im getting one of these soon with my compensation from a idiot drunk driver pulling out on me from a side road. as soon as my broken arm is fixed this will be mine :D cant wait. but im gettin the rossi version
First time i rode a bike I bought a CBR900RR at a dealer and rode it home by myself, 35 km. Since then i've learned a lot about the risks on the road...
this is 1 of the best starter bikes you can get. Its nimble, small, light compared to other bikes powerwise but still has enough power and torque to make it fun. I drove a monster for 2 years when i turned 18 and i now own a gsxr 750. The monster will give you lots of experience, that you will need for driving heavier bikes. Grtz
I sat on both the hypermotard and the monster. I would get the monster because its cheaper and has less cc. I am 6'6'' and dont mind the monster but i rather have the hypermotard because of my height. plus i am a beginner, what do you think about me gettiing a sv650r or sv650?
I just got the 696 a week ago. I'm 6'6" and it's quite comfortable. The bike is very, very easy to ride. If you're an beginner and not afraid to invest that 8k euros (that's how much it is in France) go for it.
If you'd like to have something cheaper for starters, you can check the SV or Bandit. That's what I considered for starters. Hypermotard is a very bad idea for beginner. Too powerful and too dangerous.
Is the 696 as easy to ride engine wise in very low rpm (idle?) and low speeds as its claimed and seem here? Its a candidate replacer of my old jap 4in-liner, but its impossible to find one to test drive where i live. I drove an S2R 800 once and it was not fit for the daily traffic jam commuter role to my taste at least. And since i can only afford one motorcycle, and since daily commuting through jamed urban streets will be a major part of its usage, that aspect weighs in my choice.
I'm saving for such a monster! i'm going on my first lesson in august and hope to buy this ducati as soon as i have my license. Wish you many SAVE miles and best of luck with your buy!
first timer using a 696?? wow wish my first time was with such a hot one! LOL mine was a very kind and fun Honda NX-5 (poor sibling of the great AX-1) 250cc :P
En Schwizer...hmmm wo isch da? han doch no lang brucht zum schnalle dases schwizerdütsch isch :D hehe. Was isch das für en Kurs? Da macht mer doch ned eso.. naja...^^ schöne töff, aber titel isch falsch :D zuesätzlech s'erscht mal ufmenä töff.

He looks like he's not that large in stature, how big are these bikes? I'm 6'7" so I'm just curious as to their size. No offense intended.

@jayasenan Nah the average in this country's gotta run around 6' I'd say. I'm roughly "a head" taller than everyone else.
