I agree with you 100%. I said much the same thing on here over a year ago. What remains a mystery to me is that this brilliant piece of music has never appeared on a Greatest Hits / compilation album. A serious oversight IMHO. Credit to the underrated Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon who produce some brlliant keyboard / guitar solos. A masterpiece of musicianship. Mr Perry is at his sublime best, which goes without saying.
Steve left the band because the other members(Ros Vallory,Steve "Machine Gun" Smith and Neil Schon could not get along with him and did make him feel like part of the band. This is GOSPEL as it is DIRECTLY from Steve Perry(Best male rock vocal voice ever) to ME. He went back to his dads chicken farm. One of the saddest losses in R&R band history.

I endorse what jaredr88 and lyablonski have said with regard to the dual vocalists. If I could go back in time I would love to see Journey live circa 1978/79.
I feel that Gregg Rolie tends to get overlooked and is a very underrated musician. In my opinion "Winds of March" is a masterpiece simply because each member of the group is at the top of their game. I love the tempo changes in this song, and the keyboard and guitar solos are perfection.

Thanks to Neal for choosing and believing Arnel. Neal is so proud of Arnel and his versatality.

What remains a mystery to me is that this brilliant piece of music has never appeared on a Greatest Hits / compilation album. A serious oversight IMHO. Credit to the underrated Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon who produce some brlliant keyboard / guitar solos. A masterpiece of musicianship. Mr Perry is at his sublime best, which goes without saying.

Steve left the band because the other members(Ros Vallory,Steve "Machine Gun" Smith and Neil Schon could not get along with him and did make him feel like part of the band. This is GOSPEL as it is DIRECTLY from Steve Perry(Best male rock vocal voice ever) to ME. He went back to his dads chicken farm. One of the saddest losses in R&R band history.

Had it on my playlist & when i went to go hear my daily dose of Winds of March/Opened the Door, YouTube said they were no longer available. I panicked! This song is sooo beautiful, makes me feel all warm inside! Been listening to Journey since the mid/late 70's. Hell, i had the 8 track(remember those) of Infinity! He did a Canadian radio interview July 20, 2009 (by phone, he was in CA) about "Don't Stop Believin" never being intended as a hit single from "Escape" album, but it's been used EVERYWHERE! (After final episode of "The Sopranos" sales of the song soared 487% in one day---a 28 yr. old song!) You should hear Steve laugh, I LOVE it!! I have the interview on Podcast, the radio show was Q on CBC.

I endorse what jaredr88 and lyablonski have said with regard to the dual vocalists. If I could go back in time I would love to see Journey live circa 1978/79.
I feel that Gregg Rolie tends to get overlooked and is a very underrated musician. In my opinion "Winds of March" is a masterpiece simply because each member of the group is at the top of their game. I love the tempo changes in this song, and the keyboard and guitar solos are perfection.
