Useless to run Css with crossover, it'll lag too much, the only solution is to run it with bootcamp.

But anyway Css is gonna be available soon on Macos ;)

download crossover games 8, sellect install package, select steam via download, it will automaticaly download and install steam and all the requirements for steamgames to run propperly like the flash player, core fonts, directx etc. no problems so far.

and i just bought a pirated dvd of source today. in d disk is the css logo and thats it. when u double click on it you can play it.

how did you get counter stike in "my games". steam downloaded and it works, but it says I need a flash plug-in, of course I already have it so the menu is messed up. loooooooost as phuck.

btw if anyone here wants to sort out skins and demos (u wanna get to steamapps folder) here is how u get there

mac hd -> users -> [your area] -> library -> application support -> crossover -> bottles -> [folder called the bottle u used to instal steam] -> drive c -> program files -> steam -> steampps

hmmm soz im not sure about sprays cos u just have to find the picture when you select a spray in the options menu. try putting a picture in the virtual c drive and see if you can find the picture when importing a spray in the multiplayer options in the main screen. if this doesnt work i cant help you, sorry :(

omg its so wierd, i installed css on my mac mini with crossover games and every time i joined a server it shut down immediately. then i installed it using the normal crossover and it works perfectly! i get a solid 60fps on all maps except inferno in direct x 7 (70-80 with caseys config) and i get 60 with direct x 8.1 with caseys config :P

umm well if your doing what the guy in this video is doing then i cant help you. i used the crossover "games" program which is specifically for windows games, this didnt work for me, then i used the original crossover used for programs like photoshop windows etc... this worked for me. or it may be that you need to install the "crossover HTML Engline" cos i think that has someting to do with it.

Try downloading the HTML engine and tell me if it works, il try and look for other solutions :D

so you only have to install steam through crossovergames and then you just install the games you buy through steam ?

yeah, when u install crossover a replica c drive is installed, then when u install steam all the games you download (through steam) are in that c drive folder in the steam folder :D

..............maybe some people just have a mac, or maybe its just personal preference, my pc is a piece of shit and my macbook pro with its dual graphic cards and 4 gigs of ram works great and is damn good for alright gaming. So I would prefer to use my macbook to play CS:S ofcourse with external monitor and Keyboard :)

ive found that running crossover runs the game better than it did in crossover games. And also, macs are FARRR better inside and out that a pc, even the lower end macs blow the same gen pc's apart.

steam is for microsoft only so even if you succesfully cross it over it will not run as good

ok i downloaded the cs steam exe and i opened it with cross over when it get installs it opens up a window that says looking for stem updates then it searches for a while then it says it couldnt find the steam server what am i doing wrong

just try, crossover is an app, for running windows aplications, with the extensions ".exe". Not every app runs.. but i say just try it...

This is probably because you have a PowerPc Mac, u need Intel to run CrossOver. All the new Macs should support this.

Actually, it is very easy to operate. I ran out of trial for CrossOver Games and I downloaded this app called Darwine. It was soo confusing to operate and I finally just broke down and bought CrossOver Games. It is very impressive.

It is either because you didn't finish downloading the game or you can set your launch options to -windowed when it is 100% done.

i have followed the instructions, downloaded steam and installed Counter Strike as told but when I launch CS all i see is a black screen, though i can hear the sound of the mouse rolling over the "Create new game" and "Quit game" and so on. If this had happened on my PC i would try to chance the resolution. I know that the problem is i have a MacBook 2.5 Ghz and using Tiger. Is it because i am playing Counter dont Strike and not source?

the problem is Direct X. intel GMA (3100) don't support direct X 9.0 and CSS is in direct X 9.0 (default).

You must click right on "Counter Strike : Source" (in the main window of steam) / propreties / option at lunch / and write this : -dxlevel 80

En gros j'installe comme sur ton tuto. Je rentre mes infos dans la connexion au compte Steam, sa fait les mises à jours. Puis on doit fermer l'installeur CrossOver, après sa, je double clique sur l'icone de Steam, l'icone apparait même pas une seconde et disparait.

cross over doit toujours être lancé. le plus simple pour ne pas avoir de problème reste de passer par crossover pour lancer Steam.

Hi. Yes i have a little lags. I dont know why. Maybe ou video card (nvidia 8800gt) and mac's drivers are not very good. I think Ati driver are better than nvidia for Mac os x. But with boot camp i dont have any problems.
