  • ブレッドじゃなくてパンズなんだ。

    マックでバイトしてた時にパンを「バンズ」って言ってました。

    アメリカイングリッシュとイギリス英語での違いなんですか?

  • lol, ONE person don't like, forever alone

  • i feel like since i cant see where he is going that he will fall in the lake at any second. great vid by the way!

  • Wierdest things i EVER ate- steemed dandilions and goat brains and fish cheeks( fish cheeks were actually the only ones that tasted good)

  • where i live we have good seasonal foods "california"

  • Hi, my son is dying to find out where you got those (and what brand $) kool sunglasses.

  • HAHA, men CAN multitask lol, you're right. your videos are really good, japan is a really beautiful place.keep up the good work

  • Hey, you were in my home town, Akashi! It's right place for tasty foods... not only sweet poteto buns. Don't worry about fart. Any Japanese foods are full of fiber. It's no point of worrying about it. hehe.

  • Maple leaves ^_^

  • for Christmas eve my big sis made gingerbread cake with caramelized pears on (or the side of) it. it sounded nasty but it was reeeealllyy good!

  • If Japanese food is so great then why do they slaughter dolphins to eat?

  • When I went to Barbados there is this food call flying fish! OM NOM NOM

  • walking and eating!!!!! Shitsurei dattayo!!! :P but i dont know about vlogging and walking, maybe thats "forbidden" too ;) keep up the good work, love your food videos! :)

  • @supertotoro ahahaha I was wondering about the eating while walking too XD

  • AKASHI !!!

  • Hej Busan Kevin, really enjoy your videos. However, speaking of seasonal food: there is also seasonal beer thats sold in Denmark. So those guys got their favourite jul øl, which is their Christmas beer, and Easter beer also. There is a big hype on that and I have met people who went to the supermarkets that day its been issued even before the store was open to be the first to lay their hands on the latest Christmas or Easter brew. Weird ...

  • Bread of sweet potato.

    The chest is burnt. (munayake)

    However,

    It is delicious.

  • in my country the most popular seasonal food in summer is a cold soup called "tarator" - basically it's yougurt with cucumber pieces and some seasoning. mostly drank like juice but fundamentally it is a soup

  • i want to go to japan if i had more money >.<

  • OMNOMNOMNOMNOM!

  • Hey Kev, what about "Lonnieburgers?" Had some today!

  • Hot sake would taste especially good in the fall, eh?

  • Oh say, HOW much are the snacks, there please? I like knowing prices of stuff relative to your home, in Canada and mine here in the US (Wash. state)

  • The way to connect with another culture right off, is to EAT the stuff other's DO :)

Hence, the appeal of food world-wide.

I love how seasonal Japan seems to be. I say "seems to be" because I have never been there.

I love Kirin and Asahi beers, by the way. I ration myself to TWO beers daily.

I love roasted sweet potatoes. I HATE chestnuts :( Too mushy.

  • A bun or pie you could call it is a lotus seed pie it's so good

  • peeps!!

  • I like the way of your eating, which always makes me hungry. Thank you for your fun videos.

  • seasonal... here in canada, we have ice cream cones in the summer. pretty amazing huh

  • I went to Brazil in July, the middle of winter for the southern hemisphere. They eat a lot of a dish called feijoada. It is black beans, 2-3 types of meat, sometimes pieces of pumpkin or pearl onions, served with rice, sauteed greens, and fried cassava. It is really good, extremely filling and makes you feel warm, and like you should go lift weights (so much protein...)

  • I went to Japan last year in November! You should do a video on momiji manjuu!

  • that is a good idea. The leaves are really stating to change in Kyoto I hear!

  • Hello! I really enjoy your videos! Some of the seasonal food we have here in California (and im sure in other parts of the states) is blue moon Ale. They have a summer, fall winter and spring ale. Very tasty! Also, a local frozen yogurt shop makes pumpkin spice frozen yogurt in the fall, also very good.

  • Those sound great. Japan has some really good seasonal beers as well. Pumpkin yogurt sounds tasty!

  • it was great!

  • The sweet potato bun looks great! I love it when the sweet potato man drives past our house and my daughter and I race out to flag him down. The event reminds me of chasing the ice cream truck back home. Thanks for sharing! -Kurt :-)

  • That is nice. the sweet potato trucks aren't so common in these parts. There is one that occasionally appears on some winter evenings.

  • the thought of a sweet potato bun makes me fart a lot too. hmmm...odd.

  • haha! Nice ;)

  • Japan has these cold noodles, dipped in a spicey soy-based sauce... forgot the name, but not the recipe, which I brought home for hot summer days.

Germany has a sort of dumpling made with liver. Only eaten in winter (because liver draws flies).

... sweet potatoes make you fart a lot?

Can you imagine that this was a piece of information that nobody's interested in???

    *lol*

Cuz now we know that your wife ate a bun, too, and that you're gonna have a smelly duet concert in bed.

    T-M-I !!!!

    :-)

  • I love food too, I'd travel just to get to eat some rly nice food, lol.

    anyway, rly nice video :D

  • shit, dude. that sweet potato bun looks delicious

  • it was awesome!

  • Sweet shades!

Seasonal foods... though one. Up north they eat surströmming and all that crap, but here i guess theres only one in the summer; crayfish.

For drinks i can only come up with one softdrink called "must". Google it if yer interested in knowin what it is or visist your local IKEA in Christmas time, i guess they serve it.

  • I've seen several wines at IKEA (the store is located a 10 minutes walk from my house). Is it a red wine type of drink?

  • Its actually a softdrink or whatever you wanna call it, non alcoholic. Its made from malt and hops, the same as beer. It looks a bit like coke but its somewhat darker and it foams like a champagne would. Must is selled at Xmas and at easter, Julmust & Påskmust

  • Eating on camera is not that bad, just don't float air biscuits, that's nasty baby. I like the "Yaeahhhh" sound effect added, I love doing that stuff myself.

  • I fiind it makes thing cuter...the sound effect....not the air biscuits!

  • I LOVE FOOOOOOOOOOODDD

  • me too ;)

  • I work in a small countryside school and the parents are always bringing things in from their gardens or home-baked goods. We have one mom that makes these amazing baked goods that she brings in twice on a Saturday. Once when she drops her kid off and once when she picks her kid up. She brought in something I think was sweet potato bread with raisins in it. Don't usually like raisins but this was fantastic.

  • Wow....you are really lucky! I'd love to have that sort of service :)

  • *gasp * You are walking and eating!! SHAME! In Kamakura they sell sweet potato ice cream frequently. It is pretty tasty. In Yokohama's Chinatown you can't walk down the street without chestnuts being shoved in your face with persistent people trying to get you to buy a bag. hm.. other than that I've not seen anything particularly fall food yet. I'll have to try to find something now! Fun video!

  • IFrom what i gather....the walking and eating thing only offends some really old folks. Not such a big deal in these parts. I see Japanese people 30's and under doing it all the time!

  • I love watching videos on food and people cooking food...specially cute girl cooking videos XD anyways so far my favorite asians eats from you is the Bento box. By the way i never had sweet potato for the 16 years of my life until recently this summer when i went to korea and my host family gave me sweet potato pizza with sausage...BEST DAMN PIZZA EVUR!! (Better than hawaiin pizza!)

  • looks good. yea, u going to fart alot.

oyea, i mentioned a request on ramen sometime ago. XD

  • I will I will.....I love noodles more than any other food in Japan! I'll get some for lunch tomorrow!

  • Is it hard to find sweet potato fries? I know you can make them at home.. but, just wondering in they sell it as a item on a menu at any restaurant..

  • Good question...I'm not sure. I had some friends who always got them at our favorite pub in Ottawa! Also....you can get them everywhere in Korea :) I have to admit though...i like salty, unsweet fries :)

  • I don't know, sweet potato and bread all at once seem kinda hard to swallow without a drink lol!

  • it was actually really moist.....no beverage needed!

  • the whole idea behind seasonal food and festivals is pretty cool. nom nom nom

  • I agree whole-heartedly!

  • You look the happier when your eating :)

  • I am indeed!

  • chest nuts roasted over and open fire

  • w00t.. u should try some of the.. candy.. on tape lol ive had some I love.. like the little pancake candy..and some I HATE (tasted like squid) i think that would be super interesting to see your reactions to candy :D

  • Overall, red ale's are probably my favorite kind of beer.

As forseasonal's, Sam Ada,'s Octoberfest is really good and I love Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy, which is probably the most refreshing beer I've ever had.

  • I am impressed I would of certainly have ended up in the little pond.

  • haha....maybe I did....and went back the next day to re-film wearing the same clothes ;)

  • Who are these people? haha Excellent video. 5 starzz

  • I know! Who are the folks telling me I can't multitask?

  • Wow...don people give you bad looks sometimes? Eating while walking in Japan is taboo.

  • That taboo seems to be a little dated. maybe it is for the older generations, but I see people in their 30's and younger eating in public all the time. Many young Japanese have no idea what i am talking about when I mention this taboo.

  • Comment removed

  • I love types of foods in the Fall and Winter.

  • Well... did you fart a lot afterwards?!?

  • I always do :)

  • When you said "Who said men can't multitask?" I was kind of expecting you to trip and drop your snack and/or camera lol.

  • Love Asian cuisine and your videos about Japanese cuisine.

  • great! Glad you enjoy :)

  • I bake sweet potato pie every year

  • cool! It isn't common in Eastern Canada where I grew up!

  • I love your food video. They are always so interesting and make you really hungry afterwards. Keep them coming!

  • Japan is a very seasonal country, at least in Kanto. I love the chestnut desserts they make!

  • My favorite seasonal conbini food in Japan was "nikuman" damn they were good.

  • That is great stuff to munch on!

  • Damnit you made me hungry, I want one of those sweet potato buns...

  • in my home town we have a pumpkin festival. theres pumpkin beer and the every kind of candy you can imagine thats made with pumpkin!

  • I like sweet potato pancakes.

  • LOL, hmmm seasonal foods in NS.. hmmm, probably only hunting, so vension, moose. or a new styyle of pizza from a pizza joint, nothing too exciting here Kev. lol

  • pears are in season in the autumn time of year. maybe squash too? i don't know. any sort of hearty food is popular here in the US during the autumn seasons.

  • Hey thats the price you pay for some thing soo good! Try not to fart too much!

BTW Where do I send the beer for twobeersinasia? cuz i wasn't jokeing! ahahaha

  • Everyone loves food...well a few exeptions but people generally like food. I remember in Iran, they sell hot beetroot on days when it was really cold. Its like heaven on a cold day.

  • you and food. =)

at least i'm eating as i watch this food video this time

  • +_+

  • That looked good......... I want one now.

I dunno really know cool seasonal food from back home, but I'm happy about that change in seasons because I am all about some egg nog. I also love the cold weather, Football (American, not soccer), and Thanksgiving.

  • I think they need to make seasonal foods to boost sales in the fierce Japanese market. Words "Seasonal" and "Limited Time" attract people's eyes for sure.

Sweet potatoes and chestnuts are considered to be the girls' favorite foods in Japan along with pumpkins.

  • You're funny Kevin... first thing you mention is the beer.

  • That sweet potato cake looks delicious :)

  • that beer name 秋味(akiaji) is the salmon swimming up stream I think... strange name for a beer if that is the case...I guess they could be saying just fall flavor.. the puzzles of japanese never cease to show themselves.. haha

  • Kevin; when I was there I once had a candy jelly that was really good. It was packaged in a rather expensive looking way, the candy itself was wrapped in cellophane and then that was slipped into its own little box, which came in a larger box of many. I later found out the candy was made from red beans, but it was really good. If you know what the brand name or who made it (or candies like it) are that would be cool. It was a very soft jelly, not at all like English jellies or gummies.

  • I'm disappointed in you Kevin. You were supposed to BEEEEE like Daichen!!! the bun should've been gone 5 seconds after you took the first bite!!! oh well, the fart comment at the end will make up for it....

  • i should have eaten that in one bite...sorry :(

  • i went to a non-profit restaurant run by the Womens institute (i think?) up in the mountains. the place was only open a few months of the year because all it sold was cold soba with mountain weed tempura. it was completely dependant on the weed being in season. and it tasted gooood

  • Thanks for showing that!!!!

  • There are quite a few seasonal foods where I live on Cape Cod near Boston. September is the scallop feast for our town. Seasonal beers cram the shelves. Bags of cranberries become ubiquitous and little 2 pound sugar pumpkins show up. They are used to make soups and are very full of seeds. So, living on the ocean we scoop out the seeds, soak them overnight in sea water and then roast them to make a snack.

In fact, there is a real change from Summer into Fall with what's offered on menus.

  • "fall-ish" HA! I'd go with autumnal myself. But I kid, I was in the beer importing business for a spell... We had stuff from Kiuchi Brewery, "Nest Beer", Ibaraki Prefecture.

    Great video!

  • I like the food videos too. There really are a lot of seasonal food items in Japan.

I've been meaning to edit a 10 course Japanese meal I filmed a while back.

  • omg, yeah! You totally should get that up. I was always meaning to film myself eating some amazing meal like Kaiseki ryouri. But then I'd just want to dig in right away and not worry about vlogging, hahaha.

  • I like your sleek editing as of late.

  • Thanks you very much! I plan on a software upgrade soon (not super soon) so expect even more!

glad to see you're still vlogging regularly from the USA! I tell you...what I miss about North American life...affordable coffee!

  • Haha, yeah. It's almost nice sometimes in America when you just want something cheap and sloppy and fast. It was almost annoying in Japan how you always have to pay the extra buck for the entire asthetic EXPERIENCE of it all, know what I mean?

  • some beercompanies in holland have seasonal beers as well, there's even a tour every half year to taste all the different spring/fall beers in all the different bars

  • I like your adventures.

  • Kevin Don't ever stop whit the Food Videos :D they are really interesting ! :)

They are probably my fave kinds of Videos you do ^_^

    Keep up the good Work!

  • awesome! I will indeed keep them coming! They are fun to make :)

  • I would love to try the seasonal pepsi shiso, that well didn't make it by the end of the season

  • haha....sorry :( It is in transit!!!!!!! You will indeed have a chance within the next two weeks :))))))

  • Loved the vid and I think it's super sweet that you are bringing one home to your loved one. :)

  • thanks a lot! I did indeed get one for her! :))

  • I do love meh some food porn. Awesome vid, thanks.

But could you please describe the taste, texture, smell of the food in the future? I'm sure its awesome but that doesnt help my imagination a lot.

Anyways, fall is coming soon over here in The Netherlands and one of my favorite seasonal dishes has got to be hotchpotch or Hutspot as we say in Dutch. Its boiled potatoes, carrots and onions mashed together usually served with smoked sausage thats deliciously salty and juicy usually made from pork

  • it was sof, moist, sweet in a mild way. It wasn't overpowering like most Western sweets. The "sweet" level of most treats in japan is very mild and almost subtle.

I will for sure describe the taste more next time! Very honesty.....this is the sort of comment that will make my next food vid better!!!! Thank you.

  • I tired Akiaji beer last weekend. But I was already drunk when I started drinking that. So I can't remember it was good or not. Damn it!

  • it is REALLY nice! Try one sometime when you are sober ;) hehe

Great to hang out with you the other night! You are a cool person for sure!

  • Bom chicka wa wa. Someone got some!

  • haha....sorry to disappoint, but not that sort of meeting...check out KansaiPJ's new vid. A group of us Japan vloggers met in Osaka for dinner....not a boot knockin session;) hahaha

  • I adore you :P

  • thanks a lot!.... ;)
