  • who was filming upward from the surface ?

  • dis iz stupid and feke coz a parachut wounldent work on mars coz there iz no oxoygen. im relly smart so i wud no.

  • I laughed when the parachute covered the lander!

  • cool

  • lol you do know this is a insurance company commercial right?

"Even apeldoorn bellen" is a dutch slogan for the dutch insurance company "Centraal beheer Achmea". The company was previously named "Apeldoorn", refering to the city it's located in. "Even apeldoorn bellen" is said when something goes wrong and you just call the insurance agency and they'll fix it in no-time.

  • goal!!!!

  • If the world had internet in 1960, i know for a fact that many of the NASA videos and such would have 10s of millions of views at least. But no the government cares more about bombing arabic villages and killing arabs for an event that happened 8 years ago!?!?!? Get over it Im sorry people died but its impossible to destroy terrorism, it has always been there and always will be. So stop spending money on nuclear bombs god damn russia and USA and spend money on ur space programs! same wit u china

  • @manmythlegend12

Why spending money on space programs, if we cant even cure cancer yet. We gotta fix the problems on earth first before we go mess around somewhere else.

  • because cancer is just cells growing at an abnormal rate. There is no cure for cancer. I have cancerous cells that may develop into cancer yet I don't have it. We can find better treatments but we will never cure it. What happens in 100 years if we get hit by a meteoroid or have a nuclear war. Then people would say "oh maybe we should've tried getting people to live on different planets/space so we don't become extinct. There will always be disease/poverty/problems no matter how much u spend...

  • fcs - there will always be problems on Earth. Stop being so narrow-minded and have some imagination.

  • Dude i like your enthusiam and iv great news!!! Actually the goverment cares more about the space program than you think... Why? Because it's a lie and like a farce!! And they don't want you to know the truth!!! "dark mission" Robert Hoagland, check it out!!! Peace

  • word.

  • @manmythlegend12 your right

  • @manmythlegend12 lol idiot.

Obama recently even RAISED the funds for nasa.nasa has more money than the military, the government has enough money to fund both killing and exploring space

  • I dont understand anymore. 32,000 views...this is one of the biggest accomplishments of mankind. I can type in taylor swift and get about 60 million views probably more. Why have people lost the will to explore. Its impossible 2 ever achieve space goals when people dont even care. Were care more about "BRITNEY GETS PLASTIC SURGERY!" "JOHN TRAVOLTA IS GAY!" "MJ DIVORCES WIFE!" fucking wake up people.

  • Sadly the way humankind is going, a HUMAN landing on Mars would probably yield less views than the latest Hollywood scandal. I'd have to apologize first up if I met up with any extra-terrestrials.

We are so consumed about microcosms, whether it's wars, or the economy that no-one rarely thinks of anything at a larger scale. In the end, even if we did survive against all mathematical odds of not being hit by a meteor, we'd never have the technology to colonize outside this solar system.

  • LOL, I didn't expect the ending to this video. Funneeeeey

  • this IS gong to happen because it happend 1 month a go

  • And you're American so you need no help help in that department.

  • I'm a very well-educated atheist.

    So I think not.

  • Well educated but stupid anyway.

  • You say stupid, but all you have is your assertion.

You have nothing to back it up.

    Anyone can make assertions.

  • There's a crowing censuses of scientists that think as me, Bubba. Plants will thrive but higher life forms will struggle as their habitats are lost to rising seas. Tell me, what evidence to you have to refute this reality? send me the URL, I'll take a look.

  • meant to say 'growing consensus' by the way

  • I never refuted that.

The assertion was that the planet will die.

    I just said it won't.

  • Yes, and you're right about that. Only when the sun expands and swallows the earth up will all life be extinguished. It's just that you seem to think that knowledge is more important than all the problems we face on this Earth. What will mars tell us that we don't already know?

  • Uh, knowledge solves problems, Einstein.

Mars will tell us more about the Universe we live in, specifically our solar system to start, and then more from there. Use your head, man.

  • The Universe we live in will be there once we solve the problems on this planet. Knowledge causes more problems than they solve. All that money and it will be just more words in a text book. It's just Americans showing off, is all, and you know it.

  • lol that was funny :D

  • Hehehe! Deze had ik nog niet gezien.

  • go suck a cock mate....

  • retard!

  • global warming will cause water levels to rise etc...melting of the ice caps cant be good? already animals like polar bears are being put in danger of extinction because of this...maybe volcanoes etc are a big cause of carbon emission, but industry and mass transportation are only adding to that, its a proven fact we are causing huge problems...which in the long run, just aint sustainable

  • john, ok, again, how is global warming affecting the destruction of our planet?

You said that the planet is being destroyed... yet you have not shown anything to that effect.

If you can't discuss the issue, stop trying.

  • we are destroying this planet, in a habitable sense...a dead planet is one that life does not exist on, thats what im referring to...obviously the planet is not going to disappear...your a fooking moron, you think we are doing no damage to this planet, well i must say, YOUR DELUDED!

  • john, habitable sense.. oh, so now you change it. You mean, we are contributing to the planet's inability to sustain us? I see. Makes a bit more sense now. However, I still contend to you that we aren't doing most of the work. There is no such thing as a "dead or alive" planet. You're an idiot.

  • your the idiot...the facts are there for all to see, we are destroying this planet, the rate at which global warming is increasing, is at a rate that the earth aint seen before...scientists have proven this...my argument is that this just isnt sustainable, and without doubt, in 200 years the earth AS WE KNOW IT TODAY will cease to exist (that doesnt mean im saying the earth wont be here)

  • john, just because global warming is increasing doesn't mean we are having the most effect on that. Much of the effect comes from gases in Earth's only crust that leak out (like volcanoes). You really need to stop believing in the hype. Again, you're wrong, the Earth will continue to exist well after 200 years. You have issues.

  • The punch line means: don't worry, just call you're assurance company (Apeldoorn).

  • Great. :D

  • Very funny! You even got linked by the MarsPhoenix's Twitter page...

  • Very funny video!! Well done.

Punch line: Just call us (the assurance company).

  • What is the last comment say ... the punch line dam it :-)

  • 2004, our planet is far from dying you idiot. Our planet is very, very well off. We are a but a pin-prick to our planet's health. It will keep existing WELL after we die out. OUR technology landed, so WE landed. You are an idiot.

  • NASA Already thought of the parachute dilemma as they should have.

" If the wind is strong, the parachute will blow away on its own. If the wind is weak, the lander will use its thrusters after separating from the parachute to push itself upwind, away from the falling parachute. "

  • Obvious Guy says, "Ohhhhhh... it's meant to be a funny joke! I get it! Like spending all that money and effort to get there and the parachute falls on it! HAHAHA! Clever! Because that didn't really happen!"

  • This is fake because the pheonix even took pictures. This is an ad, come on.

  • Dude, the lander did land.. it's an artist representation of what really happened.

  • oh yeah, the race rides are not pretty.

  • hehe mooi dit!

  • its strange that we are exploring mars, and yet we havent fully explored our planet. just today i saw a story on an uncontacted remote tribe. they were pointing their bows and spears at the chopper taking photos of them. crazy huh

  • Why? No one ever said we had to 'clean our plate before we could go outside'. This is a false choice. We can do both. The story you refer to shows that we are (although the Brazilian thing was more about stopping our encroachment on these tribes).

  • i never said we had to choose. i think we should do both. i just think its ironic that we are going to other worlds to look for new phenonmenon, possibly life, and its popping up right here. i mean we discover new species all the time. its pretty cool how we can, but dont actually have to go all the way to mars to discover new things.

  • Lol! ^_^

  • Vette Shit! weer leuk bedacht, en nog actueel ook!

  • word er blij van.

  • worth watching

  • wahahaa

  • whehehe.

  • haha, gelukkig niet zeg
