handling a baby beardie can cause them to be stressed. Other than that they're extremely docile and sweet.
hey , I want a bearded dragon but i never had a lizard before.. i don't really know what to do when they are young . Does i Have to take him many time or just a few time per day or always have him with me , please help me
I know that when Beardies are basking, they tend to open their mouth to allow heat to come out, but I was wondering, why do they sometimes do it when not basking, like this one did it a few times in this vid, for ex. at 2:49?
i have an adult beardie and he is acting weird lately he is agitated alot now but sometimes he's his old self just hanging around and but when i take him out of his tank he's ok for the first part then he runs off and goes to sleep. i wanted to know if there is something wrong with him?
lol , at 3:58 when you said " dont grab him by the tail" and put your hand by his tail he gave you a look that seemed to say " dont even try it " haha
I bought Moe my 1 yr old beardie a month ago im scared to let him run around cuz i dont know if i will catch him or not what is your advice. I am trying a leash right now to start but he dosent seem to like it ...he snaps at me when im trying to put it on
mine never runs of my bed. i was scared of that tooo, but mine wont do that, he will run to the edge of the bed and he will see that its high and he wont jump. the other question i dont know
i have a 7 or 8 month bearded dragon and when i try to hold him for a minute or two, he struggles. so i loosen up my grip and all hw does is try to jump out of my hands. any suggestions? or am i doing something wrong?
I have a 5 month beardie give or take and hes about 8 inches or should be about 8 inches we got him with a tail nip from petsmart and he just had it dangling a inch long dead pice of tail.BUt what age is your"s?

@sandsharky13 That's normal. My baby also does that. :) Try to hand-feed him something he likes. He'll then start to associate your hand with good things (food).
I wish my juvenile beardie was that friendly. I try to handle him all the time.he eats from my hand and lets me pet him, but if i try to pick him up he runs. any Idea why?
hi i am might be getting a bearded dragon and i was wonder does it hurt when they bite i mean does it draw blood?? and how big should their tank be? Please replay
hi there i got given a beardie from my friend but when i place my hand in the cage he opens his mouth the same as yours but he doesnt bite me. what would be the best advise to give to see when i will know that he will be ready for me to pick him up?
@6shaneyG9 jus take time with him. approach him slow make sure you dont put your hand in the cage fast, dont pick him up righ away hold your hand nfront of him, try picking him up from the front
@lliizzaarrddss i have been putting my hand in for nealy a month now and i have also been handfeeding him veggies which is what someone recommended and he now lets me stroke his head but when my hand goes infront to pick him up depending on what mood he is in he either backs away or does his mouth thing. am i doin the right thing as i have made a bit of progress.
@castledragonsword LOL that's a big bullshit, human company? No reptile likes human company, have you ever had a bearded dragon? mine gets fucking angry just getting near the terrarium. Bearded dragons are popular just because they can BEAR and ENDURE human stress and behaviour not like all reptiles do (and so are simple to breed). I would really like to see you pet a chlamydosaurus or a physignatus. Stop saying that reptiles enjoy human company it's ridicolous.
@Nezer90 Let me guess you feed yours with rodents instead of insects that would explain why it gets agressive when you go near it. When the hell did i mention petting any other kind of reptiles?
You also sound too agressive yourself no wonder you cant reach any kind of bonding with it. My friends willingly will go to his hand and climb up to be taken out and about the house it clearly enjoys the company. you just suck at looking after animals
@castledragonsword I feel aggressive with ignorants that claim the holy knowledge saying bullshit.
Btw your guess is totally wrong, they have never been fed with rodents, since they're under the year of age. AHAH I suck at looking after animals? and with what proof are you saying that? You don't even know me and what animals I have. You don't even have a bearded dragon yourself, and claim to know what? Your friend is total idiot and I swear what you want that the bd doesn't feel good.
@castledragonsword Those things I'm saying are test of experience and account of one of the best bd breeders in the world that I know and live here in italy, he's name if you don't even know him it's Alemoz (the one who found the leatherback and silkback morphs), not bullshits you wonder yourself pretending to know things.
Whats the best age for a beardie to be when you buy one? because i find that the little hatchlings are very delicate when it comes to feeding and are much more work.
@manosflu No. Until they are grown you are unable to sex them. Once grown the male will have much larger more pronounced bumps in between the rear legs than the female.
hello, I am hoping to get a bearded dragon soon; is it best to get a bearded dragon when they are only like a week old or when they are a little bit bigger than hatchling size?
My Leopard Gecko died yesterday morning. He ws 7 years old. On the bright side I can buy a Bearded Dragon now. They seem so cool so thanks for the vids.
soooo you carefully place your hand under his belly and support his rear with your other hand, right? srry i had to have it on mute but thats the basic idea, right? if not, please reply and tell me what is
Hey man, we have a beardie and we have been SUPER good to this guy. I mean best tanks, lights, food ect; and he is so agressive!!!! Whats the deal? how do we calm this guy down and get him to let us pet him and hold him without attacking?
@sunnysarajane25 they need handling dailey to be tame.. A friend of friend had a beardie, she tamed it to drink water off your fingers when it was young.. her mate had it for a while about 10 months I think and hardly handled her and lost interest. She took her back and boy was she agressive! She is still working on taming her again and just started with putting her hands in and feeding off long tweezers. She has gotton th the oint where she can stroke her now and is working handling her.
@WoWBronxe beardie comes from bearded dragon. such as crested geckos are cresties and leopard geckos are leos. just a shorter quick way of typing/saying it.
He looks just like my beardie, Bambie!♥

how can you know the sex of your dragon at the age of 2 months?
manosflu 1 year ago
hi there i got given a beardie from my friend but when i place my hand in the cage he opens his mouth the same as yours but he doesnt bite me. what would be the best advise to give to see when i will know that he will be ready for me to pick him up?
6shaneyG9 1 year ago
@6shaneyG9 jus take time with him. approach him slow make sure you dont put your hand in the cage fast, dont pick him up righ away hold your hand nfront of him, try picking him up from the front
lliizzaarrddss 1 year ago
@lliizzaarrddss i have been putting my hand in for nealy a month now and i have also been handfeeding him veggies which is what someone recommended and he now lets me stroke his head but when my hand goes infront to pick him up depending on what mood he is in he either backs away or does his mouth thing. am i doin the right thing as i have made a bit of progress.
6shaneyG9 1 year ago
@6shaneyG9 the best advice is to not handle him, this video is stupid, bearded dragons don't like to be handled, like ALL reptiles.
Buy a dog or a cat if you want to pet or handle them.
Nezer90 11 months ago
@Nezer90 actually the reason bearded dragons are so popular is because they are very prone to enjoying human company over time
castledragonsword 11 months ago
@castledragonsword LOL that's a big bullshit, human company? No reptile likes human company, have you ever had a bearded dragon? mine gets fucking angry just getting near the terrarium. Bearded dragons are popular just because they can BEAR and ENDURE human stress and behaviour not like all reptiles do (and so are simple to breed). I would really like to see you pet a chlamydosaurus or a physignatus. Stop saying that reptiles enjoy human company it's ridicolous.
Nezer90 11 months ago
@Nezer90 Let me guess you feed yours with rodents instead of insects that would explain why it gets agressive when you go near it. When the hell did i mention petting any other kind of reptiles?
You also sound too agressive yourself no wonder you cant reach any kind of bonding with it. My friends willingly will go to his hand and climb up to be taken out and about the house it clearly enjoys the company. you just suck at looking after animals
castledragonsword 11 months ago
@castledragonsword I feel aggressive with ignorants that claim the holy knowledge saying bullshit.
Btw your guess is totally wrong, they have never been fed with rodents, since they're under the year of age. AHAH I suck at looking after animals? and with what proof are you saying that? You don't even know me and what animals I have. You don't even have a bearded dragon yourself, and claim to know what? Your friend is total idiot and I swear what you want that the bd doesn't feel good.
Nezer90 11 months ago
@castledragonsword Those things I'm saying are test of experience and account of one of the best bd breeders in the world that I know and live here in italy, he's name if you don't even know him it's Alemoz (the one who found the leatherback and silkback morphs), not bullshits you wonder yourself pretending to know things.

i followed your advice and it works :) thx

Whats the best age for a beardie to be when you buy one? because i find that the little hatchlings are very delicate when it comes to feeding and are much more work.
Fizano55 1 year ago
@Fizano55 i find its good, when there a cupple months old.

@lliizzaarrddss is there any way to know the sex of tha dragon at this age?i want to buy one at christmas and i want to buy a male...
manosflu 1 year ago
@manosflu there may be pours on there underside near the back legs, but at 2 months im not 100% sure
lliizzaarrddss 1 year ago
@manosflu No. Until they are grown you are unable to sex them. Once grown the male will have much larger more pronounced bumps in between the rear legs than the female.
MrHarleyheathen 10 months ago
@Fizano55 dunno but in sweden they shold over 20 cm long) law on that but mine was like 13 cm lol

Hey man, we have a beardie and we have been SUPER good to this guy. I mean best tanks, lights, food ect; and he is so agressive!!!! Whats the deal? how do we calm this guy down and get him to let us pet him and hold him without attacking?
sunnysarajane25 1 year ago
@sunnysarajane25 they need handling dailey to be tame.. A friend of friend had a beardie, she tamed it to drink water off your fingers when it was young.. her mate had it for a while about 10 months I think and hardly handled her and lost interest. She took her back and boy was she agressive! She is still working on taming her again and just started with putting her hands in and feeding off long tweezers. She has gotton th the oint where she can stroke her now and is working handling her.
