@DecreeB I think I understand your question: The way to do this is to use a Finite State Machine in your code. This enables you to test for what state the player is in. States include Jumping Up / Falling / Walking / etc. In this instance you are describing, the player state will be Jumping Up when it goes through the platform, and the state will be Falling when testing to land on the platform. Hope that makes sense?
@nupferl It's just my own engine that I've been coding in Lingo (similar to JavaScript) it's not finished, but I have added a few more features such as very simple physics and parallax scrolling. I'll put out some more vids soon, plus some playable demos for people to play with :)
I've fallen in love with this thing man, its just pure aweseomness. Hand drawn isnt somthing u see everyday.
Could i ask for some assistance from u?im doing a fully hand drawn game, EVERYTHINg is hand drawn then colored in photoshop, and im kinda new to how everything works. The other guys ar busy figuring out the engine, so that gives me some time. If u find the time that is,beats reading all the tutorials, and ive read like....200...:P
How do you make it go up through the ground, but when it falls down it lands and stays on the ground. Example: 0:43
