  • Does anyone know where there's a video about everyone singing Bringing in the Sheves (I really want to find that)?

  • @TheRaker55 It was Season 6, episode 173 or 174 The Church Organ. The first hymn sung after Clara receives the new organ is "Bringing In The Sheaves." The congregation then sings "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms."

  • @unclewalt56 Thanks man.

  • Every time I am in church this happens to me. But it's not like I dont want to listen to what he says it's just that that is always the time that I am tired.

  • Is there a All Souls Church in London too?

  • The All Souls Church could use a little soul......know what I'm sayin'?

  • never a more honest depiction of church has been created, so close to the truth...wonder why so many people are leaving???

  • This is like the old German Evangelical Protestant Church that is my heritage from my dad's side.

The difference is the old German ladies would wear the Russian kerchief (since we are Germans from Russia). The worship was in German.

One old lady said that (when they went to English) "In Heafen, ve speak German. On Eard, ve speak Anglisch." :)

I miss the old Evangelical Church. People had faith in those days. That's why this "Andy" episode is refreshing.

  • my grandfather used to fall asleep in the choir loft!

  • I'm a regular church-goer, and when I fall

asleep is usually when a preacher wanders from

the Bible and starts telling moralistic stories

from his life, or somebody else's life, or just

plain story telling, rather than digging in the

Word. Been there, done that (snork, zzzzzzz).

  • Notice how outside of Clara no one brought their Bible's to Church?

  • Probably the best TAGS episode... Now be honest, how many of us have felt like Gomer and Barney lol! I'm not a Bible-toting holier than thou person, but why don't we ever see ANY of this on tv anymore?

  • @GuitarMan027 unless you go to the gospel channel or something. Its definately not on regular tv programs any longer.

  • How often do you see church going families in todays shows? Even the best shows the networks offer now still ignore the fact that a lot of people are still church goers. It's a shame. Even a show like Dan Ackroyd's "Soul Man" where he played a minister rarely showed him actually in the church.

  • people have become so "pc" that they dont want to offend any body. times have changed.(not for the better)

  • @troyhale34 Times have changed? All you have to do is listen to Joel Osteen and hear this crap. Now, if you want to not be pc, go to a church that preaches both law and gospel.

  • hernje, newsflash. Danny Thomas and Sheldon Leonard were both Jewish.

  • Danny Thomas was an Arab (Lebanese) Christian.

This show was a nice wholesome family show. Too bad they don't make them like this anymore.

Mohamed Rahaman (Yes, I am Muslim and I rather my children watch this that the crap that passes for comedy these days.

  • I know a few people like Gomer and Barney who fall asleep in church.

  • My favorite single scene of all time.

  • The greatest is after the sermon Barney tells the minister "That's a subject you can't talk enough about - Sin" Classic

  • "In our furious race these days to conquer outer space...... are we not perhaps forgetting, INNER space....."

    LOL he has a point

  • One of the best single scenes they ever did. :)

  • LOL

  • yeah i wish i was around back in them days i love the 60's thank about the 60's all the time's i was'nt even born till 79 i love barny he made this show like old andy to old andy lived along time and still kicking it

  • I love Gomer! hahaha
