  • years beyond its time.

  • Now this is vintage el-p. One of the dopest tracks I've ever heard. Now i gotta go find this album and buy it.

  • @hotsupa vintage? it's only 4 years old lol he hasn't put out an album since this besides megamixx3

  • then end of this song makes me cum..

  • Def jux wouldnt get ripped for collaborating with anyone . How do you rip perfection ?

  • I always show this to people at school and have them guess their nationality, and they're always suprised when I tell them they're white

  • "NOW IS THE FUCKING TIIIIIIME!!!"

  • Dear Young People: This is TRUE HIP-HOP. Listen and use it as a template to advance the music.

  • When that horn sounds came in at 2:20 I just fucking lost it... wow

  • NANANANANANANA NANANANANANANA NANANANANANANANANANANANANANANA

    FIND THOSE DETONATORS!

  • idk lupe isn't necessarily one of my favorites but i respect him about a bazillion more times than lil wayne, soulja boi, eminem, or any of that other mainsteam crap.

  • this whole album is un-fucking-beatable.

  • "Sittin' on the front line, you can hear the soldiers singin'..."

  • If El-P worked with Soulja Boy, and the result came out dope, I'd listen.

  • @dixonyass

    why?

  • @dixonyass lol soulja boy?

  • @dixonyass If El-P came out with some dope shit with soulja boy, I'd kidnap that lil nigga and hold 'em for ransom til they brought the real El-P back

  • this track is SICK!!

  • The break at the end of this song is so awesome it's ridiculous. If the party tells me five fingers, then five is what I'll say.

  • @SUSONEgcc

hell yeah, the end tune is freaking sick ! It should have been a separate song, it's a waste of a great tune now :(

  • transcendance.

  • @ garfus2 -

it was called "hideyaface," and it was a remix of a prefuse 73 song. i think it was on a prefuse 73 album

  • BULL FUCKING SHIT THAT EL-P HAS A TRACK WITH GHOSTFACE. show me tha money "raist".

  • ghostface and El-P would be dope

  • @WillMillion15

    Been Done.

  • @WillMillion15 search for "Hideyaface".

  • @Beggsi isnt that the joint he did with Ghost? on Prefuse's shit? Aes had a song on that album to that was dope

  • if you weren't a fucking retard you wouldn't confuse the "rap" with hip hop.

this is real, in a strange way souljah boy was too until his collabo with little doggie (sorry don't forget his actual name, the kid who was snoop dogg's nephew or some ish). good luck with with overstanding the "intellectual" trope non-real deep headz. down at the labour camps they make us motor men mama's boy once but i learn to speak draconian (hth)

  • I found a cure for cancer but it wasn't radio friendly

  • EL-P is out of his mind enough to throw Soulja Boy somewhere in the background of a song just to spite people.

  • And most cats probably don't realize El has a track with Ghostface, and when ask who he wanted to collab with most he said Mary J. Blige.

  • 1:59 is so fucking good. I can't believe it.

  • ah man I've been looking for this for so long.

  • okay,

    lets see,

we shouldnt all bash the guy,he just wanted to see someting amazing in his eyes happen,

its natural, he probably dosent understand ettiquette when in the prescance of true dope,

so like it shouldnt be a bash fest, yea yea i know,

    Souljah Boi> EL-P

but lets all be rational here(if that equation is wrong its in accident!)

  • Hahaha, it's wrong mate. It says SB is greater than El-P!

  • fuk solja toy hes a fuckin idiot

  • having soulja boi on a def jux track would be like a britney spears and ozzy osbourne singing a duet.

    it'd just be fucking wrong.

  • Alright, what people are saying is that EL-P should work with Lupe, not that Lupe is on this track. And yes, that would be fuckin amazing

And for the guy who said that EL-P should work with Soulja Boi... dude... just leave. ANY Def Jux member working with someone like Soulja Boi would have his underground rep trashed overnight. Anyway... Soulja Boi should be executed for what he's helped do to the music scene... along with Flo Rida and Lil' Wayne... kill 'em all.

  • very well said. fuck soulja faggot. mainstream media has given the wrong impression on what hip-hop is

  • Firstly, given my age & experience i've probably been listening to this cat longer than you've been listening to hip hop.

    "...just leave."---Yeah,ok.

Secondly, sometimes i'm astonished at some of El's fan, considering some of you cats obviously can't read & effectively interpet a pretty basic premise. The whole little discussion was simply about likely pairings vs. unlikely pairings. The Soulja Boy allusion was an obvious statement about El's abilities in the studio;not who he 'should' fuck with.

  • Alright, i get it now, you don't have to leave man, haha! Yeah.. i suppose EL-P COULD pull of something with Soulja Boy, but EL would be definitely providing all of the talent. I pray to god it never happens though, Soulja is a talentless hack

  • Agreed.

  • truest words ive ever heard

  • @genericnameboi91 i like you:)

  • @genericnameboi91 woooooooooooord!!!!!! Project Blowed Style :DDD

    KILLém ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @genericnameboi91

Fagbot... No one in Def jux would even agree with you.

  • @genericnameboi91

saying that, El-P DID sign British artist Dizzee Rascal, who is retarded and only slightly lyrically better than someone like Soulja Boi.

  • @genericnameboi91 is it really about repuations though?

cause i mean if it sounded good, i think i'd listen no matter who's on the track..

    yeah.

  • @trefliproductions Alright, this i do agree with, i posted that a year ago and I wasn't as forgiving, prolly because i wanted to establish my appreciation to the counter-culture of underground hip-hop. One thing that still bugs me though, is that there are rappers out there that don't reach for anything beyond the whole bank rolls, bitches and hoes mentality until someone who exercise more exertion in their songwriting. Great example, Shine Blockas. A song by Big Boi with Gucci Mane..

  • @trefliproductions on Big Boi's newest album Sir Lucious Foot, the Son of Chico Dusty. Your point is definitely proven here: it's a great song, and Gucci sounded like he actually worked at it. My frustration comes in when Gucci can actually crank out a good song with Big Boi, but if you listen to his other mainstream stuff it's pitiful, his lyrics are shallow and and his songs just wreak of somebody trying to sell out. I do agree with you, but it's a little frustrating watching wasted talent.

  • @genericnameboi91 .. lol that's funny because your talking shit on bad rappers but then saying Lupe Fiasco is good.. check ur music

  • @alienultra lol. truth

  • @alienultra What's wrong with Lupe bro?

  • @genericnameboi91 his music smells of trash and fossilized eggs

  • @alienultra Cmon man, there has to be better reasoning than that, lol. I mean, i do hate that he pretty much worships Kanye West, but otherwise i think his lyrics are solid and his beats are great! Is there more to it, or is he just an artist you can't get into?

  • @genericnameboi91 ok.. honestly i never listened to him before.. i just did some research and have come back to say he is complete garbage.. totally deserves to be on the radio.. this is an El-p video.. I don't know how Lupe even compares.. but I'm into underground meaningful hip hop.. not radio played out crap .. once again and for a final time Lupe smells of brainwashed youth

  • @alienultra That makes sense, i can say i've done the same for quite a few artists myself. After listening to a good deal of his work, I can honestly say there are a few songs that can (and in "Kick, Push's" case have been) on the radio. Also, i really have no idea where Lupe came in on this video, i think some kid mentioned how a collab between him and EL-P would be cool, or something. They also aren't in the same league, EL-P is experimental, and Lupe's traditional.

  • @alienultra If you ever did want to check out Lupe stuff that wouldn't be on the radio, I'd check his mix tapes: The Truth is Among Us, Revenge of the Nerds, and A Rhyming Ape. But hell, like I said, EL-P's experimental and Lupe's traditional. For all I know, you may only be into the experimental type music, but if you were ever curious, there ya go.

  • @alienultra smh homie, people like you are why the community sees backpackers as the new hipster. Radio =/= Shitty Artist, and if you can't understand that, just don't comment on the situation.

  • @YawningGlory backpackers as hipsters? wtf are u talking about.. music on the radio is garbage.. get over it and listen to more el-p

  • @alienultra You make it seem like you can only listen to one thing or the other. There's no rule that says you -have- to pick a side in Hip-Hop. Honestly, if you only limit yourself to artists like that, you're missing out. I'm not even gonna speak on it anymore like that, ain't enough heads in the underground movement these days to start internet arguing over shit.

  • @alienultra been listening to underground for over a decade. you're a fucking idiot if you think lupe is garbage. dont pull out his "hit radio songs" because of course they are shit. listen to "gotta eat" and see if you can tell me the meaning

  • @transversalpsyc thanks for tricking me into listening to the worst song I've heard in months..

  • @alienultra just another fag that only cares about the beat. if you think the song is about food then your a fucking idiot

  • @transversalpsyc yo.. i don't like the beat.. I don't like the lyrics.. I have a specific taste in hip hop and we obviously don't agree.. I respect the right of people to like shitty music.. so go right ahead.. just leave me out of it.. Next time I hear something terrible I won't try and warn you because obviously you like it

  • @alienultra i hate the beat on that song too, its annoying. the lyrics are very clever you probably just don't understand the metaphor. i just got offended at your ignorance saying he is "garbage" just by listening to a few of his worst songs. don't have such a negative mentality towards foreign music

  • @genericnameboi91 Ha. A fan of conscious rap promoting the murder of people he doesn't know. Oh the irony.

  • 9/11 truth baby. You tell me how 3 steel structures collapsed at nearly free fall speed from 3 different impacts, and Ill tell you to... (FIND THOSE DETONATORS)

  • jizzed myself.

  • 3:08 on is fucking awesome.

  • I love the Fox news samples.Amazing beat just amazing track and album. Its EL-P and Aesop Rock of course its dope.

  • Youtube quality is FAIL!

  • Aesop Rock's got an unorthodox style anyway and this is an unorthodox beat (remember when everything didn't sound the same and everyone had their own unique sound?). As far as I can tell he flows perfectly on it and it sounds like he's really getting into it. That's just my opinion, though.

  • The beat is incredible and both El-P and Aesop Rock on the track, it almost can't get better.

  • i know right imagin if they had mos def or lupe fiasco or both track would be godly

  • Lupe Fiasco with El-P?

    Wow!!lol

  • you dont like lupe ?

  • Not in partcular, but even if I did,he and El-p still have radically different sounds,as far as I can tell.

  • yeah but not really i can picture them on a track togetha

  • Hell,I could picture El-p workin' with Soulja Boy(and believe me,that cat could pull it off),but that's not to say that it would be a logical pairing.

Genuinely inventive cats could make any situation work.

  • yeah i feel you but when i listen to songs like twilight and pens and needles from lupe you can see where im coming from

  • Aes and El-P??...nice

  • O.o DeX wUz Here%

  • IDST?

  • one of my favorite songs right now

  • "I've got a cure for cancer/But it wasn't radio friendly."

    Thanks for the post.

    learn to listen fagget!!

  • wtf you arent serious are you? aesop is pure crack

  • Aes is dope, but on this song I'm not sure he had the right sound.

  • DAMN!!!!! I can't put into words how dope and ILLLLLLLL this track is. This shyt trancends space and time...and provokes endless possiblites in my brain.

  • Aes and El-P kill this one. Great fucking beat.

  • sounds so mutch better when u get the 12 inch.ill track
