  • 'Allo grrrrrrandmutha!

Like to see Ronnie bloody Spector do this. Actually, no, no I wouldn't. Sorry.

  • Goose bumps all over. It’s nice to see Darlene’s baby sister Edna Wright ( of 1970’s Honey Cone fame) joining in with the choir. She’s the platinum blonde in the first row, left of screen.

  • the best the best and awesome

  • so this woman is supposed to be 70.. say what now? o_0

  • Tell everyone you know about Darlene Love - because believe it or not, there are people in the world who don't know who she is! Is there an entertainer in the world more deserving of a Tony Bennett-like rebirth? I don't think so. She is the best. There is no one like Darlene. Rock On Darlene Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She gets better and better

  • OOOOHHHHH My God!! Darlene Is Beyond Belief. So Beautiful & Moves

Like a "16" yr old..... Her Voice is Rich & Strong!!

Darlenes Absoloulty Unbelieveable....This is One of the Reasons She Is In

  • Gives me chills and fond memoriesf past christmases

  • Excellent musical performance!

  • And 70 Years old! Paul Shafer did a super job of ramping up his band to replicate Spector's "Wall of Sound". This clip choked me up. God bless you Ms Love for being so talented! Long may you Rock on!!!!

  • Oh Wireman, thank you so much for posting this. I can hear it over and over again! Darlene is really the best, her voice brought tears to my eyes.

  • ...a yearly ASTOUNDING production...thank you!

The Wall of Sound lives on.................

  • CBS' Sunday Morning featured her today, Christmas, with more about her career; what she went through in the '60's working with Phill Spector and others, even worked as a maid for awhile. Btw, she's 70 and sensational!

  • Because of my job which I am very thankful for, this was the first time I got to see Darlene do it live!! Fabulous !

  • The Queen of ChristmasMusic!

  • Why I am listening to this over and over and over again... could it possibly be one of the best voices I've heard everrrrrrr!!!! I will buy every record she's ever made... for real!

  • I forgot to record this so thanks for uploading.

  • Folks, please, PLEASE Forgive me... White Audience members in the balcony cannot keep time! Perhaps it's the number of stairs... I dunno. I was taught by a Competent Black Woman - of whom I love.

    Stephen.

  • She is AMAZING!!

  • Wow, I never watch Letterman, so I didn't know that this was a tradition. This is the first one I've seen, and it's a wonderful thing. Thanks wireman, for uploading, and thanks to whoever is behind getting this production done on the show. I know it's a lot of money to get all the musicians and chorus together. Fantastic!

  • I may not like Letterman much, but THIS is one tradition I'm glad he's kept. This song is epic.

  • tears tears tears the best

  • Entertainment at its best.

  • Finally, the 2011 version! Merry Christmas everyone, especially you Mrs.Love!

  • The best thing on TV for the entire holiday season.Fantastic.

  • It really is a tradition for David to have her on the show each year since 1986..hard to believe she is 70...amazing talent..thanks for sharing

  • Thanks, Darlene...fabulous tradition

  • Just great - look forward to this every year. Darlene own this.

  • 25 years and counting, getting better and better. Thanks wireman for the upload, am proud n happy to be the first to comment.

  • @mikem1966 I'm sure someone will upload a better digital version soon,,, I had to resort to old-school analog VCR recording coupled through an ATi TV Wonder module installed on Windows XP all because my Windows 7 O.S. is not compatible! It's the MUSIC that counts!

    Merry Christmas!

  • @525wireman Dang, she gets better every year!!

  • @525wireman

If Darlene Love's Music came across via Morse Code or Semaphore, my comment would be no less. You did fine.

    Stephen.

  • @525wireman nothing beats analog sir!!!! i did sound for 10 years plus in NYC area...give me a Midas over a PM5D any day!!!!!!! Analog rules!!!!! great video and great sound for a live performance!!! great job!!

  • @MrColeycole22 I was limited with the crappy equipment I have and the non-compatible OS (Windows7) that my encoding software wouldn't work on. I'm surely not as versed as you in today's digital audio technology but I know what sounds!

YT won't let me post the web-site link but look up Coutant and scroll to the bottom, listen to all the mics. It makes it hard to decide which ones sound best! LOL! I grew up with the RCA -77 DX as my favorite mic.
