  • Morrison, Ah pure loove yer books. An' yer Scottish accent is quite sexy but it takes some magic tae deal wi' it!

  • Aye cun burly onderstond im

  • looks like a young hunter s thompson

  • Oh look! It's Professor X! XD

  • Awesome i have a brilliant story line, i wonder how i could get in touch with this fellow scot!!

  • YT'S TAJM.

  • THE BAD GUY IN MY CHEM!

  • god i hate this asshole changing too many things

paul dini still the best batman writer

    screw morrison

  • @DennisBentulann Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait... Changing too many things? He's the guy that has made everything canon again.

  • The thing i like about Morrison, besides his great stories/writing, is that he is so passionate about comics. When he is talking about how he is fortunate to be a little part of Superman's life- that's great. He immerses himself into the universe that he is writing about. I also love his full run on Batman. I know not most people agree with this. I think some people just don't like to take their time to actually read the comic and understand the comic, and so they say that "they don't like it".

  • @brb2323 Yeah, he is one of my personal favorites. Being passionate about comics when you work in comics is important.

  • Wow he's clean looking right now in this vid, but when he goes home he's gonna smoke some crak

  • @whosdad ???

  • @brb2323 What do you mean ?

  • WAIT. He was STRAIGHT EDGE?!

  • Yeah. You dont have to take drugs to have alternate states of mind. I think western culture fears madness such as the idea of "mental illness." It wouldnt be unlikeley in another instance a psyhiatrist would jus tinstitutionalize Grant for being a genius and say hes schizophrenic or some crap.

  • @newmoongathering I agree.

  • yes, until he startet writing "the invisibles".

  • Not surprising; I mean, when was the last time you saw Seth Rogen lookin' that sharp?

  • He WOULD make a good Lex Luthor, except you would have to explain why Lex Speaks in a rather distinct Glaswegian accent.

  • I majored in English in my home country, but ScotE is still hard to understand. However, I love GM's works :)

  • holy shit im from scotland

  • One problem is the sound is very low Q. No lavs or shotgun mic available, apparently.

And to understand a Scottish accent, simply watch Trainspotting. It really helps.

  • Being Scottish i was actually considering 'translating' this for the wankers underneath who cant understand English. But after only 20 seconds i realised there just being wankers cos if they cant understand him well they cant understand english.

I can understand 'American' accents so just use some fucking effrt.............................

  • i'm from germany, i learned english by myself and i understand morrison just fine. same with the different american accents.

the sound really is bad on this video.

  • Why did he have to kill batman? Why!?

  • Probably because DC Editorial told him to.

  • I love Grant Morrison. He's so weird, he's awesome. I heard back in the day his website had him and his wife modeling underwear. I hope that's true! :P

  • This man can talk the most bollocks I have ever heard but he can write a good comic n ow and again.

  • hes ok, you shd read his invisibles. good stuff-

  • Is there a version of this with subtitles? Being a lonely, sheltered, midwestern American, I can hard make out what he's saying. Such a disgrace since my name is O'Connor.

  • How come british people are so good at writing comics? It's not a bad thing, so don't get me wrong. but it's like, where do all these people COME from?

  • Well, Grant Morrison was written into existence by Alan Moore.

  • Yeah, heard that one before.

  • Well they are the offspring of Alan Moore..duh..lol

  • What comic is better. Batman Hush or Watchmen? I am trying to decide which one to buy.

  • Man, buy Watchmen.

  • thanks. i ordered it off the net.

  • watchmen!!!!

  • thanks. i ordered it off the net.

  • Watchmen no question.... one of the best pieces of writing in any medium. You read it yet?

  • Yes! It was very clever and extremely well written. The funny thing is its wrote very much as a normal novel, although it remains completely true to the comic genre.

  • Yeah, it contains elements that couldn't translate to a purely literal level. The switching back and forth of the visual elements and synchronicities of looming war, the vibe on the street and the pirate comic. It gets better every time you read it. It is saturated with background detail too. There's a great interview with Dave Gibbons on the 'Minscape of Alan Moore' dvd, - He talks of layers of synchronicity in the writing and research and also those that occured (un)naturally. Pure Magic =D

  • The thing about Morrison is that he throws so many ideas out there that a few are bound to miss. On balance, though, his Vertigo-type work AND mainstream work are gonna be remembered in the same way we look back on a lot of Kriby's stuff. He's the only writer whose stuff I'll buy just becuase his name's on the cover.

  • What is up with the camera angles in this interview. annoying as hell

  • if only I could understand what he was saying

  • this guys great

  • i've read all your comments about good, bad (but he was good in 1994 when he wrote...)

And I've seen Millar, Miller, Morisson, Moore... ok, fine

But how anyone haven't mentioned Ellis?

    He's english too, for god's sake !!!

(and I'm french but doesn't matter)

  • Grant Morrison is Scottish, not Engish.

  • scottish not english

  • He looks like Lex Luther

  • He looks like Lex Luther

  • <3 Morrison.

  • The only person cooler than Grant Morrison is Jesus.

  • maybe, but jesus is dead.

  • lol the scottish accent is so melodic it makes his voice kinda blend into the elevator music in the background . guess i need to turn up my beltone :)

  • O.o Morrison's completely right. Thank God there are still writers like Morrison, Miller, and Moore!

  • Morrison and Moore, sure. Miller, not so much. Maybe you mean Millar? Frank Miller's washed up.

  • Hahahahaha!

You CAN'T be fucking serious. You'd put MILLAR above Miller? Have you even READ Ultimate X-Men? If that's the kind of work you want to put next to the likes of Watchmen and The Dark Knight returns, no offense, but you are insane.

Frank might be making things like All-Star Batman & Robin now, but he's already done more for comics than Mark ever will. Sorry dude.

  • As an addendum, I LIKE Mark Millar. I thought Red Son was incredible, and to be honest, was surprised at how awful Ultimate X-Men was. Maybe I should go read Wanted or The Authority or something. But you can't possibly call Frank Miller "washed up" because of whatever he's doing lately, and blatantly ignore some of the absolute shit that's come out of Millar's corner.

  • @Nkerklaan The Authority was great for the first like five or six volumes. Ellis Millar and Morrison. Fantastic.

  • Alan Moore wrote Watchmen

  • COMIC WAR

  • Outside of Dark Knight, Miller hasn't wrote anything worth its cover price.

  • I'm aware Alan Moore wrote Watchmen. I just meant that same league, not necesarily specifically things by Miller.

Honestly, ASB&R is meant as a fucking joke. He's taking the piss. For what it is, it's great. Miller's no Moore, but Millar's no Miller, either.

  • disagree... 'Batman: year one' and 'Daredevil: Man Without Fear' with John Romita Jr on pencils are both great - so are the first two Sin City Books. DK2 was a piece of shit though.

  • I loved DK2. Shut up

  • Have you read ANYTHING By Miller other than Sin City, 300 and his recent Batman work? Have you read Ronin? Bad Boy?, Born Again? Honest to God their is a reason why he is one of the most influential people in Comics. Stan Lee who worked with Jack Fucking Kirby called him a Genius not to long ago.

  • I agree with you. Though i HATE his recent run on Batman..honest to God..it is the worst batman story i am reading right now.

  • omg, nailed it... That batman was sooooo bad.

  • WHAT? WHAT?? Could you mic the interview and not the kitchen staff next time?

  • LOL ! :D hard to hear what he say

  • Funny, Morrison fails to mention the mess he made when he wrote Judge Dredd... he can write some good stuff, but he is a bit of a tosser when he shows nothing but contempt for the character he's writing (look at anything he wrote for 2000ad once DC started paying him...).

  • Re: spaceba The reason why we criticize America is precisely because we were like that. We gave up our empire along time ago.

  • Great to get a glimse into Grant Morrison's mind...evolution1138

  • The movie took place in Britain... You'll notice when they speak that it's with accents common to the British Isles.

  • Duh, you're right. Sorry 'bout that. I could've sworn that was why Alan was angry. But I just looked it up and he was actually angry because they made V look like a freedom fighter rather than an anarchist.

  • Alan Moore didn't like the V movie because the cowardly Wachowski brothers changed the work from a facist future britain and statement on anarchy to a hint that the bush administration may have been responsible for 9/11. He thought perhaps they should have made THAT movie with their own characters rather than ruining his to accomplish that.

  • @Megamaniac610 wow you are an idiot. V for Vendetta took place in Britain. It says it in the movie multiple time you fuck wad. It even talks about how America is basically destroyed.

  • @Megamaniac610 are u stupid=?

  • Grant Morrison an American Treasure? Trust the yanks to "believe" that everything is theirs even if its not. Just becuase he breaks bread with US publishers he's not any treasure of any country... He lives in the sticks overlooking a Scottish Loch! I live in Wales and to me he's just Grant Morrison... Genius in his OWN right! And its pleasure to be able to lap his work up.

  • Last I checked we inherited the attitude of "everything is ours" from the British. Any Brit who would criticize America for that has a real short memory.

  • Great guy with some very captivating ideas and loadsa talent!

  • Yeah...he might be Scottish, but what he did to the 90s Justice League comics is truly American. He's an American Treasure in my book right next to Alex Ross,Mark Waid,George Perez,Gardner Fox, and Alan Moore.

  • Alex Ross is an asshole and doesn't deserve what he has.

  • That was cool. GM,whatta guy!

  • Morrison is better than you.

  • weegie mcfuck!

  • Nice arse accent.

  • Grant is the visonary and prophet whos work is mutating pop culture into magicalHigh art. Read his masterpiece "Tne Invisables" Mankind is ready to embrace it's destiny as demigods and superheros

  • Go search 'Grant Morrison' on Google video and watch his talk at Disinfo Con 2000. Amazing.

  • Thanks, for recommending that! Awesome!

  • The obscure genetic experiment that is Grant Morrison... This is what you get if you graft Jean-Luc Picard with Taggart, and a perhaps a drizzle of Billy Connolly. Genius:)
