  • There is a song by boyce avenue called Briane it a song about someone taking their life talking her loved ones, It makes me think of this song.

    Chorus:

    Though I’ve gone away;

It kills everyday to knowI killed what meant most to you.

So when pass my grave leave a rose for what might been.

And know that it’s ok to shed your fears and find love again. Boyce Avenue

The first time I actually saw Bobby he was working as a server in a deli/restaurant

and he served, or at least brought the order to our table. I had been living in

SoCal where I had grown up in my moms' home, and had come out to her the previous year. Because she was going through a tough divorce with her

second husband, my coming out was all too untimely and she couldn't

    quite cope.

  • @blainebill39 That's a very touching story. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • @kikiandtarb4ever

Very descent and kind of you to share words of comfort and it is

appreciated! Bobbys' suicide did occure almost 30yrs ago, and you

might be pleased to hear that I was able to go on to life full of many

enriching experiences. I'm sure it would be true to some degree that

I never properly grieved for him!

Thank you, and may G-D bless you

    Sincerely,

    Blaine

  • I took a road trip with my father to visit my grandmother in Sacramento today.

On the way, I told him that I had been thinking a great deal about Bobby lately.

I reminded him of the instances that he allowed me to have Bobby sleep over,

and he not flinching over the two of us sharing a bed together in my room! How

remarkably progressive of my college football playing, mans' man father!

This was 1981-1982 folks! I thanked him for being the completely accepting

and loving dad that he was!

  • @blainebill39 You knew him?

  • My all American jock father, on the other hand, professed that he had no problem

with his son being gay! So I was being delivered by my mother to live in Lafayette

with my father, I was 16 and a half. In the restaurant, I just prayed that my folks

would not pick up on the chemistry(cruising) welling up between Bobby and

myself! Though Bobby was very discreet in front of my folks, he was able to

subtly communicate to me his attraction. We wouldn't actually meet for months

    later

This is a song from a band called Boyce about this same subject of suicide; It is a beautiful song just like the movie I tear up every time I hear it.

    Buona Sera!

    Ciao!

Grazie for sharing that, I'm quite touched! Lately, I've been having quite a time wrapping my head around the idea that by 2013, it will have been 30 years since Bobby's passing! But sadly and needlessly I might add, it's still occurring and must stop! Thank you again my friend "Tu sei un Angelo"! (You're an Angel)

  • I got a question what movie is this I have got to see this

  • It's called Prayers for Bobby, I saw it on Lifetime. It was a wonderful movie, but I warn you now it made me cry 3 times.

  • OMG! SHE'S NOT DEAD! XD jk

    Great job.

  • I have seen it a couple times and I can't help but cry. It makes me hate all people who don't thinkg being gay is okay.

This is my favorite movie ever.

  • wats the movie about?

  • It's a true story, about a boy named Bobby whose mother is a very devoted Christian. He realizes he's gay and tells his mom but she doesn't understand and tries to "fix him". Eventually he gets so upset that he kills himself. It's incredibly sad.

  • that sounds sad! i think ive watched the trailer and like almost cried!

  • I wanted to see that movie so much!

    and this is great!

    its great alyssa!

  • It's amazing, you should definitely see it! But if you're easily affected by sad movies, you'll probably bawl your eyes out just like I did. My sister ran downstairs twice to make sure I wasn't choking! =^.^=

  • im not that affected...

it was only on once that i know of and i had to go to bed when it came on

  • You can watch it on Veoh.

  • no, im cul, but thanks! ^.^
