  • My age is 12, am i alone???

  • I though it was Depeche Mode when this first came out in the 80s....

  • @confessedgal me too, though now recalling the song and the voice of the singer :-)

  • remember those days . i only could record this song from the radio , cause i had no money and you couldt find this record where i lived back then ,

  • new wave is the best

  • Holy shit! MAJOR flashback

  • okejooooooooooooooossssssssssss

  • this is music.

  • hum

  • es una verdadera joya este tamazo, a disfrutarlo .

  • long time i haven't seem camouflage, i can't believe 10 people don't like this song.. I love this song.. it does hurt anybody

  • I've just listened to this song for the first time yesterday, at my bff's dinner party...so this is what is called meaningful music u.u

  • Actually this song is under the definition of Industrial. But so is some Frank Zappa. Industrial was a movement most of you are to young for. And this song was actually one of the first 80's Industrial songs. Of course most of you have never heard of Nitzer Eb or Front 242.

  • @Jolefay Oh, I remember Front 242...Hit the Club alot back then

  • @Jolefay Idk, I wouldn't really classify this as Industrial. I am 43 and went through the whole new wave New romantic, Industrial and grunge movements. ALL my old school friends allways compared these guys to a wanna be Depeche Mode. That said, I did like their music. Yes, I went to Front 242, Front Line Assembly, KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, Pigface, Ministry, Revolting Cocks, My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult etc... THOSE were industrial !! Sorry , just giving you my take.

  • @Jolefay This song is the debut single from German synthpop/new wave band named Camouflage. This song is a German synthpop song. Industrial songs of the 80's were more aggressive, confrontational, and angry.

  • this is not industrial at all. it's Synthpop or maybe light EBM. Colony 5 is also Synthpop or Futurepop, not industrial.

  • Sounds like Dave Gahon

  • listen to SLOW CHILDREN - SPRING IN FIALTA 1981

  • listen to the DAMNED- ALONE AGAIN OR 1986

  • also EARLY 80'S NEW WAVE - LENE LOVITCH, SLOW CHILDREN, ALTERED IMAGES, peter godwin, kroq

  • @kojakbangbang7 GO GOS, BILLY IDOL. case closed

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Your music history is a bit off. But that's what you get for being a modern music network, eh? Historical records don't stick in.

To be honest. Why would Depeche Mode parties at industrial clubs. be held every weekend in Germany. And why would this song be covered exclusively by industrial bands, such as And One.

If you want to argue music genres you're going to lose an argument.

So are you saying the band COIL is a techno act? Techno's not a real genre. It's a category.

  • @TheLynxie you're a fucking idiot that lacks neurons. You're 21 and from canada.

You gen-Y retards don't get that we didn't call this shit industrial or even ebm back then. That was exclusively for acts like front 242 or more noisey artists. Depeche mode was always called a synth and techno act. Even early on. New Order, Dm, MWH, Berlin, etc

I actually lived my life seeing these bands back in the late 80s and saw DM at the rose bowl in pasadena. Got to see all the old kroq djs too.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork My music history is dead on correct. I still have all of my old kroq tapes with them being interviewed talking about techno and synth music. Even in the late 80s they used this term. Never industrial. that was for acts like ministry and to a lesser extent front 242, skinny puppy and front line assembly(all great acts as well btw).

  • @TheLynxie the problem is that the loser generation aka Y-generation started to coop and tried to take over the synth-pop, club movement of the 80s sound around 96 or so. You losers ruined it and put out a bunch of shitty goth trance fuckcrap that no one gave a flying fuck about.

Camouflage, DM, information society were all synth-pop and techno acts that were mega successful and popular on video shows like night tracks, mtv, etc. back in the late 80s and played on fm radio back then.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork So don't come in here and say that they were your lame as fuck emo-trance industrial scene because they weren't.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Uhm. Seems like you don't even know what industrial music even is. So I'll let you bother other people.

Can't tell if stupid, or really bad troll.

  • @TheLynxie <-------INANE IDIOT who lacks the proper mental acuity to comprehend.

You clearly lack neurons stupid cunt rag.

Let me know when Dm and Camoflage sound like skinny puppy, Kook.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Uhm..... What? Skinny Puppy -IS- Industrial, yes. However, Industrial is not what you think it is, obviously.

First off: There is songs that they made that sound like this, herp.

And One, go. That's industrial, sounds like this.

Colony 5, go. That's industrial, a more modern version of this genre.

Look. If you really think this is techno, you can believe that lie, but smart people will know it's not. I SHUN THEE IDIOTIC HIPSTER!

  • Hehehe, people thinking that industrial EBM is pop-dance. It amuses me.

  • @TheLynxie well this aint ebm. It's 80s techno beats and synth like depeche mode.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Funny. Camoflage is, or was an industrial group. And if you say, like Depeche Mode. I'll let you in on a secret. Depeche Mode is a EBM/synth-pop industrial band.

  • @TheLynxie no they weren't. not even close. They were an 80s synth pop band who delved into techno. just like the other stuff on their early records.

Depeche mode aint ebm or industrial(tg, cab voltaire). they were always synth pop and techno act.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork nitzer ebb went into industrial music a bit, as did ministry, front 242, etc but not completely.

  • the song sounds like its describing communism or hitler or some tyranical despot. great 80's rock n dance tune.

  • LISTEN to wire - ahead 1987

  • @kojakbangbang7 listen to any kroq band back in the late 80s

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork the ocean blue, voice of the beehive, campervan beethoven, mighty lemon drops, was not was, robyn hitchcock and the eygtians, lightning seeds, world party, killing joke, the colourfield, the alarm, ride, tears for fears, love and rockets, 10 000 maniacs, peter murphy, PIL, REM, OMD,cetu javu-stiutations, enya-orinoco flow , the church-metropolis, etc many more

  • @kojakbangbang7 lol yep. all stuff i like

  • listen to 808 state- LIFT 1991

  • listen to PETER GODWIN - baby's in the mountain

  • Comment removed

  • JASON BOURNE TRAILER.. Matt Damon on vocals ha ha ha

  • This was for many people the best Depeche song at that time. Seriously, they´d go, "play that DM tune" and they meant this track. As a big DM fan I never understood why would DM fans want to listen to Camouflage when they could buy a, I don´t know, Pixies album..

  • @jakubpetricek because the pixies were fucking boring and mainly mellow indy rock piss at the time. and this was BIG sounding just like info soceity's pure energy of when in rome's promise.

  • Awesome!

  • So awesome

  • my great song on the 80's.I love it :)

  • what is it? new wave? synth-pop? :) how to call it?

  • @MrCreepyCreature A crossover between New Order and Depeche Mode with a hint of Fake ;)

  • @heinza1983 What do you mean "with a hint of Fake"?

  • @Supersweetguy youtube.com/watch?v=NSOwvvMu3EQ

  • Wow, great song!! He has a very sexy voice too :)

  • In English, this song doesn't make too much sense, but it's still great. SCO LARRSSS!

  • great great song!!!! and love is a shield too

  • my FB's profile picture was from this video... even im a teen ager. lol

add me on fb ''drones necrophilia''

  • Perfect song.

  • The old... new wave.... love

  • Never heard of this song till a few days ago, and I found the 12 inch single in a local Charity shop for 10p.

  • @upfrontbear74 10p???? As in ten pence???? I'm from the the states, but I know a bargain when I see one :) . Pretty much all my local record shops are gone :/

  • lol!!..Matt Damon.. :p

  • Is he Matt Damon?

  • super song!super group

  • HEY MATT DAMON, STOP ACTING AND COME BACK TO CAMOUFLAGE

  • @najx Thanks. That was funny about Matt Damon coming back to Camouflage.

  • @najx matt damon ist german haha

  • @najx haha matt damon can't hold a candle to these guys

  • HEY MATT DAMON, STOP ACTING AND COME BACK TO CAMOUFLAGE !!!!!

  • I've been looking for this song for years :)

Today I woke up and realized that this is performed by same band which perform Love is a shield :))

  • I thought that this song was recording by Depeche mode :P

  • Main guy looks like Matt Damon. Good sound to this song.

  • Definitely my all time favourite Camouflage song :)

  • @gfru Weell... is there any other Camouflage song ? ;) ....jokin luv the song...even bought the tape.....:)

  • This might just be the best synthpop tune - ever... Absolutely timeless.

  • classic in radios.

  • I love this song. Can't stop listening to it.

  • @neuralburn: LOL Did the eggs have faces and limbs? Were they frightening? Maybe that's what they needed was to incorporate some sort of scary Humpty Dumpty-type imagery into this and it would have made more sense to me. ;-)

  • THIS SONG IS STILL TRUE. MISS THESE CLASSIC SONGS <3

  • These lyrics make absolutely no sense in English. A catchy tune, a lavish video, hot boys singing, but quite embaaaahrrassing to listen to it, really. In the same way that some people in Japan buy T-shirts with nonsensical inscriptions in English, this song always made me wonder whether someone in Camouflage may have thought they were better at speaking English than they actually were. Had they bothered to spend a few pfennigs on a proper translation or rewrite, this would've been far bigger.

  • @dpjaexp I agree, but in the same way, Front 242's Headhunter video became a masterpiece because someone thought they said 'egg hunter' and had imagery involving eggs lol.

  • @dpjaexp Not to argue, but why try analyze the video? I just watch, and listen to the music video.

  • @Supersweetguy I'm not analyzing the video. I'm simply expressing my own frustration and disappointment in the fact that here we have beautifully-composed music, a superb video, and incomprehensible lyrics. Free expression, right?

  • @dpjaexp I see what you mean. However, in my opinion there really isn't much sense to Rammstein lyrics either but I honestly don't care. As long as I can lose myself in the music the lyrics aren't that important to me.

  • Mario das ist deine song und darum ich mag das auch :)

  • Cute little girl.......

  • Simply classic.

  • Hey assholes, will you stop the comments about Depeche Mode, 80's, etchetera...Anyone has paid attention to the lyrics? Realize what they say? Wake the fuck up...

  • @sakis543 The Great Commandment is a popular and well-loved piece - that cannot be denied. It is beautiful, and well-composed. But the meaning of this song is totally impossible for speakers of English to grasp without its accompanying video, which is dark and frightening. Had Camouflage better edited The Great Commandment, I've no doubt that it would have become an anthem against oppression. It is the video producer's hard work and the music which saved this song's arse - not the lyrics.

  • @dpjaexp Sorry that it took me so long to reply...I totally respect your point of view.BUT...Pay attention to the lyrics and view the maryonette that is talking to the kids. You have to realize what is going on...History is being re-written every day. The kids are us...And the maryonette is John Major, Barak Obama, Pope, Nichola Sarkozy etc.Just pick one. It's all the same...We are being brainwashed everyday from these people...And we look them in the eyes, just like the kids do on the video...

Dompropaganda

  • Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Camouflage- my 3 favourite synth bands. Thumbs up, if you think so!

  • @ReddoFarukon Depeche Mode, Wolfsheim, Kraftwerk- Wolfsheim is way better than Camouflage. Beborn Beton and New Order as well. This is a great song though.

  • GOOD TIMES....FANTASTIC...

  • in the USA, both political parties are moments away from this happening: may death come swiftly to both....

  • I always wondered if this song's lyrics were written in english, or written in german and then translated

  • hahahah Why does EVEROBODY think this is Depeche Mode?!?!!

AWESOME song, and it's by CAMOUFLAGE ;)

  • That's....that's...that's.....something INCREDIBLY AMAZING!!!! I'm 20 and I think 80s' were the best music years EVER. WOW! I've just heard it on Antenne Bayern (German radio) when I woke up today :-)

  • Some people supress you they partch you and reap a disaster. Reeducation For the enfants who demanded for an innocent instance. The great commandment shows the contempt Between the world and their embarrasing pavement. Believe the scholars read the readings Realize the man who says anything. The great commandment - The needies believe you they treat you like survivor disaster. Reeducation for the enfants who demanded for an innocent instance. The great commandment shows the contempt . . .

  • 1:58 " Ah you want the ball? I will give you the ball!" Nice song

  • Comment removed

  • meine jugend :) *freu*

  • It's a great song, indeed! But I've always wondered, and I hope I can get a response here - in the lyrics, why does it say (and is sang as) "shows the contempt between the world and THEIR embarrassing pavements", shouldn't the correct word be "ITS"?

Is it just bad English grammar or purposely done?

  • @Letter66666 A lot of their songs have some questionable english. Its much better now but just listen to the second verse "Like survivor disaster". Still an awesome band!

  • The first time I heard this on MTV when it first came out, I swore it was Depeche Mode and I was a die-hard DM fan. I thought Dave had Laryngitis or something. lmao

  • @carlmc1971

    GOOD ONE LOL

  • Why yes, it DOES sound like Depeche Mode.
